Scene: Sablien 11th, 1931
Field HQ of Field General Tyrann, North Valdera
Field General Tyrann considered the reports in front of him within his tent office. Summer deployment had seen the man to assure the northern trade route was protected during the increased trade seen during the few warm months of the year. While the towns and settlements strewn across the lands of Valdera were relatively peaceful, the threat posed by the ‘ganglank’ to the North was still to be considered. To that end, the General had been deployed with a twelve thousand strong deployment of Standard Infantry, six thousand Carabiners, and three hundred Field Artillery. These forces had been raised over the course of the winter and spring season's, and been issues the standards of what the Mil'Nor could produce.
In particular, there were concerns among the newly formed government about possible actions taken by the Xagreau government. Kujar Gentaki’s previous actions towards what he considered “non-toulian” people had been tolerated only because of the Clans own internal policies and isolation from its neighbors. However, with the establishment of the northern railroad, security would need to be tightened against one so extreme in their views.
To the Field General, this would provide nothing more than an opportunity to prove his worth to his superior. The nation needed a foe to direct the anger sparked from the High Chief’s death, and directing the people’s frustration towards a foriegn foe would keep them from trying to fight one another, at least in the short term. Tyrann smiled to himself as he stamped out yet another requisition form. Official orders were to take defensive actions should the region turn hot, but as Tyrann looked over the intel provided by scouts, a scheme of his own would start to form.
All he would need was a reason.
