With Xaschece and Smenya firmly in their control and being purged in a brutal crackdown of resistance cells, Galra's colonial military reached the borders of the Xaspeshi Federation.
President Fransico had ordered an emergency draft to answer the threat, 330,000 troops were hastily raised along with 250 field guns and 300 mortars, several trucks delivering supplies and troops to what was being called the Banktu line flowed with a sense of panic. Civilian vehicles were seized and the government ordered all rail traffic to be prioritized to building the defense. While Galra devoured Xaschece the Xaspeshi built an extensive trench line stretching for over 109 miles into the red clay earth of Western Xaspesh. The area still reeled from the recent Xagreau war as civilians were trafficked East to the urban cities.
Galra arrived with nothing short of sheer brute force, the Xaspeshi forward defenses were shattered and the Banktu line was straining heavily against aerial, howitzer and armored assault. Fransico knew it wasn't going to hold, he sent word to the UKUG and Mil'Nor, it was a desperate plea for anything that could be spared. It was predicted the line would crack in a week allowing Galra to puncture through and force the Xaspeshi military into an open battle out of the their earth dug defenses, something that had already been proven to be disastrous for the other pocket states of Eastern Touli.

The Valderan reinforcements soon arrived to reinforce their ally, with the Mil'Nor rushing their armored cars and tankettes to combat what they could of the Galrans' own armor. Trucks loaded with fresh troops rolled along the roads of Xapesh, with infantry immediately split between reinforcing Xaspeshi divisions and creating new trenches, tank and personal pitfalls, and new support facilities to aid in possible fallback. The few planes the Republic had were sent on scouting and limited interception roles, with the Mil'Nor establishing small dirt strips for the planes quick refuel and relay as the battlelines were identified. Orders were sent and adjusted heavily by the use of planes and trucks, with the latter being used for the retreat of wounded to the medical support camps being set up. An assortment of field artillery and other gunnery would be used to hammer the approaching Galrans, with a mix of heavy explosives and small motor fire raining down on both Galran infantry and armor.
General Tyrann would arrive to command the force, with a promise of further aid and troops sent from the Frozen Council. Between both the troops on the ground and those in the command staff, the Mil'Nor would work as best they could with the people of Xaspesh, with the alliance to defend against Xagreau still holding strong in the minds of those sent to fight.

The arrival of Mil'Nor reinforcements and the steady flow of drafted young men into the Federal army had created a fixed and brutal stalemate that finally stopped the Galran warmachine.
The initial Galran force was slowly outnumbered by the combined forces of Xaspeshi and Mil'Nor, causing a call for additional reinforcements from Wochourhiel and force drafted nearly 70,000 pocket natives into the Galran conscripted forces. Older biplane fighters that were being used in the Tafatu front were pulled to counter Mil'Nor's air deployment, dealing with the tankettes the Galrans would have to employ using field guns to stop armored assaults.
The exchange of heavy fire between both sides made it a bloody day in the red clayed earth of Western Xaspesh. Long stretches of trenches and dugouts began popping up across the Western plain showing yet another warfront being opened in the Great War.

Tottenham, Capital of Wochourhiel
"I want Touli cut in half!" The colonial governor, Governor-General Reverend Sullivan Waters, smashed his fist onto the table before him. "I don't fucking care how many bombs you drop! I don't care if you render the place entirely uninhabitable for centuries! I want this continent cut in half! They cannot keep helping each other!"
The Governor-General threw a holy text at one of the generals, that general dodging out of the way at the last second as they realized they were about to be hit. "I want every front isolated from one another, do I make myself bloody fucking clear?!"
Following this brief meeting, orders were sent out to the front lines to finish the invasion of Xaspesh and get further in their advances.
Walibi, town in Xaspesh
As the front was made aware of new orders, some sections were given extra orders on top. Company 156, located near the Xaspeshi town of Walibi in the East-Northeastern part of the country and actively fighting the entrenched soldiers there, would receive word they would be receiving additional armored units to help them break through. But, with this notice of armor units on their way, they had the order to soften up or remove the threat before them by any means necessary, along with a shipment from the homeland of new artillery shells.
Not ones to waste precious time, Company 156 would load red-capped shells into half their artillery, the other half receiving standard shells. One soldier would observe a new shell, looking it over and seeing the large etched skull with a large RV written beneath it. The crate it came in also had clear warning labels. DANGER. TOXIC. WEAR GAS MASK WHEN USING WITHIN 2500 FEET OF FRIENDLY POSITION. The soldiers handling the crate were extremely careful. They had almost 100 shells, and were setting up to use 30 here and now.
Later that evening, with the sun to their backs and with the blow of a whistle, the artillery would all open fire, the normal shells being fired first to pepper the trenchline of the Xaspeshi and Valderans. As the opposing forces ducked for cover, the red-capped shells soon came smacking into the ground, releasing a bright red smoke into the air. At first, it seemed to only obscure the vision of the soldiers, before it would begin to burn like someone had just throw cayenne pepper into their faces. As soldiers closed their eyes and mouths to keep the gas out, one would find they couldn't. They couldn't control anything about their face. Left to take in more of the painful gas, soon falling to the muddy floor and convulsing. Soon, many would start facing the same fate, their muscles being relaxed and taken from their control as the gas seemed to steal away control of their own bodies, and as those who survived the onslaught of artillery shells began to realize, it was already too late. This gas was paralyzing their muscles, shutting down their bodies while they're still alive. The screams from the soldiers could be heard across the desolate warzone, the Galrans having to cover their ears with earmuffs to drown out the sounds of the blood-curdling screams and anguished cries of the dying. Thankfully enough of those were included in the shipment too.
As an hour passed and the sun was just getting ready to set fully behind the horizon, a few potshots were fired across the no man's land to the Xaspeshi lines to test if there was still any survivors. As minutes passed and no shots were returned, the Company would write down the results of the test before reloading the artillery. The guns were turned towards the town of Walibi, firing the remaining red-capped shells across the town; onto roofs, over the streets, into gutters and sewers, smashing through windows. They were gonna ensure there would be no resistance, firing shells around the town and the defensive line through the course of the night.
As the sun began to rise and the first strands of daylight burned away the remaining gas clouds, the Galran soldiers looked on at the trenchline and town beyond, both devoid of life. The troops would cautiously cross no man's land, some donning their gas masks just in case, before hopping into the Xaspeshi trenches. Several hundred Xaspeshi and Valderan infantry lay dead, either blown apart by the shrapnel of the barrage or their body having ceased to function and dropping dead from asphyxiation or organ failure.
Seemed Project RV was a success.
Several hours later, Company 156 would be joined by Colonial Tank Corp 14, comprised of eight Bastilus heavy tanks and twenty GAC-Longstreet light tanks, plus some trucks to help move the troops and artillery faster. They'd begin their push deeper in Xaspeshi territory along the Zedonian border, having broken the line in such a way that word was unable to make it to the rest of the front lines.

With the continued onslaught of the Galran warmachine showing no general slowdown along the front, General Tyrann would put forward a formal request of reinforcements to supplement both the frontline and further build fallbacklines for the allied defenses. Select roads towards the capital would be made impassible as a desperate effort to stem the invaders, with scrap metal blockades and improbised explosive laid whereever possible along main routes. Infomation about these routes would be kept as confidential as possible, with the Mil'Nor officers only sharing the infor with their allies own command staff and what passed as a local leader in the civillian communities affected. General evacuation efforts were maintained despite, or rather to spite the Galran cleansing.
With the General's request, a flood of new troops would come by rail and truck to the front. Amoung the standard infantry and field guns sent, the Taratect-mounted Carabineer force of the Republic would arrive. Atop each mount of a Taratect would seat two Mil'Nor, the smaller creatues easily able to find room atop the large spider. Staioned as a 'driver&gunner' pair, these special forces would be prepared for a counter offesive from the edge of Valdaran/Kith/Xapesh border. Aided by reacon done by what their fledgling airforce could provide, the main thrust of the offensive was directed into and rightways arch towards the Xaspesh capital.
The encroach of the Galran armor and spearhead would doubtless cause issues for the defenders of the Xaspesh capital, but until word was able to reach the rest of the frontline, Valderan forces were left only with little ancitipation for what was rolling towards them. ~ Reinforements: 300k StandardInfantry 20k HeavyInfantry 12k CaraBineers 800 FieldArtillery 200 FieldHowitzers 500 Trucks

Muhanhango, Central Xaspesh - Xaspeshi Side
General Elesbaan Gebriael of the Xaspeshi Fourth Army stared down his numbers. Under his directive within the center of the country, he was beginning to spend more time focusing on number-crunching than he was devising plans for assaults to take back his country. Troop numbers kept rising, as did the need to feed them all. Any mention of shortages were quickly met with outbursts that would die off as fast as they showed up. The man was stressed, and after the fifth time looking at the numbers from the logistics corps and the medical corps, he was beginning to realize the issue. "Get me a meeting with the Valderan officers. Immediately." His aide simply left the room, going to retrieve whatever officers they could find.
As the group assembled in his tent, he would give them simple instructions. "Our logistics cannot handle the influx of people. You're gonna have to redeploy at least half of what you just added. We don't have the supplies to feed everyone, on top of the influx of refugees fleeing from the half of the country that's been occupied. As well as we're beginning to run out of medicine. We need some of your troops to leave. And with the coming spring I fear we won’t even have the mobility to get supplies around. We’re better off moving people out."
He’d pause a moment. “And we don’t have fuel. Anyone who gets stuck too long would just have to abandon their trucks because there will be no help from us to get them refueled.”
Kininigi, Central Xaspesh - Galran Side
With the winter season drawing to a close and the snow beginning to melt, Galra’s advances would slow down as the frozen-packed ground soon changed to mud. The logistics teams were battling the slow-growing mud to keep their fronts supplied, but were certainly fairing much better than the Xaspeshi side. The addition of armor corps to the various forward companies soon found they had to redeploy to ensure they weren’t caught in the mud, picking areas where there was less snowfall over the winter.
The northern 58th Company was able to make better speed due to their tanks and mobility, navigating through the better terrain of northern Xaspesh. Without any real resistance, they began to move deeper into hostile territory, before they’d reach the town of Shaka. With only the local police as any semblance of a presence, the town capitulated quickly. A few civilians managed to flee, but most wound up just staying home, continuing their daily lives with the overwatch of the Galran military police as the 58th continued on deeper into the territory.

Joined by several of his own staff and a singular guard, Genera; Tyrann took a long drag of his cigar, the lizard's face drawn into a deeper scowl then usual. "A shame these reports didn't get to us before the loss of life it caused. We'll see to a redoublement of supplies from our own end, and I'll send word to our goverment to see to what other support can be added. I can't imagine the Galrans have been without issue traversing so far from their own borders, so we must see that our own forces don't suffer these issues as a persistant." ~ Valderan Front: With winter supplies having been stretched thin due to logistical issues, orders were given to wait on the planned spring offensive until troop reployments and their accoming logistical needs were finished and met accordingly. Those Valderans manning the forward trenches and fortified structures along the battleline were given a smife of hope with the spring thaw, the warmer (if muddy) weather being less of a hinderence for the defenders.
With their advance through the countryside ongoing, the Galran occupation of the town of Shaka was soon reported by Valderan patrols, with what armor and gun support the Republic man being sent to meet the foe on the battlefield. Fighter planes would run recon for the force, the pilots tracking what enemy movements they could spot for both defense realignment and fire support from allied artilery. Tratract Carabeeners would make their debut against the Galran armor, with the two-Milnor manned steads being used to flank galran postions and strike at Galran armor with dynamite when a tank become mud-stuck.

With the Mil'Nor railways still intact, the UKUG sent trains loaded with weapons and ammunitions for the Xaspeshi military. Against everything the government wanted to its deepest pit, it had to resolve to asking for support from the United Kingdom, its former occupier and sovereign. President Fransisco was out of options, the Xaspeshi military was in utter tatters and near breaking, the capital was encircled and being slowly strangled of any remaining resistance. The Mil'Nor couldn't help because supply lines were so fractured any more troops brought in would cause logistical nightmare, resorting to taking UKUG support was the only option left other than total surrender.
Model 4 McCarron rifles and Vicker machine guns finally came in supplying thousands of Xaspeshi troops, giving the Federation a fighting chance against the Galrans. With their new supplies the Xaspesh military was able to regroup with their military.
70,000 standard infantry, 10,000 heavy infantry 250 field guns 370 mortars
330,000 drafted men would be in active reserves but for now this was all they could field against Galra to defend the last of their nation. Xaspeshi's final stand rapidly approached and even then if victory was somehow achieved there left a great many questions for the future of the Federation.
