"I told you," Marcel said, barely hiding his smugness, "You heard it from the spider's own mouth. Gaelia should be allying with Galra against the true enemy here."
"For the love of God and Franerre, Marcel, keep your comments to a minimum at the very least, and do not say anything in commons or so help me I will punish you in every way I can by law when we return home." Maybe Mesny should have tried to switch those names around earlier, if for nothing else than to shut d'Armande up before he said something truly idiotic.
"The only prosperous future the world has is when those spiders go back to their island and never leave again," d'Armande muttered, finally taking Mesny's advice.

The Franerri would find themselves the recipients of a disapproving look from the Count of Czarnelasy, but since he had already accepted himself to be the supporting member of the Lusatian delegation, he kept his mouth shut.
Meanwhile, Feliks sighed, and shook his head, somewhat embarrassed, "Perhaps my knowledge of your nation's affairs would be better if we hadn't been diplomatically at-odds since about 1900. It's my faux pas, I apologize."
"Let's change the conversation, shall we? Is this your first chance to come to Koi? What do you make of Pohiliin?"

"Oh, don't worry. I was merely jesting at your minor slip." Reito laughed. "I'm sure there are a thousand things I would get wrong on Lusatian history. I'm thankful that we can both be a part of such a historic time where our two people can do more than stare cautiously at one another from across the pond."
"It's my first time leaving Kumosenkan at all, actually. The furthest I've been from home before now was Aundi Yio in Elenria a handful of years ago. It's a real blessing to take in such an incredible culture, Pohiliin is quite the city. Unlike anything I've ever seen before. What truly incredible people to have built something so awe-inspiring. I'm thankful that the Koians have been long friends of ours. You can really see that they're a friend of everyone, there are worldwide cultural influences around every corner. When I got off the boat, I saw a Koian wearing a Gaelic kilt. It was quite the sight." She said with a soft laugh.

O'Donnell scoured the room at the representatives, he nodded at Feliks and the Lusatians but his eyes stayed on Reito for a moment. He promised his King, his friend, he would try to accept the new arrangement. But how could you forget the past, when it was carved into your very face, Richard walked on not noticing his fingers tracing the scars along his face. He saw the Frannerri muttering to themselves as he side eyed them, he looked around to see who else was in attendance.
'Ashinara is supposed to be here, haven't seen them' he thought to himself. For now he wondered who he needed to pester for a drink.

As Tagomych and Kotomochi made their way into the banquet hall, they scanned the room with their eyes, looking where everyone would sit. To their shock they quickly found out that they would be sitting next to the Galrans. At least the saving grace would the presence of the Roskanans at their table as well. Before taking their seats, however, both representatives had someone they wanted to talk to first.
Tagomych, noticing O'Donnell looking around, took the initiative. Despite his age, he was still a fox, he nimbly weaved through the crowd towards a server with drinks on his platter. Taking two, he approached O'Donnell, handing him one of the drinks.
"Quite an event we're finding ourselves in, are we not, Pan O'Donnell?"
Meanwhile, Kotomichi, holding an envelope in her hands, has sheepishly made her way towards Empress Reito. Intimidated not only by the spider Empress's size, but also by the fact that this was her first ever diplomatic mission, she positioned herself to be clearly seen by Reito, but not close enough as to intrude on Reito's conversation with the Lusatians, waiting for a natural pause in their conversation to approach the Empress.

O’Donnell had managed to get a glass of whiskey when Tagomych approached him, he turned to the fox and responded “the Koians seem to think getting the lot of us in a room together was a good idea.” He stared at the Galrans as he took another drink, “Gaelics tend to consider such gatherings without bloodshed a dull affair, and there stand people as if vipers.”
O’Donnell had heard of the rumblings, but like most it would be chalked to speculation. But he felt Galra was indeed moving pieces on the board for something, what that was he wasn’t sure.

"Perhaps it is a good idea, albeit not for the reasons the Koians might think. Should it come to bloodshed as you say, be it literal or, I personally prefer if things get out of hand - metaphorical, some here may unintentionally reveal their cards to us. Keep your friends close and enemies closer, as the saying goes, am I right?"
As he was saying that, Tagomych was a lao glancing towards the Galrans.
"And I have the misfortune of being seated right next to them. Well, we'll just have to see how it plays out."

Raynsford sneered at the other representatives, “ugly disgusting freaks” he said aloud as he proudly and smugly walked across the room. His eyes met Reito’s and without hesitation said, “your mother’s death was a blessing. Do us a favor and follow her to hell infidel.”

Komorowski chuckled, then responded, "The sight is quite unexpected on first encounter. Pohiliin is everything I hope Kazimierzgrad to be - perhaps what most leaders here wish their homelands could have. Proof that there are ideas and people that can transcend borders and nations. This city has never been unimpressive to me."
Komorowski noticed the Ashinaran nearby seemingly wishing to speak to Reito, and stopped speaking and stepped aside slightly, indicating she could do what she needed... or at least that was the plan before the Galran Raynsford approached.
The Prime Minister was, himself, frozen in shock at the uncouthness of the Galran, and didn't even know how to begin to address the insult.
The Count of Czarnelasy, however, took one moment to about-face, turning from the Franerri he had been scowling at to set his eyes on Raynsford.
Approaching him to intercept and prevent Raynsford from escaping, on the off-chance he wished to do so, the Count decided he was going to wipe that smug look off the Galran's face.
"Fancy that, a three syllable word! So you do learn something at those seminaries! ...Although, I suppose 'infidel' is probably just something you heard while a bishop was reading that pamphlet you call a holy book."

The Galran turned, amused by the response “oh how the genetic trash clump themselves to one another. Tell me Nordling, how low do you stoop to be in filth like her? With the Gaelic? Those shit farmers the shah calls people? Hue hue, you speak as if you are barely a human being yourself and not some inferior offspring.”
Raynsford snapped his fingers at a nearby Koian, “you. Bug. Bring me some water, make sure the glass is clean. It’s already risky to be breathing the air in this…building.”

"So it begins," Tagomych said to O'Donnell quietly, sipping on his own whiskey. "Willing to make a bet? I say, if it gets physical, the Lusatian will throw the first punch."

The Count relished Raynsford's words, and chuckled, "My apologies, you've just spent so much time speaking shit I nearly mistook your head for your ass."
"At any rate, I'm not sure you're one to really talk about being superior, after all, I'm pretty sure perfection is taller. Then again, a 'superior' human is probably also smarter, and here you are biting the hand that feeds you. As wondrously powerful as your ministries proclaim your nation and that social club you call an alliance to be, we all know the Koians have your economy by the balls. How long after getting cut off would it take for your nation to burn to the ground? One week? Two? Let's see how 'superior' your nation is after all the factories shut down and trains grind to a halt."

Reito met the Galran's gaze with a bored tone. "My mother's death is the worst thing that could ever happen to you." She offered with a smile, knowing Shiraori would never have allied herself with the Gaelic. "Perhaps when you're not too busy sucking your own dick, you can bring your fleet over to mine, and the world can be reminded of who rules the waves." Thankfully Reito had been prepared for the Galrans to say something like this to her.
As the Ashinaran approached the Empress, she gave them a quizzical look before Yuu Nishimura intercepted them. "What is your business?"

The Koian server would stop and glare at the Galran for a second. His wings would unfurl for a moment before wrapping back in, the unison sound of heavy bootsteps echoing through the room briefly as all the guards would react to the display, training their eyes towards the crowd and shuffling their rifles within their hands. The server would walk off, going to a water station behind the Galran out of their view but still within view of the other delegates to watch as the Koian would actively spit into the cup before filling it with water. They’d swirl it around some to hide it completely before doning a glove and carrying the cup over to act like it’s been cleaned.
Less enthusiastically, the two dictators would snap their heads towards the Galran. The guards closest to them would place their hands more firmly on their rifles, their hands slightly shaking as their eyes followed the two of the most important people in Koi march their way through the crowd and towards the congregation.
Standing far behind the crowd, Emperor Octavius of Verak and Kaiser Vunderstran of Grinvel would exchange worried looks with each other. The Emperor would be the first to speak between themselves. “Why are we following them again?”
“Something about how with their help we can achieve our dreams…”
“I know the plan. I know what the goal is. But sometimes I feel like they’re just a little too off their rocker.”
The Kaiser simply nodded. “We have beef with only one country. Maybe two if really want to stretch to Marrlan but they haven’t really bothered us since they became free from their wretched masters. What He wants with everyone else just isn’t really for us. Their arrogance is their weakness. We could go about our own plans without needing to get the world involved.”
“You think we need them? Yeah we’ve got some similar views on…certain things…we’re not going around screaming it at their faces. There is some level of respect you have to give others. I just thi-“ Celio would pause as the Kaiser pointed towards the Koian spitting in the water cup, “…think we should say something?”
“No. He did just walk up to the Empress of one of the world’s superpowers and just told her to join her passed mother. I think a little retribution is acceptable.”
The Emperor would shrug and continue. “I suppose their whole plan hinges on us helping them.”
“Mhm. And just between us…I’m not letting my country go down with a sinking ship. We have our one goal; their goals mean nothing to us.”
“Understood.” He’d look at his cup of water the Galran rep had given him a few moments ago. “I think I need something stronger.”
The Kaiser looked at his own water cup. “I thought you’d never share.” The two would stop a passing server, grabbing some wine and Gaelic whiskey from their tray to watch the unfolding scene.

Kotomichi bowed to Nishimura, trying to show respect despite her getting mentally overloaded with the unfolding situation. The Galran starting a scene, everyone around her beginning to hurl insults at each other - including the one person she was trying to approach - and then she is being stopped dead in her tracks by someone else. Then, she responded in the slightly outdated Kumo language her family has learned over 50 years ago before they returned from Elenria to Ashinara, hoping that her antiquated speech would be mistaken for a foreign accent.
"I bring a letter for Empress Reito from my own sovereign, Queen Yuzura." In confirmation of her words, Kotomichi showed Nishiumura the envelope, white paper with silver embossment, sealed by a blue wax stamp bearing the Hetman's Seal of Ashinara.
