Overview:
The Kingdom of Franerre is a medium-sized nation, occupying the lands from the Yasuhiro Mountains in the West, the Hideaki Mountains to the South, the Mogahol Badlands to the North, and the Hinbury Strait to the East. Franerre has a total population of 76,000,000 people, with the majority species being human, making up 95% of the nation. The official language of Franerre is Franch (just French but spelled differently). Franerre has a multitude of different religions, with the state religion being Deuxmars.
Demonym: Franch, ex; "The Franch royal seal is the Fleur-de-Lis."
Motto: "Pour la Nation et la Couronne de Franerre" (For the Nation and Crown of Franerre)
Religious Demographics:
Baronies:
Franerre consists of five administrative regions, called Baronies, each of roughly the same geographical size: La Metropole, Bromsole, Marais, Bordemer, and Estiere. Despite the name "Barony," each region is governed by an elected Baron, rather than an appointed Baron, elected every 5 years.
La Metropole:
La Metropole is based entirely around the city of Pareau, the Barony's capitol, and the surrounding territory, encompassing the entire peninsula the Pareau is founded on. Metropole has a total population of 11.4 million people, with 11% of that being centered in the city of Pareau itself. Metropole's industries include shipping and ship building, film making, fishing, filmmaking, and finance. The current Baron of La Metropole is Lord Michael Ordin, of the SNF party.
Bromsole:
The Bromsole Barony is the Northwest most Barony of Franerre, the capitol of the province being the city of Elenerre. The Barony has a total population of 17.48 million people, with 13% of the population being located in the city of Elenerre. The main industries of Bromsole include finance, trade, agriculture, mining, and civilian production. The current Baron of Bromsole is Lord Pierre Rennes, of the PPL party.
Marais:
The Barony of Marais is located in the center of Franerre, on the south side of the Peaceful Marsh Bay, with the capitol city being Alcasse. Marais has a total population of 15.9 million people, with 8% of that population being centered in Alcasse. The current Baron of Marais is Lord Etran Anisonne of the PPL party, and is the first nonhuman Baron in Franerre's history, being an Austari. Major industries of Marais include tourism, manufacturing (both of civilian goods and arms), fishing, agriculture, transportation, and education.
Bordemer:
The Bordemer Barony is located in the western provinces of Franerre, and has the largest land area of any Barony. The capitol of the Barony is Setange, with a total population of 13 million citizens, with 15% of which is located in the city of Setange itself. Major industries of Bordemer include mining, military industry, lumber, and agricultre, making it one of Franerre's poorest regions. The current Baron of Bordemer is Lord Phillipe Bartholomew, of the PCD Party.
Estiere:
Estiere is the easternmost Barony of Franerre, encompassing the entirety of the nation's coastline not situated between the two bays. The capitol of Estiere is Desterque, with the city only holding around 20% of the Barony's 18.28 million people, making Estiere the largest and most densely populated Barony of Franerre. Major industries of Estiere include fishing, trade, shipbuilding, tourism, with minor sections of the economy being devoted to lumber and agriculture. The current Baron of Estiere is Lord William Forron, of the PPL party.
Cities:
Pareau:
The Capitol city of Franerre, as well as it's largest population center, is Pareau, sitting at the confluence of the Bromsol and Peaceful Marsh Bays. Due to it's advantageous position, being sheltered from the harsh storms that would blow in from the Hinbury Strait, Pareau is the largest port in Franerre, as well as the center for most of the nation's shipbuilding industry. The city has a population of 4,280,000 souls, with the majority of the population being human, though the city does have sizable Demi-Human and Far-Human populations, combined making up around ~8% of Pareau. The city has a wide array of architectural styles, the oldest buildings dating back to the late 1400's, with the original Royal Palace, now the National Museum of Franerre, being among them. Pareau is also home to thriving film, art, jewelry, and fashion scenes, especially exporting Franch films and pearls all across Ouhri.
Desterque:
Colloquially known as "The Gateway to Franerre," Dsterque is the second largest city of Franerre, located where the Hinbury Strait meets the Gulf of Goilers. Desterque has served as the entrance to Franerre for many ships over the centuries, and is the second largest port and second largest hub of shipbuilding, as Desterque and Pareau combined have a total of 90% of Franerre's dockyards located in them. Desterque has 3.67 million people, with around ~7% of the population being nonhuman. In addition to being known as the Gateway to Franerre, Desterqu is also renown for it's tourism industry, with visitors able to visit the many ruins of old lighthouses that dot the coast of Oustiere, as well as the plentiful beaches during the nice summer weather. Desterque is home to the King's Summer Palace, the site of many important treaties between Franerre and foreign powers.
Elenerre:
Located on Franerre's boarder with Elenria on the Bromsol Bay, Elenerre has long served as a trade hub between the two nations. As a result, the population of Elenerre is very diverse by Franerre's standards, with the city of 2.29 million having a population of 116,000 nonhumans, or approximately 9% of the city's population, mostly Austari and Inselni. As an unfortunate result, Elenria's politics have spilled over the border on more than one occasion, as many Greatferns and non-humans alike see Elenerre as a place to escape for Elenria, for one reason or another, and these tensions have resulted in violence on numerous occasions. Despite this, Elenerre continues to thrive thanks to continued trade with Elenria, resulting in the development of the largest portion of Franerre's civilian industry being centered here.
Setange:
Sitting at the break between the Yasuhiro and Hideaki Mountain Ranges, Setange, similarly to Elenerre, grew out of a trading post, this time on the route between Franerre and Eleria. The natural passage between the two mountain ranges has also made Setange the first line of defense against any invaders from the other side of the mountains, and as such Franerre keeps a large portion of their standing ground army based in Setange. In addition, Franerre has historically constructed lines of fort in the area, the most recent of which being the "Mur de Franerre" or "Franerre's Wall." With the more recent addition of the Setange Royal Air Legion base, it was only natural for the city to house a large portion of Franerre's arms industry. 1.97 million people call Setange home, with 6% of the population being nonhuman.
Alcasse:
The last of Franerre's five major cities, Alcasse is situated in the middle of the Peaceful Marsh bay, between Pareau and Desterque. Originally home to a shipbuilding industry of it's own, Alcasse would eventually lose more and more of the industry, as well as people, to Pareau and Desterque as time went on. To combat this loss of industry, Alcasse has transitioned more towards the land-based industry, with both large military and civilian sectors. In addition to the aforementioned industries, Alcasse also holds Franerre's largest university, the Université Nationale d'Alcasse (National University of Alcasse). To combat the loss of people, Alcasse made it known that it was a city of fresh starts, becoming one of the most diverse in the nation, with 15% of the 1.25 million people being nonhuman, but only 72% of the city's population being Franch in origin. Due to this large diversity, Alcasse is another popular spot for tourists, full of international dishes, each with their own Franch-flair to them. Visitors can eat Katsu Curry in "Komu-town" while drinking a nice tea straight from "Little Ulster" and later watch a baseball game in "Amaliland," all without leaving downtown Alcasse.
