"Food can come in time. We already produce quite enough, we can deal with that later. Did you have specific locations already planned for your bases?" He'd flip through some papers, looking for specifics on what he's allowed to agree to and so on.

"We'll establish a military base south of Zanesville, of which that'll be one of the major bases. There would be another two major military bases, then a network of firebases and supply depos from the Fecrein border to the Nevarran one, mostly focused along the way to Zanesville and along the border with the URRV, a total of maybe about ten or so firebases, six supply depos, and then three major military bases to provide air cover and to support substantial garrisons. They'll as well establish their own infrastructure." He'd tell them. "Radio towers, radar, so on. These firebases will be one of the first lines of defense, but we don't expect them to hold if you get attacked. They're a stop-gap, and intended largely to slow an attack so your military and ours can mobilize to meet the threat."
He'd say, before he would lightly shrug. "That's what i was told of the plan anyway. Military minds discussing this issue would better serve I believe, as general Cassius did say that we would have to do a assessment of what areas area particularly vulnerable or not and how we would have to play the Great Game if the time came, so to speak."

Ed would motion to Greg, who would pull out a rolled up paper from their case. Ed would take it before pushing it forward to Jacus. " This map should help your Generals to decide what and where to place things." He'd lean back in his chair. "Anything else you may need for the decision?"

He'd look at the map, his expression seeming to change briefly before it returns to what it had been prior. "I'll be showing it to Cassius himself, since he's been stuck at CentCom and he'll want all the information he can to take his mind off of everything else going on." He'd say as he would examine the map once again. "I know Zanesville will be well protected at least." He'd then roll it up and set it to the side.
"Aside from that, I know they planned on putting two major bases up towards the north, and then building firebases along the border though further back. Then I think they had planned for fewer firebases and outposts along the highways and rail ways, but they may change it. If they do I will let you know." He tells them. "They may decide to set up a second line starting at Fecrein and coming down to the border at Crenta or Coshocton.. beyond that I think that's really it."

The two would nod, listening to the diplomat's statement. "Feel free, we're fine to wait for their opinion."
Greg would speak up, thinking harder about the location of the bases. "While the bases to the North are what we were expecting, is the second line really necessary? Are you asking for us to abandon most of our farmland in the event of a war?"
Ed would nod, agreeing with the points despite not having been the one to bring them up.

"We're not asking you to abandon the farmland in the event of a war. We're asking you to be ready to run and hold up somewhere else if we lose that first line basically. We're not sure we would ever have to drop that line entirely but we as well are somewhat more wary of the URRV's manpower advantage over us, especially in active military units. The second line is to protect Maiz infrastructure south since we need that to move soldiers and equipment, and if we do have to retake all that land it'll be critical to the action. It'll also serve as a major logistics hub in conflict as it is. We understand if this does make you uncomfortable and I can see about having them move that second line further up to try and secure more of the farmland and potentially have them bolster the first line if need be."
