The Kithium League.
Operation: Weed Trimmer
Several regiments of light infantry had been mobilized over the weeks and given their tasking and a fair bit of time to set up their jumping off points.
The last areas of significant hostile resistance were located to the North East and South East, these areas being where the remainder of the opposing forces were concentrated after being slowly pushed out.
Anarchist Factions like the Kithium Free Territories were to the south, as well as the more fascistic Kitiri Corps, with most of the experienced forces. The remnant forces of the old government were the Republican Guard, and then after them a general conglomeration of many smaller cells simply called the 'United Rebel Front', which was more dominant in the south east and north east than the other forces now. All of them were fighting each other at this point, but they were fighting the federal government as well, which meant they still had to be removed from the equation.
The Kithium Federal Army had dispatched the 33rd Cavalry Division, and then the 44th Light Motorized to support the 12th, 20th and 35th Light Infantry forces, heading to the North East with support from an artillery division and as well the air force. The south, the 14th Cavalry would be moving with the 47th Light Motorized, 12th Standard motorized, and 21st, 23rd, and 56th Light Infantry, with two artillery units and further air power to support them. Forces from various government agencies as well had accompanied them.
This had come at a time when the government had initiated a lockdown of the border and as well, began to move more troops to the border to close off probably exits. Before long, the Federal Army was moving into these regions in force, and while resistance would be light at first, the real fighting would come when Nightfall struck during the middle of Foa, 1945, on the 15th day. The assault pushed forwards until it began to get nearer to the borders in various areas, when it began to grow steadily more difficult to move without encountering resistance from pockets of fighters of varying sizes. The military would deploy the 13th Special Infantry division in transport aircraft to the North, dropping groups of them behind the lines to start hunting down hostile forces and as well, to purge cells from behind the line and soften them up, as well as help with IED clearance.
Other units as well began to filter in to assist as was needed, primarily more light infantry forces. Come the 20th day, they had pushed the rebels to the edge, and only a few solid pockets of consistent and firm resistance remained now, with most of them being to the North East, and then only a few mostly made up of the Republican guard and some URF holdouts towards the Insectoid border.
