Using the instances of captured/destroyed Galran Lancer fighters, as well as the aid of the Koian engineers that had been sent to lend aid, Eleria would begin working on reverse-engineering monoplane technology as well as the engine used to power it, fully intent on making their own domestic fighter as an improvement upon the Lancer. The goal of the Elerian project was to create a counter that would fit solidly within their own doctrine for air combat. The criteria provided were that the aircraft have a service ceiling of 30,000 feet, reach a top speed of at least 250 knots at 25,000 feet, have a combat range of no less than 450 miles, and carry an armament of no fewer than 6 .50 caliber machine guns with 500 rounds per gun, and 200lbs of bombs carried either under the wings or the fuselage. The state would sponsor the reverse-engineering of the components of the lancer, then provide knowledge of the production to private manufacturers so they could produce prototypes in a bid to secure a contract with the air force.
