Laurence raised an eyebrow at Minister Howell, a bit confused by his question. "King Rufus is your reigning sovereign, is he not? Please, forgive me if I am mistaken, the last contact we had with Ulster-Gaelia was back during our war of independence, and even then it would've been my father that had the connection. Am I not remembering correctly or..?"

Howell got angry again but not at Laurence, he glared at the Galran, “Rufus was...killed in the stoal war. He was trying to evacuate the emerald palace and was caught in the bombings. Our queen Meredith led us during the war and after we found ourselves at its end she passed power to her young daughter Colleen.”
Howell turned to Laurence, “That emperor Laurence, is why no Gaelian will ever forgive the Galra. The thousands dead from their unrestricted bombing of Edinburgh, the loss of our sovereign king, and the millions they caused to die in their war.”

The Commissar would laugh to herself as she saw the glares from the Minister of Gaelia. So many fools who can't even put aside their warmonger tendencies at a peace conference. She sipped her water and went to greet the new arrivals, ensuring that she had a stop and chat with the Silurifo. After all if she was going to be treated with disrespect by some of the attendees, might as well show them she herself held no grudges. After all it was Eonia who suffered the second most casualties in the war, and as such the URRV had lost the most to the Galrans. After the conversation she went to meet with some of her aides, discussing something in private with them causing one to hurry off before going to sit back down, looking contented with what was occurring.

As Howell called him Emperor, Laurence winced, taking a second or two to put himself back on track. Regardless, he understood the Gaelian's feelings on the matter. Having been steeped in war almost since birth, he knew very well the anguish it brought. "Words cannot express my sorrow at the loss of King Rufus. While perhaps I did not know him personally, the Emperor spoke of him as a most exceptional, selfless man. I haven't any doubt that he rests in Talla Nam Marbh, full of pride for his countrymen for their valor in the face of so great an enemy. I apologize if I may have poured salt in a wound yet to heal."
He spent a moment in silence out of respect, before speaking up once more. "Forgive me, but I probably should've introduced myself more properly when we first met, I am Imperator Laurence Bruce Albion the sixth. My father was Emperor Laurence Argyll Albion the fifth. The Empire of Eleria, along with the title of Emperor, died with him on the battlefield."
As he spoke of his predecessor, he seemed put-off, angered by that brief moment of recollection.

Howell picked up on Laurence’s tone as he spoke of his father, “seems we’re all wounded from the last decade still, nevertheless, imperator I hope we can get something out of this meeting worthwhile.”

Howell grinned believing even if a peace conference here failed then it was at the most productive for his country. He gave no mind to the Galran trying to ignore him, they had a hard time ignoring Gaelian bombers paying them back in the war. With no one really taking the podium he made a formal request to the Lusatians to speak.

Minister Utkin would watch the entire spectacle from the side, shaking her head at the thick tension that filled the room. While this can be good for everyone, it's only good if they stop trying to turn everything into a bar fight.
She'd take a seat in the middle of the room, throwing a leg over the other she sat there. She'd pull a notebook out of her bag, writing something briefly on it before preparing for the Lusatian delegates to speak.

Asides from briefly giving a look of disapproval towards the selected delegate from Galra, the Lusatians would continue to discuss with the various newly arriving delegations, catching them up on what they had missed.
In the meantime, the floor was yielded to Minister Howell, for him to share his thoughts.

Howell would prop himself to speak on his Shillelagh, "I think, at the very least we should form an oversight committee to advise nations in the prevention of war and at the most form a security council and governing body. Otherwise, I don't see how this could really work, nothing has ever been attempted before. But I suppose the UKUG will attempt it." He looked to the Lusatians, "you got us at the least" nodding to them like they were old friends that had seen years of hardship. Howell sat back down grimacing at his left knee, he looked to Laurence and muttered "For all the stoal in the world, do not get old."

Laurence chuckled quietly, "Should the mother see fit, perhaps I'll reach an old age, but I'd imagine the father has very different plans in mind. Not that it makes much difference to me, provided Eleria prospers."

Ambassador Eclat would make his thoughts on the UKUG's proposition known. "While not opposed to the idea in its entirety," the Ambassador said, "The specific implementation of such a council would naturally change our fondness towards the idea. Too powerful, and the council could do as it please with no opposition. Not enough, and it may as well not exist, almost just as bad. Finding the right balance will be tough, but Franerre is willing to attempt to find it."
