The Elenrian military, formally known as the Territorial Army of TAKPOE, serves as the official armed forces of the Takpoe administration. A small, largely antiquated force that relies on even more antiquated ideas, it was beset even before its formation with corruption, infighting, and incompetence as much of its experienced officer corps defected to various rebel groups or altogether resigned from military service. Combined with the distrust of Elenrian troops by the Kumosenkan military and generally poor performance throughout its history, the Territorial Army is a shadow of predecessor militaries of Elenria: a small force of poorly-equipped volunteers mostly motivated by the promise of guaranteed pay. The Territorial Army is organized into three main organizations with multiple military education institutions that affect thinking process and military schools of thought: The Army of the Feina, The Army of the Yasuhiro, and the Army of the Bromsoll.
Corps Army of the Feina - Led by Lt. General Seria BenikaFormed in 1862, the Army of the Feina was formed by Royal Army remnants to suppress the growing anti-Takpoe movement in the Mogahol Badlands. Comprised mostly of light infantry and mobile mounted soldiers, these troops are responsible for the containment and subjugation of rebel-controlled areas. Considered a backwater stationing for officers, the situation tends to be quiet for both combatant and commander, non-intense skirmishes to contain the rebel threat. However, a growing concern within higher commands have proven that the largely autonomous units there have been complicit in smuggling and other illicit activities besides "fighting" rebel elements. Corps Army of the Yasuhiro - Led by Lt. General Fon Meis Zeng
Formed in 1882 in the aftermath of the 1879 Famine Revolt, the Army of the Yasuhiro is best described as an army of die-hard Martials, former Jade Guard (former members of the disbanded personal guard of Queen Akel I) and personnel best described as fanatics, warmongers, and disgraced officers trying to claw their way back through political favor. Also known as the Interior Army, the Yasuhiro Army is infamous for their reputation as defender of the government from angry protesters, opening fire on crowds with the only goal being the dispersion of demonstrations. Given the divided nature of the Takpoe government itself though, it is only to be expected that the following issues of political loyalty take precedence over more immediate issues of public unrest, weakening what would otherwise be a rather simple garrison duty within the luxury of Elenria's heartlands. Army of the Bromsoll - Led by Col. General Vaiseln ApiFormed in 1860 as the first official and coherent armed force of the newly founded Takpoe administration, the Army of the Bromsoll are considered the best of the Territorial Army, serving as the peacetime border guard against Franerre and Eleria. Containing the vast bulk of the Territorial Army's professional troops, these troops are given the most extensive funding of any of the three armies. Nevertheless, despite their reputation as the elite of Elenria's domestic army, they struggle with issues of morale, equipment shortages, and corruption within the ranks potentially leading to conspiracy and treason with foreign powers. The Type 11 bayonet is issued to all forces as both a combat knife and bayonet. Despite this, traditional Elenrian spears, swords, and entrenching shovels are also carried as supplemental melee weapons due to supply issues. Other equipment includes simple a beige or tan uniform over a basic fatigue dress, bandolier, entrenching shovel, army canteen, personal effects rear belt bag, and harness. Multiple pouches holding additional ammunition and rations to maintenance equipment and navigational essentials are attached to the harness. A blanket roll, often rolled over a backpack or tied over the shoulder is often included, as well as a forage or field cap with cloth jungle netting to block the sun on the back of the neck. Changes may be made to the uniform depending on the climate. ENLISTED RANKSInfantry | Combat Support | Rear Support | Logistics | Signals | Engineers |

Supply
With the great diversity in equipment, logistical issues are only expected. As a result, ammunition, munitions, and other resources must be carefully conserved among the forces. Additionally, certain forces take resupply priority over other formations, further restricting what can be provided to the troops. Reuse of equipment and salvage operations are incredibly common during, between, and after battles. Medical equipment often consists of bandages and what can be ground up into a balm from the local fauna. Lack of motorization across the countryside means that troops must physically make trips by foot, while resupply by rail can be delayed for weeks on end and loner after being later transported by foot. What most militaries would consider basic and essential for a war of the twentieth century, the politically-minded and often old-minded high-ranking officers have been long distrustful of adopting new equipment and ideas that they may see as wasteful and needlessly expensive.
The Type 11 bayonet is issued to all forces as both a combat knife and bayonet. Despite this, traditional Elenrian spears, swords, and entrenching shovels have been known to be carried as supplemental melee weapons due to supply shortages.
Other standard equipment includes simple a beige or tan uniform over a basic fatigue dress, bandolier, entrenching shovel, army canteen, personal effects rear belt bag, and harness. Changes may be made to the uniform depending on the climate
Standard Infantry
The common Territorial Standard carries around 50-60 rounds of ammunition for their rifle alone during a routine mission, despite having enough for 100 on a single bandolier. Helmets are usually issued to NCOs and assault troops, while lower-ranking enlisted more often find themselves given a forage cap or field cap. The Takpoe plum blossom is often painted or sprayed on with dark paint rather than engraved or a pin. Due to the lack of rifles, officers only carry a sword and revolver, while penal battalions are given exclusively swords to fight with. An extra pouch is sometimes carried by lower enlisted to supply additional ammunition for the platoon machine gun, totaling around 40 rounds, or two ammo strips. Grenades are usually newspaper-packed gunpowder packets packed with glass or mining explosives appropriated where possible into demolition charges. Nevertheless, these soldiers have around two days of field rations. Since the "Notch War," Elenrian Standard Infantry of the Border Army have been supplemented with much more
Light Infantry
Light Infantry meanwhile carry around 20-30 rounds total, relying on traps, hit-and-run ambush tactics, and marksmanship in place of automatic weapons to engage forces. As scouts and skirmishers, they are considered more more mobile and low maintenance and are treated as such, almost exclusively lacking helmets in favor of forage caps with their Takpoe plum blossoms being cloth patches woven on. Firearms are much lower in modernity, some troops even using black powder muzzle-loaded shotguns as close-quarters weapons. Officers and platoon commanders carry a flare gun to raise an alarm, though with the paranoid centralization of the military being what it is, their orders are written, and the orders they issue themselves must also be written. Explosives are entirely absent, save thrown flares and fireworks. Due to their role as being mobile skirmishers, they may forgo much of their heavier equipment such as sleeping roll and rucksack to save on weight. Three days worth of dried rations are supplied in their rucksacks, but it is not uncommon for soldiers to fashion simple bows and arrows and hunt for game instead in order to feed themselves for longer periods, conserving their precious few bullets. If supplied, they have around four days of food, but in peacetime, that all too often is not the case, and most will turn to other forms of sustenance.

OrganizationTen Territorials make up a squad, headed by a sergeant. - 10 Personnel in a squad.
Five squads make up a platoon, headed by a staff sergeant. - 50 Personnel in a platoon.Three platoons make up a single company, headed by a 2nd lieutenant, captain, or commandant. A command platoon of 50 people, including administration, makes up the HQ. - 200 Personnel in a company.

A captain general commands a field army, which on paper is any force over 75,000 personnel, but in practice exists entirely as an administrative role. The Chief of Staff for the Territorial Army takes this rank, but due to the internal chaos of the military, this formation is essentially divided into three completely separate formations across the country.
