When the Kumo message arrived, the convoy was already almost a quarter way through the Walval Ocean. Given that it was the most direct and the shortest route to Elenria, it would've been obvious to everyone that that would be the route taken. The captain of the lead ship decided to deliver a response himself.
"The food convoy is sailing in an East-bound direction through the Walval Ocean to conserve time. We will not resist attempts by your fleet to intercept the convoy in order to conduct an inspection. Not the we could - the convoy is comprised entirely of merchant vessels. There is not a single gun on board. We would not be able to resist even if we wanted to." He put down the radio. Turning to his first mate, there was a mix of anger and fear in his eyes. "Calling anything that doesn't tickle their personal fancy an act of war. Bah! One would think that with such a formidable navy they wouldn't be so insecure."

His Highness sat the transcript of the broadcast down in front of him, not quite sure what to feel, only knowing for certain that he was surprised. Not a bad surprised, mind you. Ashigawan decolonization was the best news the King had heard in a long time, and the fact that the new Princess was willing to pay so much back would certainly help to ease tensions at the boarder. But was it enough to fend off war? Especially considering the telegram that came from Ashigawa saying that talks had failed. Was war coming or not? If it weren't, what actions would the Kingdom take? Sending their own aid unprovoked would be tantamount to admitting they had helped bomb that train, when that was false. It was the wrong time for that, then, but the idea still lingered in the back of his mind. Either way, a royal response was needed. King Dante grabbed hold of his pen, and began to write.
Shortly after the Empress's speech, one from King Dante would go out over Franch radio waves. People of Franerre, this is His Highness, King Dante Emmanuel Marchégia IV addressing you directly.I wish to applaud the new Empress for her government's new stance towards democratization and the decolonization of Ashigawan colonies. Such a radical change may be difficult for Ashigawa, but I have no doubts in my mind Empress Yuzuru has the ability to accomplish it.As for those who perpetrated those crimes in Elenria, I implore the Tennō to make their trial international. I can imagine no greater a first step to redemption than making their trial for all to see. Vive la Franerre!Everyone who listened to the message couldn't help but notice the lack of an address for parts of the Ashigawan message, though none wished to call it out.
