Republican forces were at a loss how to deal with the sudden quick invasion brought down on them, political officials always believed the alliance with Amali would keep such a thing from happening but as it occurred it was clear pomaz was poorly prepared for such an invasion.
The order was given from the capital, a state of emergency, all reserves were to be called forth to their respective commands and Pomaz began the hasty and desperate assembly of their military forces.
Two army formations would be sent to hit the pincer formed by the SU. The Republic was going to do everything it could to hold off the invasion from hitting their capital and splitting them apart.
Army group A was assigned the West, 500,000 motorized standard infantry, 200,000 motorized light infantry, 800 howitzers, 400 mortars, 250 siege artillery guns, 50,000 special infantry forces, 300 armored cars, 60 tankettes, and 10 landships.
Supporting group A were 25 recon bi-planes, 10 bomber bi-planes, and 10 fighter bi-planes.
Army group B was sent East, 100,000 motorized standard infantry, 200,000 motorized light infantry, 350,000 motorized heavy infantry, 100 armored cars, 40 tankettes, 10 landships, 500 howitzers, 500 mortars, 20,000 standard foot infantry.
They were supported by 10 fighter bi planes, 10 recon planes, 10 bomber bi planes.
The Pomaz Maijistires declared several passed war bills to prepare for what was being viewed as a war of survival as contact from amali could not be secured. Article 1 of the war bill named Yaromir Kulikov as Supreme Maijistrate of Pomaz along with all the powers of being a central leader of the Republic till the war ends. Article 2 per Kulikov is the state of Total War in Pomaz, seizure of all civilian factories in the production of war materials. Article 3 reach out for foreign aid and cooperation against the SU menace.

As the summer of 1935 approached, the vast green fields and hills of Pomaz bloomed with various flowers, grasses and trees sprouting their massive yield of green leaves. Birds and various animals went about to their business of eating, mating or just lazing about in the sun. In the distant background, pillars of smoke and explosions highlighted the warfront as Veraki, Oflyan and Sicelian forces brought down a brutal assault on the Pomaz forces. Trenches, dirt dug holes and hastily made bunkers sheltered the Pomaz forces from the artillery shelling and air raids for a moment but every day that passed meant Pomaz was slowly losing ground. Supplies were strained as the Maijistrie pushed more and more war time measures to force factories and even small shops to make everything from bullets to helmets to ship to the front. Pomaz needed help, the Maijistrie couldn't wait for Amali, a desperate run by the Pomaz navy to Kumo pleading for aid would have to be made. Using ships made from Gaelic hulls that highlighted the two faced arrangement made by the administration, it was something they would have to deal with in due time. For now the war took precedent. "HERE THEY COME!" Pomaz infantry chambered their rifles and mounted machine guns and began firing at scores of Sicelian and Oflyan infantry charging at their position. Come up slowly were Veraki light tanks, struggling as even this early in the war they mechanically struggled in the hilly terrain as they were built to cross the desert flats of Nevarra, Diria and the open fields of Amali. The Pomaz ground forces had their own ground forces holding firm with new armored trucks, light tanks and whatever landships were left from the first days of fighting. Up above fierce dogfighting ensued as Veraki bombers attempted to hit rear supply lines that were already struggling to keep up. The long days were being drawn as the Maijistire had to make a hard decision, pulling even more Pomaz into the war via a draft as reserves were no longer going to be enough to stall off the invasion. But for a small moment at the very least. The Pomaz Republic would get some help, when Orthorians raided their main rail station and burned it to the ground denying it to the enemy after capture. This forced Oflya to march troops on foot into Pomaz and devote more troops into hunting down the Orthorian resistance. Orthoria was also mounting a successful Western battlefront that was nagging the Oflyans harshly. With the occupation not complete and not wanting to upset the Veraki benefactors, the Oflya would have to focus on Orthoria for the summer of 35' giving Pomaz much needed relief in the West. The bitter cold. Pomazanniki was coated in snowfall, it fell in large scale flurries as the Winter quickly settled in. The people of the Winter Republic had come together, as they always had during harsh winters, but this one was different. The Veraki army was closing in and preparing to cross Kutulov river and make a strike for the capital. The Pomaz however had not waited with baited breath to allow their enemy to strike unhindered. They had spent the previous season training and producing soldiers, tanks, armored cars, trucks, aircraft and excess materials to play their role in the war effort. After decades of economic stalling the war brought to life a massive war economy that produced thousands of trucks, tanks, rifles, ammunition, and parts. 1,000,000 troops would meet the Veraki-Sicilian invasion force at the Kutulov, a frozen river where the fate of the Southern theater held in the balance. The Battle of the Kutulov began in a massive and defiant roar of artillery from Pomaz as enemy forces approached. Three bridges existed that crossed into Central Pomaz, these would be the main focus as Pomaz forces quickly rushed to defend them and Veraki forces moved to take them, Veraki forces weren't used to the harsh winter of Pomaz, while winter brought her ruthless cold air to Verak it wasn't this cold wet air that felt as if knives penetrated you at all times. Veraki vehicles also struggled to operate well in the cold, many tanks having to be warmed up and even still they performed poorly in the snow. Verak was determined to take out Pomaz from the war, the SU had become aware of the CoN conference and the last thing they needed was coordination among the defending nations. Pomaz sent emissaries to Kumosenkan for naval aid, to Orthoria to ship weapons and equipment across once the Ofylan front could be pushed back, to Amali for aid and finally joined the CoN formally. --- Pomaz strikes back The Oflyan front was starting to stabilize as Ofylan forces and Veraki observers were stopped dead in their tracks due to the harsh winter fall of snow. Pomaz forces swiftly arrived with motorized units deploying and reinforcing the beaten and exhausted troops who had been fighting a steady and bloody battle for well over a year. This annoyed Verak who had to consider sending reinforcements now as Ofyla was now facing potential defensive measures against Pomaz after taking large swaths of the West.

Forces were being mustered under the fractured Pomaz hegemony, for one moment all of the bickering entities came together in unity for their nation. Loyalists and Ultrafederalists in uniform looked to the foreign enemy now. Sarakhov would not be theirs to burn. The armies in the west organized a combined arms offensive. The clock struck midnight, and the beginning of the operation was marked by the blasts of artillery, burning away the darkness that haunted the horizon.
«МЫ ИДЕМ-!!!» "MYH IDYOM-!!!"
Furious blasts of thunder and wind break the bitter cold air miles away while the motorized infantry platoons lead the front as a screen for the main force cruising towards a frozen hell to come. The artillery orders were explicit in their targeting protocols, break the Verak hordes where they lie as the main force approaches, and no damage must come to the bridges. For when the time came, the growling wall of steel and its infantry support would dig in for battle.
Encircled armies in the Northwest would move under this cover of roaring night, attempting to disturb supply lines where they could while the Verak forces were immobile and encumbered. They would hope to find souls in occupied Pomaz willing to help break the foreign grip from their home.
