The UKUG had posted several contracts for its companies to fulfill in the building of Elerian infrastructure. Billions of pounds for the taking, Wallace rail and GWR were already on their way to map out their proposal for rail networks, factories that could produce needed materials for asphalt, copper wiring, telecommunications equipment, water lines, and even farming equipment began bidding for fulfillment contracts.
Labor companies began sending posts to local unions and even Eleria needing all the workers they can get to begin work on everything from road layouts to deforestation. They would need Elerian guides and representatives to assist in where they wanted their roads and infrastructure.
For now the two biggest companies with everything to gain, Wallace rail and GWR were on their way to Eleria to pitch themselves as the builders of the Elerian railway.

The government would receive a few bids from companies as the contracts became available. However, The Royal Steel Company, the nation's largest steel manufacturer and provides steel for rails for both Wallace Rail and the GWR, would pull its bid less than a day later as many of the companies PR and HR team would inform the company of the poor decision it would be.
"We sell our goods to two of the world's largest markets who are both mixed species. Us getting involved in with this state can cost us a lot more than the government and a backwater state in Touli could afford to refund."
With the pulling out of one of the largest companies, several other companies from the mainlands would pull out too, leaving only those who didn't do work outside of the islands to bid.
The GWR would soon feel some economic backlash as their bid became public in Zedonia, where large parts of the local population are non-human in origin. Trains would be left empty in their platforms as workers would decide to walk between the rural and urban areas, and goods would be put on trucks and some areas going as far as horseback to protest the railroad.
"We've been persecuted for far too long in other countries, and those of us who came here for a better life don't want it to end because of some ex-colony of the oppressors." "The government and all these companies want to help a country that would rather see all of us ripped from our homes. I won't have it." As news spread throughout the colony, more and more non-human communities would begin to boycott any company found to be participating in the bid, causing some companies to pull out while others make their bids in secret.
Many of the local non-human businesses would push away customers they found to be part of the bidding, forcing large companies to have to import expensive from the main islands rather than purchase the cheaper made and cheaper to transport materials of the colonies.
The city of Sepedia would soon see its own issues, with some of the local non-human unions and large swaths of farmers taking to the streets in protest of the Elerian bids. "We will not help a state that wants us all gone! We will give our labor to a government that wants to help those who wish harm to its citizens!"

Minister of Trade Simon Eddard’s phone hadn’t stopped ringing since the strikes occurred, what was supposed to be a massive boon to the already thriving UKUG economy was now a massive headache. Moriarty was busy dealing with another affair so it was his job to fix it. He was to meet with Fredrick Yadzik a Lusatian investor and Richard Gordon a Clan noble that was investing in the Elerian project.
“Just fire all of them dammit, ungrateful bastards! All this money and they won’t do their job!” Fredrick had been infuriated since the strike began, he had sunk 1.2 million pounds almost his entire fortune after leaving the commonwealth into the project to double his return. “You can’t fire them, they’re protected by Galeian labor laws and the unions.” Richard was calm, he knew they could resume the work and keep their deal with Eleria, it would just take time. “I came here to escape socialist conditions and low and behold they are here too! Whose the fuckin idiot who put that law in?!” A loud bang coming from Simon hitting his fist on the table silenced the Lusatian, “King. Rufus.” Fredrick slunk back into his chair knowing better to insult the former king. “I am meeting with the union heads tomorrow to discuss terms to resume their work and I’ll need to head to zedon with the prime minister to see what can be done in Zedon but you need to be patient. No stupid crap.” Simon stood up and gathered his things, “both of you assemble what you’ll need to get operations resumed. As for the, public reaction I will get the CBC to take care of that.”
Simon would meet with the union representatives at his office in Edinburgh the next day.
