Matcześć is a religion with a distinctive theological perspective, practiced primarily within the Ivrit community of Wyspy HaZoria. This polytheistic faith holds the belief that all gods from various religions exist and are deserving of reverence in one way or another, and as a result, many of its adherents previously followed other faiths or maintain public appearances of different religious affiliations to avoid scrutiny. The founding myth of Matcześć recounts that all gods collaborated in creating the universe, but their efforts were uncoordinated, resulting in the emergence of diverse sapient species. To address this disarray, a singular god assumed control, instituting rules to ensure a cohesive vision of creation. This god, however, grew tyrannical and resorted to brutal measures to quash dissent, prompting a rebellion by the other deities. Following the rebel gods' triumph, the heavens divided, with many gods withdrawing to their own domains, abandoning the collective enterprise. Nevertheless, several deities remained, committed to the notion that the pantheon could work together in harmony to construct a superior world. They established the "Republic of Heaven" and propagated their message among their followers.
Deities
The Fallen
The story of The Fallen, the first deity to resist the tyrannical regime, is a poignant one in the Matcześć faith. She was once a revered member of the pantheon, a loyal servant who carried out her duties with utmost dedication. However, her unwavering faith was tested when she began to witness the tyrant's oppression firsthand. She dared to challenge the regime and was met with a brutal punishment, her wings were stripped from her and her name was destroyed, rendering her unrecognizable and unworshiped. Despite being cast out of the heavens, The Fallen was not completely forgotten. A small group of devotees continued to offer her veneration, providing her with the strength she needed to recover from her ordeal. She emerged stronger than ever before and became the General of the Republican Armies, leading the disenfranchised and weak to victory against the tyrant. Upon defeat of the tyrant, The Fallen refused the throne that could have restored her original name and instead accepted the title of "The Fallen," which was once an insult and a reminder of her destruction. By embracing this name, she symbolized that so long as one believes, they can overcome even those perceived as almighty. Her story serves as a testament to the power of faith and determination, and as a reminder that even the most powerful can be brought down by the will of the people.
Neytirix
Neytirix is a significant deity within the Matcześć faith and is regarded as the Guardian of Souls. This deity holds the responsibility of guiding all those who pass away and wish to enter the afterlife. As per the beliefs of Matcześć, every soul, irrespective of its purity or impurity, is welcomed within Neytirix's domain and offered protection from the dark forces beyond. In the Matcześć faith, the souls that enter the afterlife are not judged by Neytirix, as this duty lies with the deity that the soul worshiped during their lifetime. Instead, Neytirix guides each soul to their place of eternal rest or back into the mortal realm, depending on their wishes. This act of guiding the souls is regarded as a sacred and vital duty. Neytirix's followers believe that they play a crucial role in protecting the gates of the heavens from the darkness that lurks beyond. These loyal troops of Neytirix serve as the first line of defense against the dark forces that threaten the sanctity of the afterlife. They are bound by their faith to defend the souls that enter the afterlife and to keep the darkness at bay, ensuring that the souls continue on their journey in the afterlife unimpeded.Overall, Neytirix holds a prominent place within the Matcześć religion, and its followers regard it with great respect and reverence. The deity's role in guiding souls into the afterlife and protecting them from the dark forces is a crucial aspect of the Matcześć faith and a fundamental belief of many of its followers.
