With growing concerns of a disease in the city, the Federal Center for Disease Control's (FCDC) director, Fiorella Cocci, has issued a warning to all inhabitants in the cities about the new plague infection. The FCDC deployed doctors from around the nation to the cities and began constructing additional hospital resources for the cities, and other major ports and coastal cities along Amali's borders. The FCDC would begin looking into the origins of the virus and attempt to isolate the reasons as to why this was happening. Samples would be collected at hospitals from patients in order to figure out what was happening. FCDC would be working with medical universities to establish a testing checklist to determine symptoms of the disease.
The FCDC issued a statement, both on the radio and on the TV, for the following areas:
- Orange for North Aretria, Florencia, and Capital State
- Yellow for Amali, South Aretria, Thessaside, and Briscoln - Tentative Green for all other states
For the following states listed with an advisory warning that is not Green: - Maintain hygiene practices and wash your hands when in public frequently,
- Wear mask coverings while in public,
- [Orange] Maintain distances from non-family members,
- [Orange] Minimize outings as much as possible.
For port cities, a special new advisory for port cities should be exercised: - Limiting of de-boarding of foreigners and ship leave to immediate areas around the port,
- Dockworkers are to receive weekly checkups.
The FCDC office in Aken in North Aretria was abuzz with this new information, phone calls to each city informing other branches what was happening in their areas. Local universities were called up to help take and examine the samples of patients to identify what was causing the infections at both cities. The organization was a bit concerned with the idea of two potential epidemics in the nation; especially if it meant there could be a need for two vaccinations and medications.

The incoming notice from the Koian government gave the FCDC all it needed to be able to respond to the threats and provide proper care. With the increasing report that more cities are reporting the cases, the FCDC has been given funding by the federal government to set up makeshift hospitals and work alongside existing hospital infrastructure. The FCDC prepared large areas for providing care for the infected, and using the information provided, sought to stop the disease at the head. They took over large covered stadiums at first. The earlier the care, the better chances of survival.
With the incoming report, the entire nation was moved to Red. The ports were locked down with foreign vessels being forced to quarantine and not given sick leave. The FCDC issued that should any of the symptoms following be experienced, head to the nearest hospital and care centers for immediate treatment. If at the least, they can provide proper meals, warmth, and rest for
Doctors were given masks and anti-bacterial soaps, and given instructions on how to care for the patients. Given that this was potentially a bacterial infection, and in academia penicillin is a proven agent against bacterial infections, but how do you produce it on a mass scale? The call rang out to the nation's largest pharmaceutical companies - Eptia, Cronoxo, and Phasian being some of the larger ones - to figure a way out to mass produce the drug and only time will tell if they are effective. They would be receiving guidance and help from both the academic world and what on-the-ground doctors of the FCDC would experience. The current methods would only be able to help about a dozen or less people a day, depending on the quality of the yield. Of a second concern was how to transport such large quantities of the drug without it potentially expiring, which Cronoxo and Phasian were looking into at the same time.
At the same time upon hearing the news from Koi, the President and Congress sought to prevent any form of economic downturn that could come from this. A special Congressional session was called, a third of the whole of Congress appearing due to the immediate demands of the nation. As people were beginning to get sick in larger droves, Congress passed the "Housing, Income, and Business Alleviation Act" (HIBAA) which was aimed at keeping people housed and off the streets. While there was noticeable push-back by some parties, the overwhelming voice of the Amalian people who were terrified of what the future held. The stock market was forced into manual trading overnight. More resources were freed to help the FCDC combat and stabilize the areas under attack by the invisible foe.
