As part of the Lusatian government's foreign policy initiative, attempts at diplomacy were sent to nations on the eastern shores of Granuras. This included Amali, which Lusatia viewed as a natural partner in world affairs, both nations having strong democratic governments, as well as Amali's general lack of overseas possessions, making it an unlikely rival in the future.
As such, Lusatia sent a telegram inquiring as to whether a permanent diplomatic presence could be established in the near future, offering to reciprocate with an embassy in Lusatia, as well. Implied within the message was a general desire to further relations in general through further diplomatic talks, following the establishment of an embassy.

The Department of State would respond in kind, extending the olive branch and accepting the opening of a new embassy as well as allowing for consulates to be set up in the nation's port cities before the end of the decade.
The man sent to the Lusatian capital, Arduino Beneventi, was a Gentediavalo male aged roughly 87. He'd arrive with a diplomatic team in the capital to set up shop and open immediate relations.

A small team of functionaries was sent to help set up the Lusatian embassy, with the Lusatian Ambassador, Sviatoslav Ekiert, set to arrive shortly after. They would settle in and begin their work.
Meanwhile, the Lusatians welcomed the Amalian ambassador, and he was invited to a meeting with the Lusatian Foreign Minister as soon as his team had settled into their embassy.

The Ambassador would arrive to the meeting precisely ten minutes before it would begin. Accompanied by two other diplomats, one carrying a larger-than-average messenger bag. Dressed to the nines in a well put together off-black suit and hair cut short, Beneventi and his entourage would enter the building and ask for the Foreign Minister's office or the meeting room, whichever the Minister would have left for the secretaries.

The Foreign Minister would invite the Amalians into his office, which, though architecturally impressive (the exquisite wooden flooring and big windows within the height of architectural sense in Lusatia), nonetheless, the furnishings did little to advance the room's appearance, and it seemed that the Foreign Minister preferred simpler interiors as opposed to the flaunting of wealth elsewhere in the building.
Welcoming the Amalians, the Foreign Minister invited them to sit down while an assistant offered them something to drink. Once they got whatever they wanted, the Foreign Minister greeted them, "Welcome, Mr. Beneventi, I trust your journey went well, and the embassy building, though perhaps underfurnished, to be to your liking?"

"The building serves its purpose, no?" Beneveti says. "Whether ornate or simple, so long as we can talk and conduct diplomacy, the building doesn't matter. But thank you, Mr. Ekiert, for the hospitality and kindness. The journey, on the other hand, was fine. Not much to complain about, the seas are getting a bit choppy up here as the cold settles in but that's nothing the modern ships can't take."
One of the two assistants politely declined, but Beneveti and the other assistant kindly accepted the offer.

Sipping his drink, the Minister nodded and soon after began with what he had to say,
"So, let us get to business, then, shall we? Lusatia has long, well, if not ignored, then certainly not pursued, relations with nations along the southern bounds of Granuras, simply due to the distance between our nations. Beginning real relations with Amali is the first part of this, as one of the largest states in the region, as well as a fellow democracy, it seems natural that Amali would be a strong business partner and potential friend in the region, and my government would like to inquire as to what actions we can take to begin such processes."
