... Mayor Sobieski confirmed the administration was looking into means of handling the excess caseload in local hospitals, though he noted that such plans would have to be approved by other nearby cities and their hospitals. He also confirmed that he had sent a request to the national government for additional funding to pay for additional wards in the city's hospitals, as part of a long-term investment in ensuring such an overload does not happen again.
The mayor has also confirmed that these concerns will not interfere with the city's liberation day parade celebrating the city's liberation from Galran forces, and indeed, the parade is looking to have potentially record turnout. The celebration's planning committee has confirmed that several major bands, including...

The Kazimierzgrad Post National Health Emergency Declared Story Written by Jan Popovic
Kazimierzgrad - Following a wave of news regarding large amounts of infections yielding similar symptoms across the southern part of Lusatia, the newly formed Disease Control Agency has declared a national health emergency, instating many measures intended to heavily restrict the spread of the disease before it can spread outside of the southern voivodeships.
Already, criticism has flowed in from both local authorities and opposition leaders, accusing the DCA of overreacting and ruinously destroying the economy of the afflicted regions. However, the Director of the Agency, Dr. Joachim Smyczek, has rejected such claims. In a press conference shortly after the declaration, he said, "There is every reason to believe that the cases we're seeing in southern Lusatia are identical to those reported in Ulster-Gaelia, and, as a result, we ought to mitigate the spread in our nation early to prevent as bad an outbreak as our friends across the pond seem to be having."
Other concerns have been voiced by those at the Kazimierzgrad Stock Exchange, warning that severe disruptions to the economy might trigger instability in the coming months, and urging restraint in how far the government is willing to go to contain a regional disease.

The Kazimierzgrad Post Mystery Bacteria Confirmed to be the Plague Story Written by Chief Reporter Jan Popovic
Kazimierzgrad - Research teams sent to Trzebina Hospital last month have issued a report confirming that the disease striking the city and large portions of southern Lusatia matches old documents describing the Plague.
Digging up old manuscripts from Kazimierzgrad University, and comparing it to known characteristics of the disease have confirmed to researchers that the current epidemic striking the south is indeed a resurgence of the 14th century plague which killed roughly one-third of all Lusatians. In particular, several cases match descriptions of the bubonic and septicemic varieties which were responsible for the most deaths during the historical outbreak.
Already, research is under way to cure Yersinia pestis, the bacteria behind the plague, though it is unclear whether current penicillin antibacterials will be sufficient to cure infected. Attempts to use more experimental antibacterials, such as Streptomycin, are also planned, but regardless of solution, efforts to distribute the cure will be severely hampered by inadequate production of all types of antibacterials, an issue the government is reportedly planning to resolve.
In a press conference held by the Prime Minister, he elaborated on government plans, saying...
