Roskanan research and development firms, associated with the civilian and military sector, often receive contracts to pursue fields of study and design for the benefit of the nation and its people, and as well the pockets of investors and researchers alike. Corporations, groups and organizations, as well as military development and design teams in this field have their operations recorded in a central database for ease of filing and data-sorting within the halls of government.
This is where all research is recorded.

OOC: As stated in the Objective, the aim is to create an anti-vehicle launcher to equip Roskanan infantry with to allow for them to engage Grinvelian armor, while fully fledged tanks are still a ways off.
The Contractor whom had taken this task up, was the B&A Armories Research and Development Division, or just "Bard" as most people called it in short-hand. It'd start development on the launcher by first laying out a simple plan. They knew how to create the ammunition already, with it having existed for a time and some tentative prototypes for similar weapons having been previously offered to the army and marines, but not adopted due to a perceived lack of need. A particular few designers would have probably been heard to say "I told you so" were it not so dire a situation, and dour an atmosphere.
The blueprints were drawn up relatively quickly, a launcher for a 90mm caseless projectile with a shaped explosive charge to penetrate the armor of a tank or armored vehicle. The shell was easy enough to manufacture, what they needed now was to get the launcher going. They'd need to source materials, then to manufacture it, one easy to do and the other a matter of machining. Given it would not need to withstand the tolerances of a artillery gun of similar size they did not need to make the walls of the gun as thick, though everything else would be up in the air as they set about the work. OOC: The objective is to create an early and mechanically simplified semi-auto rifle for mass-distribution to all line infantry. This contract, released and awarded around the same time as the contract for the Man-Portable Recoilless Anti-Armor Weapon, would be awarded to the company Tanus Armaments. They were put into contact with an Army team of firearms experts with some captured weapons to dissect and take apart, as well as a couple old designs from before the on-going war that would be purchased by the corporation for study, and design. They had a basic idea of what to aim for, and with conventional gun design practices in mind they began to source parts, material, and assembled a basic plan for how the weapon should be put together. OOC: Creation and enabled production of light-medium tank destroyers. The Roskanan military found that, among the worst of their issues with holding Grinvel back, it was the supremacy of the Grinvelian armor on the field of battle that proved to be just as often more deadly than even enemy aircraft. While the Roskanan army had the means to stop the tanks now, they did not have the means to stop them reliably. Projects were in development already with the purpose of augmenting the firepower and fighting power of infantry to stop tanks, as well as to create more hazards against them, but they needed a more mobile and effective solution to the problem alongside that until they had a proper fleet of real tanks.
The proposition, brought forth by the Maksin Motors Company based in Thermala, would be the Tank Destroyer. In concept it was simple - a vehcle with a fixed firing arc and no turret that would have to rely on its gun depression and turning in a narrow field in order to be able to engage an enemy vehicle, but with a gun strong enough to punch through the frontal armor of anything up to a medium tank. Such guns existed, even anti-aircraft flak guns could do that given they had the characteristics of a AT gun themselves to be able to fire flak shells to extreme heights, though Roskana had only a handful and they were still in production for deployment to the frontlines.
This as well opened up the potential for this, if it was successful, to allow the army to mount larger weaponry on the vehicles and perhaps, retool them for other works, the mention of flak brought a discussion about such a platforms potential use as mobile anti-aircraft artillery that could move with troops and not require extensive set-up, in comparison to contemporary flak and autocannon AA.
With army engineers and the Army Combat-Capabilities Development Command working together with Maksin motors, the project was given the go-ahead.
The vehicle itself just needed a hull to mount it on, which a light or medium tank hull could suffice. OOC: The development of Mechanized vehicles for mechanized infantry. Infantry are relatively squishy and frail in comparison to what they encounter on the battlefield. While motorized forces had speed and response abilities outpacing that of regular infantry units, they rarely had protection on the move against air strikes, artillery, or small arms fire, which had led to the deaths of many troops on march from enemy harassment and bombardment, especially due to a lack of mobility. Knowing they'd eventually have to go on the offensive in order to retake their nation from Grinvel in the future, the Roskanans would need a way to transport troops that wouldn't see them under the mercy of artillery and machine guns as they reached the field, and perhaps would even allow them to leverage greater firepower against their enemies at the squad scale.
The proposition to develop a tracked and armored vehicle to resist small arms and shrapnel was made by the Maksin Motor Company and Industrial Solutions Incorporated. Armored Personnel Carriers, as they called them. While none yet existed, the line of thought went that a tank chasis could perhaps be repurposed to carry infantry into battle under its armor protection. Though, the army wanted a more purpose built one that could, if possible, retain as much standardized parts as possible to simplify construction and logistics for the vehicles.

OOC: Overall aim here is to create a light machine gun with a high rate of fire to equip infantry forces.
Seeing a number of shortfalls that had befallen the armed forces during the war with Grinvel, the armed forces had begun working to quickly replicate many of the successes of Grinvel's armed forces, whilst quickly trying to close the gaps between both forces. A more reliable, higher rate of fire anti-personnel machine gun was sought to replace the older LMG produced over a decade ago. Tanus Arms would take the contract and begin development with the assistance of B&A Armories who produced the first LMG in Roskanan service. OOC: As above, to create a simple form of infantry body-armor to defend against typical rifle and pistol caliber rounds, with the aim of protecting the vitals - ala, chest, stomach, heart, lungs, intestines, etc.
Body armor had a long history, but rarely was it ever officially adopted. With the adoption of body armor in other nations for their specialist formations, the Roskanan military had begun to look into the procurement of body-armor for its own troops, even if it would just be a simple form of armor to protect the vitals of a user and minimize the risk of them absorbing life-threatening injuries in combat. Most soldiers being trained to aim for the center mass, would direct their fire there to begin with, and this was considered to be an adequate way to both minimize cost, not overburden the soldier, and to protect their vital organs from direct fire or shrapnel. This contract would be given to Arco steel-works to forge the plates, while MensWearInternational. headquartered in Thermala, would be contracted to create the vest itself, both companies working together under the supervision of the armed forces. OOC: The development of incendiary rounds to augment the means available to troops to clear structures, destroy large patches of forest or greenery that combatants are hidden in, and to be used in aerial bombing campaigns to conduct incendiary attacks. While flamethrowers had been an effective means of setting large areas on fire and clearing fortifications, they were an incredibly dangerous application within the armed forces, and few used them regularly. Engineering units were highly trained and valuable, and so they were not considered expendable - flamethrowers became more relegated to tools of shaping the field or starting fires, or in combat, clearing fortifications at extreme risk. White Phosphorous was known to the government and agencies as being a potential incendiary, and had even seen limited application as such before in commercial and civilian fields. But its military applications were simply theory until recently. B&A Armories, Bow Chemical, and the Army Office of Ordinance would be tasked with working together to create shells and bombs with an incendiary payload, viable for battlefield use, and for air attacks - particularly targeted attacks against civilian infrastructure and manufacturing centers. OOC: The development of Rocket motors for artillery use, aircraft, and propulsion.
Rocketry had existed for a long time in various forms, but rockets themselves had rarely seen much use in warfare. Fireworks were a rare example of something potentially dangerous, but those motors rarely lasted long, and were only enough to clear a piece of fireworks from an area of danger above homes that, at the time of their invention, used mostly wooden roofs. The Roskanan army artillery corps had found limited use of fireworks for signaling purposes in a pinch, but ideas were sprouted from old stories and myths about the use of rockets in ancient times, and ultimately it was decided that perhaps there was potential for military applications with rocketry.
This however would be more intensive. Rocketry was an art that'd been neglected in Roskana for a long time, and perhaps elsewhere in the world as well. With Bow Chemical and B&A Armories working together under contract with the Roskanan military, this endeavor would require that they begin to expand upon the old art. As well, a fireworks company, the largest in Roskana, SkyDance, would be brought aboard to assist with the creation of a rocket motor with military funding to back it. They'd have to find a suitable mixture to act as the propellant, as what was used in modern fireworks would not be suitable for artillery applications, simply because of an issue with weight, though they would need as well to design a nozzle and casing too. They were effectively starting from scratch all the same. OOC: Researching the creation of synthetic rubber. The need for synthetic elastomers had become more and more pressing as time passed, with sources of rubber being disrupted by the ongoing war with the sovereign union. Because of this, the government's authorized a large amount of funding for a pair of research firms to begin searching for a potential source of synthetic rubber, so that the manufacture of necessary war materials and civilian products at home can continue. Bow Chemical and Eridutopia have been tasked with the work, as both firms specialize in material sciences and chemical works. The government has allocated them funding, and assigned a civilian agency, the Roskanan Thermala National Laboratory, to assist them.
