"Bonne après-midi, to everyone listening from Setange, Bordemer, and all across Franerre, and welcome to the premier broadcast of the Setange Broadcasting Corporation. I'm your voice of the SBC, Xavier Présen," Xavier read from his script.
A piercing while filled the airwaves, before quickly being turned off. "Ahem," a second voice said, "That's better. I'm your other voice of the SBC, Liam Présen. Sorry about the microphone, it doesn't quite look like all of the kinks have been worked out yet."
"Well, it's working now. But back to the show. As this is our premier show, I'll take the liberty of explaining what it is we do here to our audience. Our goal here at the SBC is to give you news from everywhere in Franerre, from the Bays to Bordemer."
"We've only got an hour for our show, Xavier, so let's make it count. Let's start off with the most important news in Franerre, the border. Three weeks ago, Kumosenkan saw fit to close the border between Franerre and Elenria, due to supposed Greatfern activity. For those at home who don't know, the Greatferns are the human freedom fighters in Elenria. Not only did Kumo see fit to close down the border, they saw fit to send 50,000 soldiers to secure it, as well as a fleet from the Kumosenkan home isles."
"Fifty-thousand?! You sure you've got that number right?"
"That's what the army says."
"I did a little stint here in the army at Fort Mercius, and let me tell you, 50,000 soldiers is a lot. It sounds to me that either Kumosenkan's got a real problem on their hands, or there's something we aren't seeing here, Liam."
"Let's save the speculation for later, Xavier. Now, the border closing hasn't been good for us Franchmen. You've got those unemployment stats for me, Xavier?"
"Right here. The MLF says that we've got 15% unemployment, with some places going as high as 18%. Well, it's really 14.8%, but I don't like decimals."
"Hold on, Xavier, I've got to but in here, cause this makes my blood boil. So we've got 15% of our Franch countrymen out of a job, what does the PPL do? Nothing! If it weren't for the good men in the PSF reaching across the isle with the SNF, think of how hard it would be for everyone. That seventy-five Lira for everyone unemployed isn't from the PPL, people."
"I understand you're pretty passionate about this, Liam, I am too, but let's stick to the news, first. Besides the border..."
