Ouhiri, pronounced Oh-ee-re, is a planet similar to Earth orbiting the star Ryvon, a G6Vab-Class star that is approximately 0.9 Solar Masses. The planet has a single known continent, with sparse islands jutting out of the turbulent oceans near the coasts.
The world is run off of Staol (colloquial names may vary), meaning Star Coal, a material that was deposited by several meteors that struck the planet throughout its life. The material left behind burns hotter that coal, more efficiently than oil, and cleaner than both, giving it a lasting reach that forced the other two to step back. Ground transportation is the norm, with gas-powered airplanes never becoming normalized and coal-fired ships never seeing much need.
The world is on the brink of war as the Galran Empire and the Shahdom of Seleucidenia butt their imperial heads for yet the hundredth time. The precious resource lines are threatened daily, the lifeblood of all nations seemingly another tool to use against your enemies against the wishes of everyone. Alliances are being tested as aggressors saber rattle with the backing of their allies while those neutral to the conflict continue to live on the great economic successes of the booming global economy.
Who knows how long peace will last?
