Ae-Ri Ryang is the Queen of the Queendom of Mestri and Empress of the Confederation of Mestrian States, serving in her position since ascending to the throne in 1922 at the age of 25 after the untimely death of her mother. Her reign has been relatively peaceful, typically only having to deal with the squabbles of her subjects while outsiders have for the most part left her Confederation alone. The eldest of five, Ae-Ri was chosen to take her mother's place by the Electors of the CMS. Her siblings have gone on to run local businesses around the capital of Aererun. Much like her mother, her rule has been relatively soft compared to Empresses before, even paling in comparison to her Grandmother who was viewed as one of the harshest rulers of the modern era from many, including foreign nations.

Despite her mother's untimely passing, her Grandmother, Ja-Ok Ryang, is still alive, being 103 at Ae-Ri's ascension to the throne. She occasionally provides Ae-Ri with leadership advice and counseling when asked, though she typically remains reclused to her estate in the coastlands of the Mestri Heartland with her servants and concubines.

Queen Ja-Ok "포식자" [rom. Posigja] Ryang, mother of Hyon-Suk and grandmother of Ae-Ri. She is known for using her powers to make subjects subservient to her.
