As the body is rolled off its back, the s&r crew are met with an unnerving sight.
The body is missing it’s eyes.
Blood coats their clothes and fluff, the fabric torn likely from the sliding across the metal floor.

Derrick was brought over to the Roskanans shortly after they reached the Gaelian deck team, he was wearing a dark green uniform with some decorative attire that showed he was an officer. The rain pelted against him as he walked across the deck trying to keep his slouch hat on. “You must be the Roskanan mates I was told about, lucky you brought guns fuckin Kumo made this chaos. We’ve searched this entire upper deck, no survivors and we got a team down below. It’s been a bloody hour no idea if they found anyone yet. We need to get to the bridge somehow but other than some marine support that won’t get here soon we aren’t equipped to get in it.” It was clear he was flustered by the Kumo trampling his team and accusing them of piracy but he was at the least showing appreciation to the Roskan cooperation. "We send team to bridge." The Festria manages out in relatively passable Common. "Do not know if made entry or can. What of Kumos?" She'd ask him. Meanwhile the Roskanan ship would radio for additional assistance from any nearby Roskanan naval vessels and request a Staol ship or Koian vessel be asked to join the effort, doing the last part on a more or less open channel while they kept their own call for aid from other Roskanan warships on closed one as to not let it be known they were calling for additional support, save for the Gaelians of whom they would inform by radio.

“Haven’t made entry yet, the doors were damaged beyond what we got on hand. The bloody Kumo went underneath along with some Elenrians, don’t know if they’ve met our group or not. Maybe they’ll listen to you, doubt it, absolute bastards.”

“Haven’t made entry yet, the doors were damaged beyond what we got on hand. The bloody Kumo went underneath along with some Elenrians, don’t know if they’ve met our group or not. Maybe they’ll listen to you, doubt it, absolute bastards.” "Will relay. Don't have heavy equipment with team." She'd say, turning to make her way back up top, though she stops to tell the rest to stay, taking only one other crewman with her as she makes her way back up to the deck. The man would be a Sergeant, or something equal to it. "We saw Elenrians and Kumo aboard when we pulled alongside, though we didn't see what they were doing. Do you know where your team made entry to the lower decks?" He'd ask them. "We do have sheers from our mess hall, should be enough to get through spider silk. Keyword there is should, though." He'd say. "If the Spiders have a problem they'll have to talk to someone who gives a damn and doesn't have a shotgun." He'd as well, take his sidearm, and hand it to the Gaelian marine. "Just don't tell anyone I gave it to you." He'd say. "Kinda dumb you guys came unarmed but it probably wasn't your choice huh."
Roskanan naval command on the Mainland would return a reply via radio, detailing the dispatch of a pair of frigates and the 112th Naval Support Element, which included two destroyers, a cruiser and a pair of supply ships, though they were all still a considerable distance out and would need anywhere from an hour to three to arrive if the sea stayed relatively calm during their transit through the rain spell. Though, assured that help was at least on its way, the captain of the Hadaya would be a little less put on edge, though they were keeping close track of the events as they unfolded. They still didn't know if another Staol ship would be sent to the area however, which wasn't unexpected. It'd take longer to get a Staol ship to come in and provide aid than it would be to ask for aid from their own navy.

The sailors made a face beholding the whole scene- even the inselni handling the body frowned at the sorry state of the deceased Koian, murmuring a prayer as he stepped back to look at it. The officer of the group was more concerned though- raising their lantern, they peeked around and searched for anything that could've torn the body into the state it was now.
"Nosika?"
The inselni was still in the midst of a prayer, but he looked up at the officer's mention of his name. "Yes, sir?"
"Have you any experience with bodies? You mentioned working for the constabulary two decades back in Tolsi."
"Apologies, sir. I was patrol officer- not investigation."
The officer grimaced. "Never mind that then- Karis?" Another sailor looked up from the smeared blood trails on the floor, clearly disturbed. "Do me a favor and find the Kumo search party- let them know about the corpse, and to be careful. I don't suppose a mutiny might've broken out, but it's quite hard to tell. If there's still anything that could hurt our people, then they're better equipped to deal with it than a bunch of merchant marine sailors with crowbars."
The sailor nodded and took off, very much happy to leave the gory scene behind towards the upper deck, if only for the moment.

Derrick grinned at the Roskanan, “it was a simple rescue til the Kumo showed up.” He looked over an admired the firearm given to him, it was alien to him nothing like the guns in the United Kingdom.
———
Below deck the Elenrians would run into not the Kumo but the Gaelian search team. They would arrive in the mess hall and approach the group “I’m commander Frank Graham, 228 marine corps assigned here for search and rescue of the crew of this ship. What have you found here?” His eyes drifted to the corpse and it’s missing eyes and quickly went back to the Usio crew.
——-
Arriving via boarding vessels, armed marines of the 228 finally arrived from the Tython. And began handing out weapons to the deck crew. A woman wearing combat gear and tommy helmet walked to Derrick who finished talking to the Roskanan team. “Report, where commander Graham? And why am I hearing she bitch spiders SHOVED YOU?!” Derricks face turned red from embarrassment, “Sergeant Brown, the Commander is below deck searching but the Kumo, elenrian and now Roskanan are behind him and his team. We haven’t found survivors. No bodies either.” Brown rolled her eyes annoyed by the entire thing, while she could appreciate the elenrians and Roskanan helping the Kumo did their typical one sided view of the Gaelians and mistreated them. “Just need two to follow me below I’ll go with the Roskanan and we’re gonna find out what happened here, no more wasting our time.”

"Petty Officer Oliko Mers, KMM Usio search and rescue party," the Usio search team's officer replied blithely. "We have just about as much an idea of what happened as you do- marched on down, found this body sliding about the floor. Felt it was disrespectful to leave the body just sliding about, so we seated them and found their eyes were missing." He glanced at the Koian, adding. "We've only crowbars and lanterns, but I told the others to search for weapons or anything that could've caused this. Mutiny seems likely, but the whole missing eye part seems to throw doubt in that."

Derrick grinned at the Roskanan, “it was a simple rescue til the Kumo showed up.” He looked over an admired the firearm given to him, it was alien to him nothing like the guns in the United Kingdom. ——— It wasn't terribly alien - it was one of the relatively rare firearms that would usually never leave the hands of the Roskanan wielding it unless killed - but in terms of function it was basically the same as any modern firearm and it didn't look too difficult to wield. It had iron sights, a pistol grip, and the magazine was fed through the grip. It seemed like it would at least serve, and from the looks of it if he were to pull back the slide, it'd have a full magazine. But it had a distinct silvery white color to it, the grip wrapped in cord but seemingly more so to cover the lack of wood around the metal grip that the man's main weapon had. "Shit happens, that's why you improvise." He'd say. "But I understand all the same."
The Roskanan team would begin to make their way down into the lower deck, and they made a point to shout the entire way down, and keep their shotguns held up at the ready. The threat to move people by force out of their way if they decided to get in it would be made plainly clear if someone tried, because the squad leader wouldn't hesitate to bodyslam anyone that made a point of trying to make a stand - further aided by the fact she was almost eight feet tall and had another Festria man and a Human man following behind her, as well as two additional sailors checking rooms and corridors in their wake - though they ignored any silk webbing on anything not in their way - they were making fast for the bridge.

Below deck, a single watchman heard the knock against the outer hull of the battleship. She immediately began running up to the main deck. Looking down over the rails she saw the single lifeboat slamming into the side of the battleship. She walked out and down the side of the hull until she reached the lifeboat and began to search it.
———
Below deck over a dozen Kumo sailors were already searching every nook and cranny they could find for any living soul or information. They largely ignored the other teams aboard aside from the Elenrians and were quick to give orders to the Elenrians to facilitate a faster search. Many of the Kumo began reporting to their superior, Takeda. "Ma'am no signs of life anywhere in the bunkroom. No signs of any sort of struggle. It almost looked as if every member of the crew just up and left." "Ma'am, I can say about the same for the canteen. It seems like it was abandoned mid-meal. However, we did find a single dead Koian inside, and uh... its eyes were gone." "Ma'am we found the cargo manifest. Everything seems in order, except for the fact that this ship has no delivery port marked."
Takeda looked baffled after receiving all this information. She ran her fingers through her golden hair, "What the hell happened here?" She took a few moments to think, "It's clear that the gaelians had nothing to do with it at the very least. Well, at least not these specific gaelians. Maybe she was struck by a u-boat and the crew abandoned ship? I feel like there are too many remaining lifeboats for that to be true. If there were a mutiny we'd be seeing a lot more bodies or at least more blood. All teams continue investigating, Oshiro and Tsutsui go make nice with the Gaelians and Roskanans, see if they've found anything we haven't." "Aye aye, ma'am" Both women saluted and went to look for the other parties. "Takeuchi," Takeda continued dolling out orders. "Get a message back to the captain. Report everything we've found so far and tell her to make a message for Koi informing them we've found their ship and that it's become derelict." "Aye, ma'am!"
Oshiro and Tsutsui began searching for the others and found a group of them quickly. "Hey listen, we're sorry about our captain accusing you guys of piracy. It's pretty obvious you all didn't do this. She's just got a chip on her shoulder cuz she lost some family during the war." Tsutsui made up on the spot. "Whatever happened here, is beyond just our scope, and we're hoping we can still all work together to figure this out." Oshiro and Tsutsui offered a kind-hearted smile to the crew before them.
———
A completely separate team of Kumo, searching the upper side of the ship approached the group standing before the mangled hatch that lead to the bridge. The three of them took a few seconds to look upon the situation and then their leader smiled. "Can't get in huh?" She laughed to herself, "Cmon girls. Follow me." She used the butt of her rifle to smash open a porthole and climbed out. The team clung to the walls and climbed to the front of the bridge and smashed open the window. The team carefully climbed in and began to search the bridge.

"Koian Port Authority. Several requests from same coordinates received. Acknowledged. Emergency Response Fleet Number 0-4 has been dispatched to the coordinates provided. Be advised expected travel time is four days fifteen hours from the closest Koian port. Team has been dispatched to closest friendly port. Nearby transport convoy has been alerted. Five hours away, capable of towing vessel to nearest port for inspections. Please keep us updated on the situation."
The lifeboat would be entirely empty, save for an emergency flare that seemed to already have been fired due to the residue on the flare gun. A life preserver would also be jammed up under one of the seats, its buckle caught between the hull of the lifeboat and the metal bench seat. Checking over the gun further, it still reeked of gunpowder, likely having been fired not too long ago.
The groups that searched the cargo holds found one of the emergency hatches into the ore piles would be opened, with some staol spilled out into walkway. The lock that held it closed was plainly open, the key still inserted into the lock. Several bootprints were visible having trudged through the pile, all moving the same direction towards the rear of the ship where the tower is. As the ship rocked, a few more small pieces of staol would drop through the open hatch, though it seemed by this point any that would try to escape through the hatch has already found its way to the hallway floor. That's when it'd be noticed the hatch itself wasn't moving at all with the waves. One of the hinges had somehow been welded such that it forced the door open.
A sudden bang echoing through the cargo hold would grab the crews' attention, alerting them to the fact several of these emergency hatches were in fact open, the rest just moving with the rocking of the cargo vessel.
The soldiers who made their way into the bridge would be met with a scene of serenity. Weirdly. It would look as if the crew just up and left. Some of the navigation charts would be hanging off the consoles, holding on by still semi-filled coffee cups. As they'd search around the room, they'd see the floor had been physically bent before the doors, blocking them from being pushed open on top of the bent frames. Probably some weight would be enough to move that stop and force the doors open.
That's when one of the soldiers would feel a chill run up their spine as they walk past the steering wheel, as if they were being watched. A single idle step would make them slip as they step on something relatively squishy compared to the metal flooring. As they'd hit the floor and roll to get up, that's when they'd notice the blood coating the ground, an arm outstretched where they just stepped. Looked to be human, male, likely of Northern descent based on the pale skin color. The skin would be partially cut open from where it was stepped on. But it was connected to the body still.
Or what was left of it.
Mangled under the console housing the steering wheel would be another corpse, folded awkwardly to fit neatly under the machinery. Likely several broken bones to make it work too. And they'd be staring out from under directly towards the fallen sailor, staring with a bloodied, eyeless gaze.
During this time, the one who had led the three into the room would find another corpse, hidden away under some bloodied papers and maps beneath the captain's desk. Koian, Celöösan descent. On their sleeve would be the Koian Staol Seaways logo right beneath the captain's insignia, letting them know exactly who it was they found. Their face would be turned away from the room, making their facial features unknown for now. One sleeve would be hanging limply, one of their arms missing with a large pool of blood staining their outfit, showing it was a fresh wound.
All aboard the ship wouldn't have much time to process what was happening as the emergency bell suddenly rang throughout the ship, bright orange lights flashing next to each of the bells. Small placards under the lights would show the following words: Dust Warning.

The Elenrians were quite clearly not absolutely thrilled with the potential prospect of finding more eyeless bodies, but they pressed on anyways. Some nodded simple, unspoken goodbyes to the Gaelians as they headed downstairs, but most kept quiet and fixed their eyes on the surroundings, fixated on their job. Raising their kerosene lanterns and peeked into room after room, calling out to survivors. Eventually, they found themselves in the cargo holds, and while some of them eyed the orange minerals with a sort of curiosity, those at the front of the column noted the open hatches. Some peered into them, holding their lanterns over the open holds, but they mostly remained confused- what had happened here?
One of the sailors had only just noticed the weld that left the hatch sealed open.
"Petty Officer, the hatch is welded-"
The screech of klaxons drowned out his words as orange light bathed the hold. The sailors spun about in alarm and confusion, and it took a moment before they realized they ought to evacuate. In the din that left several sailors wincing in pain, the sailors reformed their column and began to try and file out of the hold.

GrahamCommander Graham and his team gave back a silent friendly nod to the Elenrians, his team weren't thrilled about the Kumo being down here with them but left to head toward the deck area for the cargo area. They tailed closely to the Elenrians but stayed out of their way, they stood back as the Elenrians noticed the door was wielded shut but jumped when the loud sound of the other hatches began slamming. "This is wrong, they were trying to contain something." Graham muttered, his team winced as the alarms blared off, "AHHHH HELL! Go top Side!" the Gaelians raced out of the cargo room while Graham waited for the Elenrians to exit first. He paused momentarily though looking at the wielded door, 'we need to get off this ship' he thought to himself and ran to catch up to the others. BrownBrown and her team of marines trailed behind the Kumo, her face brimming with anger at the spiders, "fuckin cunts think we'll just forget them floatin' the idea they'd kill us...pffft" as they entered the bridge again silence greeted them. "Look around and stay away from the bloody webbers" the Gaelians looked over the bridge, the scene was surreal Brown went to look at the navigation charts as one of her privates neared the steering wheel. He felt a cold harsh feeling, eyes on him, no it has to be the Kumo right? Brown went to walk over and look at some other charts when she slipped, embarrassed she exclaimed "cock fuckin stupid Koi lamp loving sons of bit-" she stopped swearing as she noticed getting up...this was blood all over the floor. "What the fuck!?" she was now feeling it, adrenaline pumping into her. She pulled out her flashlight looking at the floor and saw the arm and what was left of a body. She went into fight or flight mode, placing her flashlight into her front chest pocket and pumped a round into her shotgun. "Team fall on me!" she looked over the Kumo in the room with them, "Suda! you see anything over there!?" DerrickDerrick was exhausted, the rain was also seeping into his very soul he felt, "blasted weather". He reached his deck crew and began ordering them to enter the cargo area, "Graham's team didn't find anything, but there's Elenrians down there do a kind thing and check on them won't you?" a group of ten Gaelians went back down below to reach the Elenrians. Derrick looked around, there wasn't much left on deck but what few people hadn't left his group, maybe three marines that stayed behind to guard them, the Roskanan group and some Kumo. A loud shrill broke out, "OY! ALARM!" Derrick looked around on the deck for what it could be, he saw a orange glow in the distance toward the main structure of the ship and walked to it covering his ears, "Dust warning?". Derrick realized he just sent in a group down below, "SHIT, Ay YOU!" he ran over to the marines left on deck "run down there and bring them lads back! and do you have respirators!?" they exchanged confused looks, "Yes sir, its a staol ship-" Derrick interrupted them "GREAT! Go then!" he then waved over his radio man, "Tell the Tython of the alarm, hell tell everyone! DO NOT FIRE AT THIS SHIP! We might have to evacuate" the radio man began firing up his BC-153 frequency radio, "What about the survivors sir?" Derrick shook his head, "I don't know, I...I don't know if their are any."

The alarms would make the Roskanans generally startled, but the groups on the vessel were not deterred - klaxons meant something was wrong in this scenario, not that they were under attack. The ones near the bridge simply left, and returned to the deck after a moment, collecting their men and as well, using hand-signals to communicate with the other ship. Eventually the cruiser pulled in a bit closer and would lay planks to allow for their troops to move off of the ship and onto the staol transport.
The Roskanans would generally begin to move back onto the cruiser, with only one team remaining aboard, all of them being Marines. They would begin to make their way back below decks, all of them armed with shotguns and sidearms, trying to assertain the state of the ships engines and other systems. Meanwhile, the Roskanan ship would radio back to the mainland, asking for a status update on their support and as well, on if a ship from Koi had been dispatched.

The bridge team looked on in horror at the sights within. "Ancestors guide me..." Kimiko Suda said almost inaudibly. The team closely inspected the corpses. "Ma'am, this one has been deliberately shoved under here. Shattered his bones to crush him into all this machinery." One sailor spoke out. "And this one looks like it was attempted to be hidden. Or... maybe buried?" Suda climbed over to look at the dead koian. "Skies above. That's the captain. Search him and all of these documents." "Yes ma'am." Both sailors responded.
---------
Back aboard the Kōun'na hi, Captain Nishimoto received the transmission from Koi and began drafting a response. "Koian Port Authority. This is Kumosenkan battleship Kōun'na hi. We are on deck and currently investigating the situation. If your damaged vessel is deemed seaworthy we can perform basic damage control and provide a tow to a friendly port. Staying in these rough waters while waiting for a tow seems unwise."

The Roskanans would receive the same message as the Kumo, the transmission on several frequencies and uncoded to ensure all the ships around were aware of the situation.
Further transmissions would trickle through. Please advise on port ship will be towed to when able. Full control of situation left to all vessels present. If ship is unsalvageable, please ensure safety of the crew at minimum.
As the search crews from the cargo hold flood back above deck, they're once again met with the dreary drizzle and heavy fog surrounding the location. The ship rocks heavily side-to-side with the waves, the other ships surrounding the stranded vessel also struggling amongst the waves.
The speakers of the Roskanan cruiser would crackle to life before the deck crew blast a message to the group. "ROGUE WAVE INCOMING. BRACE FOR IMPACT."
The Kumo battleship would follow rather quickly. "Burēsu! Burēsu!"
The Gaelian destroyer would be the last to speak up, directly addressing the two cargo ships. "Search crews, Elenrians, brace!"
The Roskanan cruiser would be the first hit from the rear by the wave, lifting the cruiser somewhat out of the water as it rides the wave and falls back below, jostling the crew but otherwise the ship survives it easily. The Koian cargo ship would be the next struck, hitting the ship directly on the port side, dumping several hundreds of gallons of water pouring onto the deck. The strength of the wave would lift the vessel, making everyone on board feel weightless for a moment, before the entire ship comes crashing back down into the ocean below on its side, throwing the search crews inside to the starboard walls while the crews on deck slid into the retaining wall of the deck. The metal of the ship would pop and groan, straining as the weight of the cargo shifts around.
The Kōun'na hi and the Tython would be hit next, the Tython having it worse with their starboard side to the wave, though their angle would be less direct than the cargo vessel's. Both ships would be rocked hard as the wave moves across them.
The Usio would be the last hit, its small size making it move violently in the wave, but its angle ensured it remained upright in the aftermath of the wave.
