Most military forces are in the jurisdiction of the states that fund and supply them with personal, the overall Confederate Army is organized by the weakened central government and stands as the only real unified Mestrian body that functions in some capacity of competence.
Each state supplies the CA with soldiers, materials and some funds but always put their own militias ahead of the common military.
When it comes to doctrine, the Mestrians believe in quantity over quality. Light infantry are preferred along with heavy infantry which are supplied with better equipment such as helmets and light machine guns. Mestria has repelled foreign invasions for centuries with its large military capacity when amassed, but modern warfare might change this strength.
The large backbone of the Confederate Army, light infantry wear uniforms of their respective states and are usually only armed with Mestrian bolt action rifles. Their organization is largely dependent on a supply column and large base encampment, individual soldiers don't carry any kind of rations, medical supplies or equipment which is supplied to them by mule pulled carts. Their training is rather suspect especially given how little war Mestria sees, some soldiers train for two weeks while others a few days before being given a rifle and uniform. Corruption in some states has allowed nepotism to allow favored family members into high ranking roles of state military.

Human examples of light infantry
Heavy infantry
Heavy infantry in the CMS are organized Confederate soldiers, trained for a month and given proper uniforms, helmets, rations, medical supplies and access to light machine guns. Confederate soldiers look down on their state army counterparts and are only matched by their Eastern state cousins who receive similar equipment and training.

Chongpo Type 1 rifle
The primary weapon of choice for the Mestrian military, this bolt action rifle uses a 7.62mm round that is loaded into an inbody tube located underneath the main rifle. It requires the user to hold back the bolt while inserting all six rounds to reload making it a rather slow process to reload compared to other Ouhiri rifles. Bullet quality is also an issue as outside the Eastern states many factories have subpar quality production and the CMS failed to reach a deal with Lusatia in supplying them their ammunition.
Debick Light machine gun
A light machine gun slapped together to counter other regional powers developing machine guns and light machine guns, the Debick fires a 7.62mm crescent magazine that is loaded with 30 rounds. It is notorious for jamming and is considered by many Mestrian soldiers to be temperamental in mud and dirt.

Neurin tank
Adopted to support infantry divisions in the Eastern states and Confederate military, the Neurin tank is based off some tankette designs observed by Mestrian officials. It has a 30 caliber machine gun and a 25mm main gun, it is slow and underpowered. The armor isn't the strongest as it is made from Mestrian steel, a easy to brittle and break metal.

Most of the mestrian army is heavily dependent on horses, donkeys and mules to travel. Motorized infantry divisions don’t exist.
The mestrian rail industry is often mocked by the Koi and UKUG for being poorly ran and operated by dozens of small companies who use cheap outdated underpowered locomotives and wild designs that simply cannot work.
Roach revolver. Infamous in design this revolver has no safety or even guard for its trigger, the safety being its single action many accidents with this .40 round handgun
