International Relations Blossoming In Spring
At Northshore Pier earlier in the month, a foreign vessel approached Elerian shores, flying the flag of the United Kingdom of Ulster-Gaelia. They arrived on a warship, though a small one, with Elerian military assets reportedly not firing on the approaching corvette. She sailed into the pier uncontested, where witness reports state several foreigners de-boarded the vessel and set foot on Elerian soil, meeting with the White Guard before being whisked away within the Imperator's own MacLellan Commissariat. Many citizens and residents alike report confusion surrounding the event, with precious few details being known about the event aside from this occasion marking the first foreign actor permitted to set foot within the Imperium. The following is an excerpt from an interview with Sgt. Hawes, 31st Infantry Division, a veteran of the civil war with much experience fighting on the side of our Imperator.
"I get that the Imperium can't just hide itself and cloister away like we used to before, but I think we'd all just like to know why. Why meet with the Gaelians, and why in Iomairt itself? During the war, we were told that one of the reasons for our fight was to keep the Emperor from allowing foreigners to have such great influence over our country, but now the Imperator goes and takes those same steps? Aye, maybe it's different since it's Ulster-Gaelia, they certainly helped us plenty in the past, or at the very least they did what they could, but who's to say they'll do the same?"
We reached out to the Imperator for comment, who provided this statement before our editorial staff.
"I understand the concerns of every citizen and resident of our great Imperium regarding the arrival of the Gaelians on our shores, and I appreciate the vigilance of each and every Elerian as we press forth in these most uncertain times. It is true, of course, that they were brought on my orders to Whitecliff Palace, where a meeting was held between myself, the Imperatrix, and a Minister Howell of the United Kingdom of Ulster-Gaelia. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential economic ties and cooperation between our two great nations. Long have we waited for the time to be right to make ourselves known unto the world at large, longer still have we kept sheltered away on the isle with little ability to fully develop and exploit the resources around us. During this meeting, the Imperatrix and I were able to form a deal with the Gaelians in exchange for their assistance in developing the newly conquered territories on the main continent. In addition, Gaelic private companies have been given the opportunity to assist in expanding our railway infrastructure across continental Eleria, with Wallace Rail and the Great Western Railway able to help lay rail lines and sell the locomotives to run along the track. It is my belief that re-forging these ties with our long distant friends will prove most beneficial for Eleria. As the world around us continues to grow more and more powerful by the day, we must rise to meet them, lest we find ourselves merely a footnote in the annals of history."
Many on the isle remain skeptical of the Imperator's decision, citing the great risk to national security that such agreements present. Polls taken on continental Eleria tell a very different tale, with a vast majority of the settlers hopeful for the future, eager to see what benefits this will have for their quality of life.

In a match fit for the history books, the Mariners and Wardens faced off in a neck and neck match of Slat-Tomhais Blàr, going into ninth overtime for a total score of 18-16, with the Wardens barely managing to sneak away with the win after a brutal near two hour long match. The scenario was a simple hostage situation, with the attacking team required to escort the hostage from a set of ruins and over a safe boundary. Each team fought their hardest, with the hostage being extracted a grand total of nine times throughout the course of the match.
The final round of the match was electric, with the attacking Wardens breaching the ruined compound guns blazing, Krakowski putting a round into Thomas's chest in the surprise of the breach, before being hit in the arm. Several Mariners laid down suppressing fire while the Wardens tried to secure some solid cover within the room. Two of the Wardens, namely Abreu and Jameson, were picked off trying to reach a nearby corner hallway, leaving only Belliard and Guzman to finish the round for their team. The two fought hard to place shots on the defending Mariners, managing to place one on Jackson's right shoulder, leaving three defenders, two attackers. Content with the pick they'd gotten, Guzman and Belliard proceeded around the side of the ruins, attempting to get a flank. The Mariners were slow to reposition, for fear of giving up their numerical advantage. Guzman was able to place a shot into the backs of two of the Mariners using his sidearm, but the final man, LaVerkin was able to get his rifle around in time to place a shot into Guzman's gut, knocking him out of the fight. Now in a close-up one versus one matchup, Belliard and LaVerkin played patiently, but LaVerkin stepped on a shell casing, letting Belliard know his location and place a round square in his chest, finishing the match with the Wardens victorious.
