Despite their best efforts, and even with very generous Gaelic terms for importing goods using their docks in Zedonia, the Viziers of Finance of the Sultanate of Murshidabad was forced to admit defeat, like their predecessors before them: their currency was completely worthless outside the lands of their Sultanate. Forced to barter off goods to Ulster-Gaelia for dirt-cheap prices in order to import basic necessities, even these desperate measures were failing to feed Murshidabad's economy, meaning that even if food was guaranteed, there existed little to nothing else for the near-nonexistent middle class and the nobility to show for their wealth, causing them to resent greatly even the modest accommodations of the Sultan.
One of the viziers, a scholar who was self-educated off of eastern tomes of economics and political philosophy, believed that a solution laid in adopting the currency of their sole link to the outside world. By utilizing the Gaelic Pound through some sort of economic arrangement with Ulster-Gaelia and its banks, Murshidabad could more easily rate the value of what goods it did produce and buy and sell on the world market more easily.
The Sultan assented to the proposal, seeking to put a lid on domestic discontent, and so sent the Viziers of Finance, the Viziers of Worldly Affairs, and a few dozen servants tugging pack mules laden with the luxuries of Murshidabad (its sole valuable export) to the border crossing with Zedonia, armed with the Sultan's official seal seeking a direction to a responsible diplomatic consul of Ulster-Gaelia.

The border checkpoint was rather small, traffic was seldom so when the large entourage arrived Gaelic officials were to say at the very least, stunned.
The closest major city to send them would be Og, and so they were given pass into the colony with a telegram sent ahead to prepare accommodations for them and a representative to meet them.
Governor Rex McHiggins of Zedonia made himself available to meet at Og at the central courthouse along with some members of the UKUG ministry of foreign affairs.

The various Viziers entered the courthouse, along with a couple of servants bearing a fraction of the total wealth brought by the entire party. Once they were in the room with the Governor and the foreign affair staff, the Viziers of External Affairs took the lead and bowed to Governor McHiggins. The more portly of the two, seemingly being the elder and more senior, began to speak at a deliberate pace, trying to avoid any mistakes with his Common.
"Thank you for receiving us, Governor. Murshidabad has always been grateful for Ulter-Gaelia's attention to our humble Sultanate. As a show of our friendship, our Sultan has instructed us to present you with the gifts of our homeland: fine artisanal goods made by the finest craftsmen in our realm." As he finished saying this, the servants would bring forward the luxuries, and would place them wherever instructed by the Gaelians.
The Vizier would continue once that was resolved, "As further sign of our friendship, we also have luxury goods we humbly request for you to send forward to your King and Queen, as well as your Taos-each... erm, your Prime Minister. All these are waiting outside for instructions on how to deliver them."

Governor McHiggins nodded as the gifts were presented, "We can have them shipped out to Ulster-Gaelia to them as soon as possible. That being said, I doubt you've come all this way to give us gifts, while we get settled in may I offer you and your companions beverages or some food?"

"Your generosity is greatly appreciated. While the supplies we brought for our entourage were sufficient, we would be remiss to accept your nation's offer."
The Murshidabadi viziers and their servants would follow Governor McHiggins.

McHiggins would usher them in with members of the Ministry of Foreign affairs and his own office, a large black wood table would be where they would be seated. Various staff members would bring out cups of coffee, tea, water and fruit juices for them as well as offering small snacks to eat on.
"As we being I shall inform you all I have the full authority of the elected Parliament and his majesty King Rufus McDonald of the Emerald throne to approve what is to be decided here today. So with that, shall we begin?"
