To say that Nevarra has gotten comfortable fighting in the desert given that most of their country is swirling dunes and rocky mountains would only be partially-correct. Yes, Nevarrans are trained to fight in the simultaneously sweltering and freezing terrain but its come through countless generations of adapting certain equipment and tricks in order for they themselves to avoid the balefulness of the desolate sands of the Granarha. With it being an age of industry and the war knocking up on the doorstep of the desert front, Nevarra has taken a moment to reconsider the equipment of their infantry. Particularly; their heads.
For the most part, Nevarra has stuck to standard metal helmets for better-equipped infantry and circular cloth hats for those that were more lightly-equipped and needed to move around more quickly. This has worked all well and good but the severity of the war has spurred the Kingdom to seek every advantage and improvement they could muster and that came with re-analyzing their infantry's equipment. Sight, of course, played a big part in being a soldier and if not the blinding sun then certain the sand and dust particulates being blown by frequent winds scraping across the eye which has proved invaluable for the Nevarran home front. To mitigate this problem, Nevarran soldiers often had access to a set of goggles that were admittedly bulky and cumbersome on the face and neck and when it came to post-battle logistics the goggles tend to be up there in equipment that was reported missing.
Because of this, efforts have been made to look into streamlining Nevarran equipment both for bulk production and also to further modernize their equipment. Drafts for a new type of helmet were made and Marrish R&D officials were invited to provide consultation and amendments to the design. The intention was to create two models; Model-A and Model-B with the former being designed to fit 'hominid'/flatter facial structures while Model-B was designed for longer/pronounced facial structures using a Shazzak model. A variant of the helm was also being produced for instances of gas attack with a modular respirator featuring straps that could secure the mask to the head without the helm.
