With the end of the Tafatu Liberation finally at hand with the peace conference in Noscovo, and with all the relevant Toulian states in one place, there would be no better time than now for Franerre to make her play. The Franerri party knew that their situation was extremely tenuous on the home front, but they would either weather the storm and build the railroad, or fall and have much larger things to worry about. The representatives from the Kithium League, the Republic of Valdera, the Ashinaran Hetmate, the Tafatu Republic, the Bian, and the Union of South Touli were all invited to a meeting aboard the KFS Setange, for a proposal concerning the ‘economic future of Touli,’ away from the prying eyes of Gaelia and Kumosenkan.
Once those who had accepted the invitation arrived onboard, they were welcomed up to the ship’s bridge. The bridge was absent the usual flurry of officers, and had been emptied of all save those necessary for making sure nothing went catastrophically wrong while the representatives were on board. The most important feature of the room were the chairs surrounding a large central table, usually filled with ocean maps and naval charts, but was now dominated by a large map of most of Touli, cutting off Elenria, Eleria, and Ashinara in the west. The map was old, the new territorial changes following the Tafatu Liberation drawn on the map with pencil to the best of the ship’s cartographers ability. The exact borders of the Bian were still fuzzy at best, and the name of Boamba had been done over with a small layer of white paint, now reading Razu, but it was as up to date as Franerre could get it on such a short notice.
The most interesting addition to the map, however, was not made last minute. The large rail line stretching from Elenerre in the west all the way to Tel’Amore in Mil’Nor in the east was what the map had been created for, given the large title on top that read “Draft of the Pan-Touli Railroad, 1915.” A section of the rail line had to be redrawn, following the Galran seizure of land from the Union, but the rail line connected most major cities in all countries they passed through with each other. King Dante sat at the furthest end of the table, flanked by Marshal Zelgius and Foreign Minister de Angelis on either side of him, waiting for everyone to arrive.
