With Marrish battlefield communication infrastructure lagging behind Grinvel on the battlefield still, the Marrish DoD would begin a program to develop radio systems for military use. With very little in the way of electronics production, they would have to make due with their own local production. They reached out for any CoN members with experience in the field to offer assistance if possible. They would begin efforts to make a basic 2 way radio set to start out with.

Although quite occupied with technological improvements on their own end, the Roskanan government sent several military researchers to the Marrish capitol in order to assist with the production of these new radios. While their assistance was relatively unconditional, the researchers would push far more for tank and vehicle based radios than man portable variants.

Further development experiments would continue, most test beds used equipment purchased from Kumosenkan, and not all of the manuals were fully translated. A working prototype for a short distance two way radio was taking form. Downsizing efforts continued so that the sets could fit within vehicles for transport to command posts.

As efforts pushed towards a truck mounted radio, major advancements towards long range, two-way radios fixed into tanks were made. Focusing less on making a separate radio unit and bolting it into the tank and more on building radios into the tank during initial production, these would slightly reduce the amount of space inside of a tank, but reduce the chance of rapid stops or rough terrain knocking wires and electrical equipment loose.

Marrish engineers would attempt to assist where possible with the radio integration project, though they continued developments with their bolt-on stop-gap measure. The command trucks showed initial promise, if a bit strenuous on the frame. Further optimization would be required.

Roskanan engineers and R&D personnel would focus mainly on their own efforts, taking a minimal amount of time to propose affixing the radio inside the bed of a truck before returning to their own efforts. With the issue of mounting the radio resolved, they mainly focused on connecting the radios to the tank's batteries while also minimizing risk to the crew.

Optimization of the truck-based radios would continue, and size reduction remained paramount. The team made some efforts to improve the design and allow for more than 1 channel communication (IE letting it be tuned by operators). The downsizing effort for integration with tanks was given proper orders for size and weight and with the order to make an infantry portable unit should their downsizing succeed. The orders were: Unit is to weigh no more than 60lb. Unit is to fit within a 2 foot-long 6 inch-wide container. Unit is to be capable of linking to 4 channels or more at the same time with frequency presets.
