Boroku had a splitting migraine headache, the truck transporting him was in poor condition after decades of scrapping the barrel for parts. It was an old Galran truck the Xagreau bought in exchange for raw resources and some tobacco. It jostled around but he knew he fared better than the men walking several miles from the front, the ones who could get away, or the ones riding in mule pulled carts. As they entered the capital, Jakka was now a fortress, sandbags and makeshift fortifications lined all around the city. The attacker could come from anywhere, at best Boroko knew he didn't have the forces to defend the capital and hoped Gentaki could get them to talk terms.
The truck finished its journey at the governor's palace where Gentaki resided before struggling off, thousands of Xagreau soldiers filed into the city where dedicated heavy troopers were placing the last of their artillery and maxim guns. Boroko entered the palace and found Gentaki halfway through a bottle of Amali wine, looking over a map of Xagreau with several enemy pieces moving deep into it. "You got the report?" Boroko asked sheepishly. Gentaki nodded taking another drink from the bottle.
"I'm sending messengers out, I want to talk to Mil'Nor and the Kithium. I will not concede to the lapdog Xaspeshi and the Colonizers. If they refuse we face a battle for the soul of Touli, do the righteous win? Or do the slaves of greed and foreign industry win?" Gentaki took another swig, "We shall find out."
Xagreau messengers reached out to Mil'Nor and Kithium asking for a ceasefire and truce.

The Kithium forces were well equipped more by nature than by supplier for the winter conditions. They'd learned a long time ago how to fight in the snow and cold. Hunkered into makeshift positions occupy what used to be a Xagreau town, but was now a empty husk of wrecked buildings and 'abandoned' fighting positions, the Kithium were able to see the approach of the messenger, and after a moment they had a pair of Kithium soldiers wearing white uniforms rise up from the snow with rifles raised, screaming at them to get down and put their hands behind their head, while others emerged from the burnt out buildings wearing soot and ash on the outside of their uniforms, a trick they'd learned in their first war with the UST.
Once the message was actually received, they sent the messenger back north.
"League Forces will accept a ceasefire. We will not have a truce until terms are discussed collectively with Mil'Nor present to represent itself alongside the League in talks." As well they relayed this to the Mil'Nor.

(Story not turn related)
Habaku managed to get the fire going, he had been hunched over the clay fire place for a solid hour sweating to get it started with some damp scrap wood he found in an alley. Once the orange embers lit he ushered his two daughters both very young 4 and 5 near it. His wife knelt by, her belly swollen with another child. “Papa I’m hungreeeeeeee” complained the young girl. Habaku rushed to the cabinet and in the empty space he pressed a plank of wood blocking stores he kept. Habaku always kept storages for extra food, canned beans, rice bags, whatever he could save. He never trusted Gentaki to succeed like he preached to the masses. In fact, Habaku was well aware of life as a young boy when Ulster Gaelia ruled. They were foreigners true, they had no right to this place, but they ruled fairly. Xagreau were not fair.
Soldiers had ransacked the entire neighborhood for food and supplies leaving the people bare. His neighbors had…made use of their dog. Cats were disappearing fast, rats too, the city was on the verge of starving when the enemy armies arrived.
“We must be very careful” he whispered, “be quiet do not speak of this food and keep the windows closed.” He opened the can of kidney beans and poured it into a tin pot, placing it over the fire to cook. His little girl rubbed her tummy smiling while putting a finger on her lips, he smiled, she and her sister were so precious to him. He couldn’t bear the thought, of them suffering in this stupid war. His girls nestled up to him, he felt their cold bodies and he fought hard against the tears and despair. He felt light fingers rub the back of his neck, his wife kissing him “girls go get grandpa.” The little ones bemoaned leaving the warmth but ran to get Grandpa Nanteki. “It’ll be ok my love. Be strong, Madek said they are talking to end this war.” He nodded but he wasn’t satisfied with just the war ending, “I want out, I want us to have a better life. When it’s done, I’m gonna talk to Bruz and get us out of here to the Federation.” His wife hushed him rubbing her fingers through his coarse hair. “Be careful, they killed my cousin just saying that out loud.” The xagreau we’re not allowed to leave, EVER.
Grandpa Nanteki walked in holding his grand daughters hands, he smiled warmly at them and had been keeping watch down the neighborhood for soldiers. He had fought in the Xaspeshi civil war for Xagreau and now in his 60s regretted ever supporting such a foolish thing. “Oooo beans, smells like. Nothing” he joked getting a giggle from his granddaughters. Habaku rolled his eyes at his dad, trying to make light of the situation. Nanteki didn’t care, he loved his family more than anything. They prepared to eat their meal when shouting began outside, Nanteki glared at his son “they. Are back.”
A squad of Xagreau soldiers were kicking doors down demanding food, Habaku knew he was screwed, they wouldn’t be able to hide this. The smell now filled the house, the screaming was coming closer as some soldiers took payment in…other ways. Dragging some girls out of a house. Nanteki looked at the young men, wild, vicious, stupid. “Habaku.” The old man said, getting the attention of his son. “Stay in here. Do not come out here no matter what.” And like that the old man stepped out closing the door behind him. Habaku grabbed his daughter trying to rush after him and squeezed her, he couldn’t comprehend what was happening.
The soldiers had a girl no older than 13, mocking her, throwing her to the snow and ripping her clothes. “Gonna have fun with you since your worthless dad didn’t have anything. 1. “Please let her go!” The father shouted, a rifle stock slapped into him producing blood. 2. “Shut up! Worthless coward!” 3. “Let’s get moving and sear-“ 4. The men now stared at the old man square down the middle of the alley, a black silhouette against white snow standing still. “Old man! Where’s your house!? You just volunteered for search!” 5. “What’s he doing? Is he inept? Have you shit yourself?” 6. “Oy old man, the fuck?” 7. “Damn there’s 7 of you” Nanteki muttered. The men stared at him wildly “what?”.
Nanteki produced a revolver firing and hitting six of the soldiers killing four and fatally wounding the other two before the seventh fired his rifle at him striking the old man in the chest. Nanteki felt this pain before, crimson blood colored the white snow below, he looked down seeing it pour but he ignored, all of it and pulled his old bayonet out. Staggering to the last man. The panicked soldier tried to reload his gun now screaming, swinging his rifle wildly at Nanteki who waiting for one wild swing slipped in and slid that bayonet into his throat before collapsing himself. The alley was a bloodied horror, those who didn’t die immediately were calling for help.
Habaku broke his fathers word rushing out, “oh gods no!” He rushed to his father who was fading, “boy…told…you” Habaku nodded tears rolling down his eyes. “I know, I know I’m sorry. Oh please don’t go!” Nanteki took his weak hand touching his sons face one last time, “lo…ve….” Habaku laid his father down after holding him, weeping over his loss. The young girl rushed to her father crying and embracing him, “he was a hero. He a damn hero Habaku!” The sound of spitting an liquid hitting the snow interrupted them, “he’s a traitor! And so are you! Fucking traitors! They’ll burn you all!” The soldier raged as blood ran from him, his other comrade had gone falling to his mortal wound. Habaku walked over to the soldier grabbing snow and shoving it into his mouth, “fuck you! None of this would have happened! If you were just soldiers and not thugs!” He crammed that snow down the soldiers throat each fistful filled with more rock than ice as time went on. The soldier finally passed as neighbors came out knowing it was safe, “I got a cart, let’s load the bodies and hide them.” Said one, they got the bodies, washed the blood and buried Nanteki in the backyard of Habaku’s home.
They took the weapons, uniforms, stripped the soldiers bare ass naked and shoved them into a storm drain a mile away. They would sell their equipment as soon as they could for food.

The Xagreau's messenger was intercepted by scouts of the advancing Valderan forces. They'd be treated to a full days rest and a warm meal after speaking with General Tyrann himself, before being sent back north with the Mil'Nor's answer. "We agree to a temporary ceasefire. Our delegation will arrive on the outskirts of Jakka to discuss terms."

The Xagreau 2nd Army oversaw the escort of Gentaki and Boroko to the meeting location, power to the city had long been cutoff as Gentaki and his motorcade passed through the city in grey cold dread. Boroko stared at his boots knowing the terms couldn't be good, and as it stood the Xagreau defenders had enough food and clean water to last a couple of months if rationed but the people made that more complicated.
Jakka didn't expect to be under siege within the year, the conflict was expected to be over seasons ago and now it had come to the doorstep of the Xagreau capital.
---
The UKUG and Xaspeshi arrived at the meeting location, Captain Timok and Sergeant Mularkey dusted off their uniforms and prepared themselves for the arrival of Field Marshall Derada who came via the railroad and then by aircraft. The Gaelic field Marshall saluted his two commanders and commended them for their victory at the borderlands, "We should have this finished soon lads, good job." The Royal Southern Zedonian Colonial Army chose to build camp South of the city near the Valderans, Jelani and his group were enjoying a warm meal before being placed on the rotation to watch the front line.
Derada met with Field Marshall Carrigan before meeting their Valderan and Kithium counterparts, "Seems this is the end you've been wanting for some time eh Carrigan?" Derada asked as the two men walked toward the meeting ground, Carrigan grinned "If it came bloodless, then yea, should have been over years ago." Carrigan knew the cost of just getting here. When he commanded the Federation forces in the civil war, he knew the Xagreau state would only be a temporary measure before another war broke out. He was at least glad, he could be the one to finish the fight.

Escorted by the advancing Valderan forces on the western front, General Tyrann was the first to arrive amoung the Mil'Nor delegates. He wore a face of general disdain for the landscape around him. The losses sustained by the Xagreau had proved the nations weakness, with his own recommendation shot down by the Council. Eyeing the Pomaz import that entered the 'compound' built by the Valderans, the pit in the general's stomach when he sighted the Deacon joining Elder Tzu now. "I were my reports were not enough, Elder? I was under the assumption that you alone would be joining me." Tyrann asked. The Deacon glared at the man as Elder Tzu spoke. "You should know to never assume, little one. This is a historic occasion, and we must treat it as such. Those at home and abroad are bound to watch your homelands first true modern war with interest. " Taking a drag of his Cigar, the General gave shrugging return before leading them towards the meeting tent. "I mean no disrespect, Elder, but this is no place for a woman. The Xagreau may be bloodied, but they still possess a will to fight." Raising a hand to quiet the General, the Elder spoke again. "You are to watch your station, Field General Tyrann. Unless you plan on committing a mark on your record, I expect you to silence yourself in all matters unless in support of the Republic"
Entering the tent, the Valderan delegation took it's place at the table, the number of chairs on either side lopsided to make room for the Mil'Nor's allies. While armed Mil'Nor were present in their all black winter clothing around the tent and compound, the interior was given a strict no-weapons policy.

The Kithium General stood off to the sidelines. This wasn't really their fight. It was the Mil'nor's and they'd been pulled along by a treaty. Allies and friends as they were the Kithium by and large were there as a element of political and military support for the Valderans. Beyond that they held no significant stake, and would only interject if their interest were concerned in the matter. The Kithium general was as well alone, save a single escort, a unarmed rifleman wearing a crimson red and pitch black tunic and a black facemask, their eyes visible as a predatory glow with a slit glaring out from the eyeholes.

Xagreau arrived with Boroko announcing to the Valdera “this is Gentaki, defender against the colonizers, supreme leader of Xagreau and he is here to discuss terms to end this conflict.”
Gentaki walked in wearing a uniform adorned with medals of domestic origin, their purpose unknown to anyone not in the Xagreau military. Gentaki sneered hatefully at everyone but particularly at the Xaspeshi and Ulster Galeics.
“Let’s get started.” Gentaki said with some venom in his voice.

"Representing the Republic of Valdera and its people, I present to you Deacon Kathrine Tolvaj and High Elder Tzu." Tyrann said, the Valderans taking their seats as he finished.
Propping her head up on the table, Kathrine met Gentaki's venom with a look of boredom "By all means, Gentaki. The Republic of Valdera seeks compensation for the unwarranted attack upon it and its people. Our people have lived here for over four hundred years, and never sought violence with the Xagreau."

Gentaki soured his expression "You were letting the Reserians lay down their tracks, allowing the Ulster-Gaelic further passage into Touli. You all don't belong here, even the traitors who fought with the Gaels and the Xaspeshi mudblood fools. Kithium, Mil'Nor, Gaelic...you're all illegally here. This was a just war to undo the evils of the colonizer. There is no compensation we can give you."
---
Field Marshall Roy Carrigan chimed in, "You are an illegal rebellion yourself, aside from the Trindex Concorde that ended our civil war, Xagreau has done little to make itself a proper state of Touli...no you did what I always said you would. Attack someone."
Gentaki flapped his hand rudely at Carrigan dismissing his statement, the UKUG representatives sat quietly as it was not their war.

"By what right do you claim judgement here?" Elder Tzu asked, disapproval clear in his voice as he continued "Your excursion in the Republic's territory has been met with our forces at your door, with us here to discuss your surrender. You may call yourself a 'Supreme Leader', but all I see is a bandit king who best remember his place"
"As for compensation." Kathrine interjected, having taken out a map of the region out onto the table. "For the crimes taken against Valdera and her people, we can offer you two options. One would see the dissolution of your nation, with your lands split between the victors. Your people will be well cared for, and you will be given amnesty in the form of exile from Touli." The Deacon moved to indicate Jakka on the map, a knowing look on her face as she spoke "I'm not sure what your officers have told you, but this war has ended. If you disagree to these terms, you and your people will pay in blood for your pride"

Boroko leaned into Gentaki whispering into his ear, confirming that the defenses around Jakka weren’t as sound as they’d like and defeat would be all but inevitable. Gentaki glared his eyes at the Mil’Nor, “fine, the fighting ends then. I want my exile to be comfortable as the same for my general and close staff.”

"Arrangements will be made, in return for your public denouncement of the war and call for peace." Kathrine replied "As for your staff, we will require the man who led the attack on Harrlowsburrow. The rest will be given amnesty in return of his exchange."

The outburst was met with a whistle from General Tyrann, with several guards entering the tent and swiftly removing Boroko despite what resistance the man would offer. Once removed, work was to begin on drafting the treaty proper. The end result would read as follows:
Treaty of Jakka, 1932
Article 1: Xagreau is to cease all hostilities and demobilize it's forces. All weaponry and equipment is to be handed over to the Republic of Valdera Article 2: Xagreau is to renounce it's claim to sovereignty Article 3: Xagreau is to publicly admit it's crimes against Valdera and it's People Article 4: Xagreau is to be divided between the Kithium Leauge, The Republic of Valdera and the Xaspesh Federation.
