"Sounds like a good plan... What about you? Shall you be doing the same? Importantly, would you be updating your coastal forts on the Southern coast?"

"At the current moment, we'd need to secure funding for the project, which would only come if MiniPlent, MiniDev, MiniSup, and the Fed all agree on that. So as it stands, more than likely not. We rely more on our coast guard for the first line of defense than our ground troops."

"Since the national security of Tyvia depends on Staol, around 90% of which comes from you, it also, in part, depends on you keeping your sovereignty. The Empire would be willing to co-fund the projects for coastal defenses.

"As we don't see a threat at the moment, nor within the near future, we'd like to hold off until our own bureaucracy decides we should. While we're friends with Amali, we don't want them thinking we're trying to keep them out by building up along the southern coast."

Meanwhile, back in Novgoród, Dem'janenko was finalizing an update on the trade deal with Leavitt.
"So..." he said, as he was reading through the new documents, pointing at the writing with a closed pen so that he doesn't lose where he's at. "Ida Koi shall increase the export of unprocessed Staol to Tyvia by 40,000 tons per month. Tyvia, in return, shall export 5,000 tons of titanium per month, and have access to an additional 100 Tyvian civilian factories reserved to be leased exclusively to Ida Koi for the next 12 months." He then looked up at Leavitt. "Does that seem correct?"

Kym would nod, looking over the documents at the same time as he does to ensure it all looks good. "That would seem correct." She would open her own pen, signing the deal, before slipping the document back to Alexandr for him to sign.
"That should be plenty for both sides. Once you've signed it, I'll get a copy sent back home and let them know to expect new shipment orders."

"Excellent," Dem'janenko said, as he placed his own signature at the end of the dozen-page document. He then stood up, extending his arm for a handshake. "It is pleasure doing business with you, Miss Leavitt."
