A Matter of Interest [Valdera-Franerre diplo]

News of the Kumo-Franerre conflict had caused a good deal of deliberation in the Valderan government behind closed doors. While the aid of the Spider had seen a great deal of improvement of the nation over the past several season, their invasion of Elenria had not been forgotten, nor the reports of how peace in the UST war had been practically dictated by those from across the sea. Arriving at the Frannerre embassy, Kathrine Tolvaj was hopeful that the outlanders would at least consider the proposal she had for them.

The Franerri embassy welcomes Tolvaj with open arms. Gustaw Barbier, the Franerri ambassador, sat behind his desk in the embassy's office as the Valderan party entered. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Gustaw asked.

"A sales offer, strange as it may seem." Kathrine replied as she took her seat. "With our victory over the Xagreau complete, we have found a great deal of excess weaponry in our stockpiles. Given the news out of your homeland, we are willing to offer discounts for equipment, with costs of transport handled by our own means"

"How much?" Gustaw asked, perking up. He resisted the urge to leap out of his seat and hug the woman in front of him. "Both quantity and cost wise."

"We can offer the arms and ammunition to field roughly two hundred thousand of your men, as well as four hundred artillery pieces to be used in your war. The cost for such a purchase will run you roughly twelve million jewel, all things considered" Kathrine said "Beyond that, I ask that we be allowed to send an attaché to aid in your efforts and oversee the delivery and payment of our goods."

"How modern is this equipment you're willing to send?" Gustaw asked further, "And how much ammunition for these weapons are you willing to send?"

[Kira]

"Our equipment from Pomaznniki will suffice, along with enough ammunition for operations for at least two seasons." Kathrine repiled "We are willing to offer further support, if your coffers will allow. We will however request that our attche be allowed to oversee the use of these weapons. Our war with the Xagreau has taught us a great deal about their use, and we would like to continue our studies as well as aide you in your fight"

“There’s only one last thing before we consider this done and dusted,” Gustavo said, “How exactly are you planning on getting this to Franerre? You can ship it in over the ocean, and an on land route would need to go through the UST.”

"Our supplies will be shipped to you through the southern border with the UST. I know it is unfortunately the slower route, but our involvement must be kept from being discovered" Kathrine said

"I'll leave the logistics of it to you, then, and I'll get a telegram out to Pareau as soon as possible." Gustaw doubted the Valderan's ability to get their troops across as smootly as they said, but he had no better options.

"Then we shall see to it's transit immediately. Just be aware that this will have to be off the books. The weapons will have their identifying marks removed, and we mustn't led the Spider know of our hands." Kathrine smiled, the woman giving the Fanerri a smug look as she spoke "Officially, our attaché will cover as a Expedition from the old Elenrian Empire. We can use the idea of funding old nationalist groups against the Kumo to ensure they don't know where this particular support is coming from."
