Auclair floundered, not quite knowing what to do herself. Clearly Pareau must think Marrlan could offer them something, otherwise they wouldn't have sent her the telegram. "The material would be more than welcome, but those PMC contracts would probably be Franerre's best hope. She may not be a true republic, but Franerre is a democracy through and through, and we're happy to support and fight for our fellow democracies as I'm sure you can ask any of your soldiers who came home from Tafatu. Kumosenkan is an autocratic empire that hardly knows the meaning of the word 'democracy.' I can't say I know the price those PMCs usually cost, but Franerre would almost certainly be willing to pay it. One cannot exactly put a price tag on sovereignty."

"I can put you in contact with them, but the last time the Marrlan government called upon their services was the independence war. We have no idea what their pricing would be. What little I know, Holters might be best though your having a king may cause some issues still." She'd walk over to a stack of paper on her desk and sort through a few before pulling one from the stack, "As for the arms, you already should have some catalog for Rolbeck arms considering your license for production with them. MMR-21s have been more popular as of late, they most likely have a larger stock of them you can purchase." She'd flip the catalogue book over and point the rifle she mentioned.
"Ammo would definitely have to be made to order unless you think you have the time to wait for them to rechamber it or are already sitting on a pile of .30-30."

"I'm afraid we don't have time for either," Felicia sighed. "Still, I thank you for being so helpful. I'll pass all of this onto Pareau. We will remember this, Korsky. Now how about those PMC contacts of yours?"

Korsky would sort through multiple papers, before calling for her secretary. She'd finally give up searching the papers and asked her to get a messenger to drive to their office. About 20 minutes later, a representative was standing in the room with them. After the situation had been explained, the man flatly stated 47,000,000 Marrlan Dollars per division would be his price. Korsky's Eyes would bulge slightly and her mouth would flatten into a line at the figure he was asking. She spoke up in protest but he simply raised a hand and said, "The king has too much power." Korsky would look back at Felicia and the man, Andy Venture, would do the same.

"I hope you don't take offense to me saying this," Felicia responded, "But I'm hardly a military woman - I don't know the first thing about this. You'll have to forgive me if Franerre wasn't ever expecting to need to hire Marrlanner PMCs. What I was hoping for was a list of your numbers, equipment, and experience and such that I could pass on to the people who know more what they're doing."

The man would rummage in his pocket for a moment before pulling out an ORBAT, he then pulled a notepad out from his jacket pocket, jotted something down, then placed it on top of the paper. It was a separate list with some specifications on what they intended to bring. "Give them this then." Amongst other details, the note listed that roughly 39% of their number was veterans of both the surprise and the border war with the rest being professionals trained by said veterans. The company is about 42,000 strong [They can field 4 Divisions] (35% Rel 40% Shazzak 25% Human) and uses surplus equipment, and with the looseness of Marrlan firearm laws, has field guns, grenades, supply vehicles, and bolt actions and the like at its disposal.

The numbers were sent back to Franerre, and after a week's worth of travel time and deliberation, this was the General Staff's counter offer. A sum of 3 million Marrlan Dollar's worth of silver would be owed to them upon their arrival in the port city of Desterque. From there, they would be taking the rail to the city of Touboune, on the Franerri side of the River Taln. Once fighting began, they would be owed 37 million Marrlan Dollar's worth in silver for the duration of the fighting. Along with it was a message; "If you think Franerre's King has too much power, the Empress makes him looks like a shining pillar of democracy."

"We can't accept that." The man would say blankly, "Silver means nothing right now it's completely crashed, it's practically worthless now." "And this note-" He would say his face twisting into something of slight annoyance, "That is clear as day yes, however, our words still ring true. It doesn't change anything and dodging a basic fact of how the system works doesn't help your case at all." He'd look up from the paper with a frown.

"What exact powers do you consider 'too much' for the King to have?" Felicia asked. "I certainly can't guarantee this will come to anything - in fact, I can pretty much guarantee the opposite by pure common sense. I'm just indulging in a curiosity."

"The king can overrule your parliament and continues to do so by strong-arming them into acts. There are no checks and balances for him beyond rising up."
