The year is 1936, in a different time, Galra has launched an all-out assault on the main continent. In what has become without a doubt the largest scaled conflict in Ouhiri history, the Galra Empire has invaded every neighbor it borders including the Koi to create a new global hegemony. The disorganized global response, Galra's advanced mechanized military and the sheer size of its military has left few who can oppose them. Within a year the Galra military has driven deep into Astusden, Rombarda, Lusatia and overruns Koi. They turn South to invade Neverra and push their advantage to the South, Galra forces are nearly unstoppable save the immense sacrifice and sheer determination of the opposition.
Galra's Emperor has sent out letters demanding nations accept Galra's new borders and to submit to a new global hegemony where they control all the Staol trade and the Northern half of the main continent. The Koi are enslaved to work the Staol feeding their war machine and Galra troops are needlessly attacking civilians. The World has a chance to respond. Fight on and risk extermination or submit to Galra.
OOC: A couple things, players will need to update their points spreadsheets if they're going to participate and update them for wartime participation. Galra will be updated this weekend to reflect their new strength. Nations can post below if they yield to Galra or oppose the Emperor's demand (basically joining in the war against them) once we have all participants and the points set i'll make separate threads for the theaters of war since this is going to be a huge war and it'll make things less crowded. Each nation will be given a situation it faces in the war, where it be under siege from Galra, facing antiwar opposition in their nation to submit, or even under occupation and need to organize an underground resistance. I wanna keep this kinda rules lite since Galra will be basically a massive NPC but Staol guidelines remain as this is an extension of Staol. Also since this is a divergence in the timeline feel free to make changes to your nation you wanna make as Galra being this powerful changes the outcome despite who wins the war.

King Rufus McDonald and Taoiseach Richard O'Donnell would reply to the Galra Emperor.
"We shall not yield, your illegal invasion of the Koi and other free nations of Ouhiri will not be tolerated by the Emerald Empire."
UKUG joins the global war against Galra.

Though TAKPOE was hardly anywhere near a sovereign nation in its current state, this did not stop Queen Akel and her administration from pushing through a communique to Kumosenkan's governor in Elenria for guidance on the state's position upon the issue. In anticipation of the already interrupted staol trade to only exacerbate, plans were hastily drafted for national conversion to coal and wood over the cleaner-burning fuel. It was a last-ditch effort, no less, but surely, surely Kumosenkan would not join this horrific debacle. The Elenrian military was by no senses ready for any kind of modern war- corruption and mismanagement ran rife through the ranks and the guns wielded by the Territorials were almost twenty years out of date, let alone anything like artillery or communications equipment.
Nevertheless the message was sent and the Queen sat with her advisors with their hands clasped, waiting.

The Imperial government did not respond to the Galra letter, as a show of neutrality. While they understood that the lack of response would likely be interpreted as a refusal to submit, and thus cause war to to be declared against the Ashigawa nation, it would hopefully give a little bit of time for the Army and Navy to get ready for the incoming onslaught.

King Dante looked at the transcript of the letter in front of him. Two other men sat in the room with him: Martial Ranulf and Prime Minister Louis Marpellier. Each held a copy of the transcript before them, a scattering of various other reports littering the table they sat at, all sitting over a map of the world. The map had been drawn on to reflect the new borders to the best of Franerre's knowledge. It was late at night, the crackling fireplace sending shadows dancing across the edge of the room.
Dante chuckled, drawing a look from the other two men. "Is this letter some kind of twisted joke?" Invasions, enslavement, the murder of innocents, and they ask us to kneel? I've often said us Franchmen are too proud for our own good. But I don't know how a man with any sort of pride in himself could accept this. We must refuse." The King's words hung in the air for a long while, its only partner the crackling of the fire and the occasional shuffling of paper by one of the other two men. Dante looked at both of them in turn, expectantly. "Well?"
"Well what?" Marpellier asked.
"A King can be forced to abdicate via three-fourths majority vote in the Parliament and with the approval of the High Council. And I'm sure there are plenty of military units who are loyal to you that could execute a coup, Ranulf." The Prime Minister and Martial paled.
"What are you saying Dante?" Ranulf asked, his concern for the King trumping station.
"I'm saying my actions could lead Franerre to ruin. I hold the lives of millions in my hand. This may very well be the most important decision in our nation's history, and it falls on my shoulders to make it. The wrong choice will spell doom for us. If I am about to make the wrong decision...you two are in the best position to stop me."
Martial Ranulf stood from the table, walking over to a nearby desk. He returned with a bottle of wine and three glasses, setting one down in front of each man. "I fully stand by your decision, my King." He popped the cork off the wine, pouring a full glass for himself and for the King. "If we lead Franerre to ruin, we lead her there with our heads high. Unless the Prime Minister has anything to say about it, of course."
Both men looked at Louis, waiting for his answer. He took the bottle from Ranulf, pouring a glass for himself, his wordless answer given.

The official response was delayed for a few days, giving time for the Army and Navy to mobilize. Once they had, Franerre declared war on Galra.
