When Reito would have the time to read the letter given to her by the Ashinaran envoy at the Celebration of Peace in Pohiliin, before the event was rudely interrupted by the Galran envoy, she would find the following, penned with elegant handwriting in dark green ink:
To the esteemed and honorable Empress Reito Doku Kumo of Kumosenkan
I understand that there is a great deal of animosity between our nations, most of it stemming from third-party accounts - that is certainly the case for us, at the very least. We have come out of total isolation just in time to see your Empire expand into Elenria, with that leaving negative impression on my late father, King Gavrylo who ruled Ashinara before me. You know of our involvement in an alliance created by your chief rival, UKUG, after your invasion of our ally, Franerre - which, as we heard, also soured your relations with Valdera, who also joined the alliance. It is only through them that we gained our negative sentiment towards the Kumo people. With the exception of a few who travel or live abroad, most Ashinarans - myself included - have never even seen a Kumo, let alone speak to one. I have no way of knowing if you have any negative feelings towards us beyond those in response to our very likely misguided negative sentiments towards you, but the recent end to the tensions between you and UKUG that you have been able to come to has shone as a beacon in the fog to me - perhaps it is a gap that we could bridge as well. Please allow myself and an entourage of diplomats to visit you to establish diplomatic relations, and hopefully bring an era of peace and cooperation between our two nations.
Signed,
Queen Yuzura Skoropadska of the Ashinaran Hetmanate.
