First up is the Internationale. Foreign guests from around the globe have come to Librevelt to work together and help forward the cause of the Revolution both here and abroad. Topics to be discussed include support for left leaning groups internationally as well as a general condemnation of state sponsored violence. It was impressive how many people have shown up considering the hostility many nations throughout the world have shown to the Union. It seems as though many fear the idea of a successful worker's state. Locally we have confirmed the passage of the Cub Law. This law gives anyone under the age of majority opportunities in case of a bad home life. It allows for them to petition the government for relocation. The Law is intended to help those weakest among us. Additionally the official rate of Luxury Allowances has been set. Anyone curious as to the rates can check your local government office which shall have signs posted, or stay tuned as we will cover it later. In other news Commissaire Khrush has declared a success of the Agricultural Plan. Set in motion during the Interim Government the plan has successfully mechanized the agriculture of the Union. With this more people can get work in factories or other professions and still provide food for everyone within the Union. The CPC has also announced that they will be setting in motion a new Industrial Plan in order to modernize the Industry in the Union. Consul Bonaparte addressed the public in a speech earlier saying: "We shall create a state in which no one will want for anything." This has been your evening news overview with Vérité News. Welcome to the Evening News. I am your host Marius, and today we will be discussing the major bills that have been put into effect by the Supreme Congress of the Velts. The first and most important bill that was passed was the Abolition of Capital Punishment. This bill forbids the use of Capital Punishment except for Crimes Against Sapients. In a statement before the Supreme Congress, Commissar Poklona spoke in support of the bill stating: "There is no situation in which the State has a right to decide who lives and who dies. We agreed to become citizens of this Union because of our belief in the sanctity of life, and thus it should not be up to the State to take such sanctity away." The Bill was also met with almost universal support from academia, stating that the ability of a state to legally kill someone was fundamentally opposed to the very values that this Union was founded on. Republican Groups had been advocating for such a bill, even under the Shah, saying that it is never possible to be one hundred percent certain that you are not executing an innocent person. Of course the Shah always rejected these calls for justice, but now under the Union we have codified into law the right to life.

In other law news the Supreme Congress passed two bills championed by Commissar Angel. Known as the "Right to Try" and the "Right to Die" bills, the bills allow for medical patients to apply to experimental treatments and as well apply for medically assisted suicide. Both of these bills state that the patient must either be in their right mind, or have appointed a legal medical representative for either to take place. This will hopefully give people more control over their health and ensure that those who would want to take such options have a safe way in which to do it.

This is Rachelle in with a special report. Consul Gauthier Acier of Nesivelt has declared a State of Emergency in Nesivelt. The Red Army forces in the area are to enforce a curfew and citizens are to avoid leaving home as much as possible. The public transit system has been revamped, with each workplace having their own assigned transports to prevent cross contamination. If you are feeling sick you are to report to a hospital or clinic immediately. The infection seems to have affected those involved in the transportation industry as well as locations close to train stations. As such the Red Army has announced that their Biological Units will be taking over such jobs until further notice. When asked if this might be an attack on the Union the Red Army said that such rumors are likely unfounded. As it stands so long as everyone follows the directions of the Red Army soldiers and the government we should be fine. This has been Rachelle with Vérité News, stay safe everyone.

My fellow citizens, I bring you grave news. The government has now confirmed that there is an imminent threat to the Union. Several weeks ago the Rombardan military began posturing on our border. Intelligence showed them as over one million strong. This was a clear threat to our security, though we could not prove that there was imminent danger. So in reaction we strengthened the border guard and set the DÉCARTE Level at Amber. However new intelligence suggests that war is imminent. In a diplomatic meeting it was let slip that the issue on the border was more severe than it first seemed. As such the Council has decided to take this threat extremely seriously. We expect Rombarda to launch an invasion relatively soon, even as they try and lull us into a false sense of security. I however would like to assure you that everything will be alright. The Red Army is ready to defend the Union from any threats to our well being. I wish all of you well and that you remain strong. Know that no matter what you will not be abandoned. We will not let the Imperialists win.
