The rapid expansion of the Royal Army was greatly taxing on the Ashinaran economy. One of the areas where it was starting to get noticed is boots - the factories were starting to run out of leather to make new army boots, and the leather-producing farms were starting to struggle to keep up with the demand. Because of this, the R&D department was given a task in exploring options to create an alternative material that boots can be made of. Several months of experiments have slowly started showing potential in combining heavy textiles with wax and rubber.
