Military and Arms Manufacturers
Le Armi di Papatzis (Papatzis's Arms) [LADP]
Parent: N/A
Market Status: Partially Publicly Traded
Business Type:
- Personal Corporation with Limited Liability [1822 - 1845]
- Limited Liability [1845 - Now]
Michalis Papatzis opened Le Armi di Papatzis in 1822 as a means to create a small firearm for civilian use. Papatzis served in the Amalian army from 1806 to 1813 before being discharged honorably following injury during the Verak-Amali Border Skirmishes of 1812. Papatzis's gun factories are located in West Amali for this purpose: to develop and maintain local militias in case Verak were to invade. During the 19th Century, Amali had enacted a period of required military service for those aged 17 to 25 for two-to-four years, providing training and pay. This also allowed for increased gun ownership among the civilian populace as more people were trained to handle the weapons, satisfying Amalian conditions for private gun ownership.
LADP focuses on smaller arms meant for civilian use and is one of the largest civil gun manufacturers in the nation. Michalis Paptzis died in 1845 after passing the company to his son, who later transferred the corporation from a Personal Corporation to a fully Limited Liability Corporation. The company has remained in the hands of the Papatzis's and is currently headed by two of family members. LADP only allows 35% of stock to be traded on the Amalian Stock Exchange in Palmyra, hence its status "partially publicly traded."
Munizioni e Armi della Repubblica (Republican Munition and Arms) [MADR]

MADR was founded at the turn of the 18th Century as machinery was introduced to scale musket production, serving as one of Amali's first industrial military companies. The company has stood the test of time thus far, creating several well known models of bolt action and, much older, breech-loaded rifles. MADR is one of the largest companies in terms of market cap in Amali owing to a storied history with the national government.
Armi Orientali (Eastern Guns) [AROR]
Parent: N/A
Market Status: Private
Business Type: Corporation
Armi Orientali is a relatively modern arms manufacturer, focusing on many of the more modern guns found in the Amalian army. They bought an old model and plan from M.A.D.R. that became the old Mitragliatrice Modello 3, or the M3 for short. The Amalian government bought it in 1814 following the Border Skirmishes before deploying it, to effective use, in 1816 against a small Sicelian [Veraki] incursion. A.R.O.R. is constantly testing and fielding new types of machine guns and has been in the process of creating a more personal variant, to some marginal degrees of success.
