Unlike the recent success in the Western Theater of the Dirian Front, especially against Shaum Shella and Abbadon, the Eastern Theater of the Dirian Front was pure chaos. Frontlines changed daily, and numerous cities were surrounded, especially on the coast. The situation was chaotic for the boots on the ground, but one could always trust a bunker or a building to take shelter in when a bomb dropped; however, for the Navy, it was different. The vast sea and prominent ports gave no spots to hide. Since the start of the conflict, the Eastern Dirian Navy remained in a constant struggle, outmatched, outdated compared to its foe Verak, and barely guarded against the bombers above. Despite the odds, the Eastern Fleet of Diria had fought, with the hulls of sunk, scuttled, or embattled ships taking up precious space in the ports, resting on the sea floor, or daring to fight the enemies of Diria. Yet, with the turn of the year and new developments in the Silk Sea and Shawbalt Ocean, the Dirian Ministry of Defense has conceded the Eastern Navy is at its breaking point, and semi-safe ports are few and far between, with Verak closing in.
Thus, a partial evacuation was initiated by the Ministry of Defense. Over weeks and in piecemeal, sailors and officers were briefed, fuel was saddled in their tanks, and their coffers supplied with whatever could be spared. The scheme was bathed in silence, but from a bird's eye view, Verak, in reality, would have a decent idea of the gamble Diria was soon to play. Nevertheless, on the same day the Ministry of Defense gave the green light to go, the governments of Orthoria, Kumosenkan, and even Pomanzanniki received a message, usually a matter of request beforehand, but in this case, it was a plea. In apparent desperation, to avoid a blunt refusal by the nations or tipping the SU off, a large contingent of the Eastern Dirian Blue-Water Navy would attempt to leave occupied or overfilled harbors in Fasai under cover of the night shortly after the message had arrived.
However, the plan proved chaotic, unlike in the West, where the Ministry of Defense could keep order. The air raids, shelling, and desperation in the Eastern Navy's ranks made the situation increasingly disorganized. Numerous ships either left prematurely, others left too late, and many didn't leave at all, with their boats unable to make the journey due to fuel shortages or being too heavily damaged to leave port. Nonetheless, the governments of Orthoria, Kumosenkan, and even Pomanzanniki now had their warnings, and appreciative of the burden or not, they had a window to prepare. The Dirians would need to race south through the Baia Del Suo Eterno Regola and Trident Strait to arrive at the safe harbor. That, and the eventual end goal, was to reconnect with the Western Dirian Blue-Water Navy. However, with the message came a pledge that whatever the Dirian Navy could provide to the nations harboring them in their time of need or allies needing aid, they would receive, even if it meant their lives.
