Economy of TAKPOE
As a prefecture of Kumosenkan, TAKPOE's colonial economy is commanded by the guide and will of Kumosenkan's government and own corporate authorities. While this severely hampers Elenria's own independence and growth in more matters than economics alone, it comes as no surprise that the investment put into Elenria's extraction of natural resources by their Kumo occupiers has brought a degree of modernization, though small, to a previously pre-industrial region. While this does mean significant investment into the exploitation of such raw material as ore, food, and wood, more recent investment into Elenria has lent way to technical schools and the creation of foundries and refineries able to process the harvested resources into alloys and finished goods.
By the safety of Kumosenkan's vast fleets, the Elenrian merchant marine is able to deliver these tithes and dues on a timely basis to Krelan and return with foreign technologies and knowledge. The fruits of the exchange are inconsistent and horrendously unfair at even good times, but nevertheless the evolution of the modern Elenrian economy by this painful price is one that the Queen has deemed acceptable, bringing such luxuries like electric components for radios and chemicals for the household domestic commodities.
(derg note: This is written as before the coming Kumo reforms that annul the taxes in general. When that thread is wrapped up, I'll strike out most of this passage to indicate its irrelevance)
Agriculture
For what it lacks in modernity, the vast fields and terrace farms of manually labored of food across the Elenria feeds 63% of the population despite being heavily taxed by Kumosenkan as an entire industry, so that TAKPOE leadership often must import food from elsewhere to stave off famine as it stands. Fishing manages to feed at least an additional 24%, entirely fed by private individuals based off the coast and in the Bromsoll.
Manufacturing
good question. wip
Mining
Easily Elenria's largest industry and the one with the most Kumosenkan investment alongside refining and processing the ores extracted from the ground, the mining industry easily absorbs a large portion of the closed economy- around 45%, pulling coal, staol, and various metal ores from wolfram to magnetite to fuel the fiery bellies of industry.
Refining
Metallurgy stands a good suit of TAKPOE industry at 23% of the economy, sinking the raw resources of the miners' efforts to create steel and tungsten, valuable components desperately needed for the unending hunger of the Kumosenkan fleets.
Rail
While nowhere close to the juggernaut of transportation that is Ida Koi's grasp on the supercontinent, TAKPOE does hold a vast excess of civilian-grade railcars that allows for private companies to provide some small degree of modern transportation throughout the northeastern parts of the country. Although small in return for this service, rail nevertheless makes up a vital component of the TAKPOE economy in cargo and transportation fees, at about 9% of the economy due the relatively small size of the laid tracks across the nation. This is accompanied by the state-owned rail system that provides the vital mechanical heart of the country beating, making up the bulk of rail traffic in TAKPOE.
Lumber
There's a lot of forests. What am I supposed to say, instructions to make syrup?
