Royal Airforce unveils new bombing fleet

RAF officials have unveiled the UKUG's newest bombing craft to enter service, the T-30 CAS bomber and T-30A carrier attack craft were coordinated with Marrlan and Roskana to assist in close range assaults against ground and naval targets. The T-30A was specifically made to assault naval craft and is planned to replace the Mud Dauber by 1935. The other bomber entering service the Granna Ra by Ferris Combine is a medium bomber that can fly long ranges and drop several payloads of high explosive bombs, the RAF wants to begin production of the Granna Ra immediately and ship it to all corners of the Emerald Empire. RAF command stated performance with bomber craft in the Xagreau war has shown that they're becoming essential to the evolving modern battlefield. 

Zedonia governor plans to open more immigration land deeds

The Governor of Zedonia announced today that he intends to open more land deeds to attract more immigrants across Ouhiri to settle in the UKUG colony, with Cricon developing and creating jobs several Gaelic Zedonians have left for the island colony or simply refused to leave the Northeastern region. Pushing development has been slow in Zedonia as over 78% of the colony is vast wilderness and untamed countryside. Parliament is in session concerning funding for Zedonian infrastructure improvements but show concern that the current workforce won't be enough to meet deadline. The Governor of Zedonia hopes to attract more immigrants as the GWR projects in Mil'Nor and Cricon's own infrastructure projects have drained Zedonia of available workers. 


Midsummer Festivals kick off

Across the Northern hemisphere, Midsummer festivals have kicked off. With every town and village holding its own different traditions, some have taken to games, feasts and a large communal break from work. Beer companies in Cladai Orga reported an increase of 4% in shipments this year across the United Kingdom, imports of foreign beer also increased however some towns and shires are protesting Grinvel by not purchasing their light lager beer for the festive season. Some economic experts state the protests could cost Grinvel millions of pounds in lost revenue while an increase in Ashinaran beer imports such as  Liuvske dark beer. Festivals will conclude with firework shows at night. 



Pairc Na Warriors steamroll into first number 1 seed

For the first time in the team's history, Pairc Na Warriors are the number 1 seed in the UKUG Gridiron league. Pairc Na since its inception as a team has only six winning seasons in the nearly fifty years of being in the league. But this season with a powerful run game and a defense assembled by Head Coach Torrance O'Keith they sit nearly undefeated and heading into the final stages of the season at the Number 1 seed of the Gold Conference. In a stunning upset, Pairc Na defeated last year's Championship winning team the Baile Glas Knights 24-21 to win the top seed and gain a bye week before playoffs begin. In the Red Conference the Jamestown Kings clinched the number 1 seed defeating the Cladai Orga Leprechauns in a muddy rain game in Cladai Orga 6-9. Playoff Football will begin in a few weeks getting the entire UKUG riled up as the last few teams prepare for a chance to win the King's Cup.

Anti war protests flare up for third straight week

Embolden and enraged, thousands of Gaelic citizens marched on the streets of several major cities across the Empire and her colonies to protest the actions of the Kumosenkan Empire and its war on Frannerre, they also protested the lack of action from both Parliament and the Emerald throne. Kumo flags were burned in the streets with crowds chanting, "Death to the Empress!". Reporters caught a few of the leaders of the protests who stated that Kumo's aggression is unchecked and dangerous to Ouhiri's unstable peace. No comment was made from the Gaelic government on its reaction on the Kumo invasion.


Colonies begin experiencing high standards of living

The mass of colonial infrastructure projects in Cricon and Zedonia has brought many amenities thought only available on the home islands to the colonial territories. Clean running water, viable roads, improved railway networks and electricity have been only some of the things introduced into the region. Increased electricity in the mainland is also expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Feely electronics unveils new cheap radio for UKUG market

Feely electronics has released an affordable small radio for households across the United Kingdom, the C1 or greenway radio is now available at most stores and corner shops across the main islands and will be available in the colonial empire later this season. Costing a simple 1.11 this radio allows most households access to public radio station broadcasts and allows more radio stations to thrive with a much larger audience. 




King McDonald pushes Parliament to consider extension of military budget and spending. 

King Rufus McDonald appeared before Parliament to approve another 33.2 million pounds to be spend from the Emerald throne's personal treasury and another 12.4 million pounds in the UKUG treasury on military spending. The King cited the recent wars in Touli and the rise of the SU as prime examples of continuing the rather high military spending habits of the UKUG. Parliament will convene and vote on whether or not to approve the spending or make strides in reduction of military spending. 


Think tank warns of global warming

An Ulster-Gaelic think tank in Cathair Iariann has released a detailed report that indicates the continued industrialization of Ouhiri could lead to global warming or climate change, while the government ignored these warnings the group detailed that they believed by 1960 most of the planet would be massively industrialized and begin to do irreparable damage to the environment.

Parliament weighs terminating Frannerre trade deal following boycotts


Parliament openly discussed a review on Frannerri-Gaelic trade practices, following a large scale boycott of Gaelic goods in major Frannerre cities and towns. The Ministry of Trade has called the boycott a direct violation of open trade policy between the two countries and could result in termination of a 9 million jewel trade network between the Kingdom of Frannerre and the United Kingdom of Ulster-Gaelia and her colonial empire. Voting will open in a few weeks on the matter, the Ministry of Trade commented that goods sold to Frannerre would be diverted to Ashinara, Kithium and Mil'Nor to prevent hard losses on the UKUG economy. 


Royal Airforce reports scuffle with Galra

The 84th Star Wolf interception squadron reported a close encounter with Galran fighters near the Northern strait, the entanglement lasted 34 minutes before Galran aircraft returned due East to their homeland. Royal Airforce officials stated that encounters like this have only increased in the last year. This has pushed to Parliament floor funding to be approved in building more AA guns and aircraft as Defense Command believes an assault in the air is likely on the home islands. 


Studebaker poised to become one of the largest in Ouhiri

Studebaker Auto reported that annual sales increased by 5% last year following successful operations in their Ashinarian, Pomaz and Gaelic factories and sales lots. With plans to expand into Marrlan by the end of the year the car company could become one of the largest of its kind in Ouhiri. Founder and CEO Charles Studebaker stated it was all part of his personal mission to bring affordable cars to as many people as possible and create the possibility of transportation.

Parliament shelves Frannerri trade cancellation, moves up SATO obligations to Ashinara. 

Taoiseach Richard O'Donnell has requested that talks begin on approving several millions of pounds worth of military support upgrades to Ashinara, these include firearm tech development, assisting in aerial technology and the construction of a modern battleship for Ashinara within the UKUG ports on Alba. The talks will delay a vote proper on whether or not to cancel the Frannerri trade deal which would result in the end of a multimillion jewel trade route. 


Common House and Nationalist Party select front runners for 1934 election

In a stunning move, the Gaelic Nationalist Party has decided to not follow through supporting current incumbent Richard O'Donnell in the upcoming Taoiseach election and instead chose to go with Gavin Irvine. The party stated that while Taoiseach O'Donnell has had two successful terms as the elected head of the democratic government of the UKUG, he has failed to follow party interest. Richard O'Donnell plans to run as an independent for his third term. Common House has selected Terry O'Toole as their front runner, O'Toole rides on a large platform of opening talks with Kumosenkan and creating a large scale effort to force non-aggression with the Sovereign Union. 


GWR set to purchase 810 Caledonian model

For the first time since the company was founded, Great Western Railway will be purchasing Wallace Railway locomotives. In an effort to keep up growth in Touli with the Kithium and Mil'Nor railway expansions finding more freight and passenger trains flowing through Zedonia, GWR has requested to purchase over 50 locomotives from its chief rival. The sale was approved by Wallace Railway executives and the Ministry of Transportation. The move sees a large scale shift in GWR practices with locomotive purchases as the company has largely kept their locomotive development and procurement in house for the last 40 years. Wallace Rail meanwhile buys from the Republic of Koi and other companies to fulfill their network needs. 




The most used locomotive in the UKUG will now sport GWR green livery in Zedonia.


Xaspesh-Gaelic trade agreement amended.

Taoseach O'Donnell and King Rufus McDonald met with Xaspeshi President Paulo Fransisco to discuss extensive trade and outlying debt issues between the UKUG and Xaspeshi Federation. Both sides have amended the current trade agreement to varying degrees in which both parties will benefit but critics in the Federation state that President Fransisco gave up too much in order to avoid debt default. 

The deal concludes that the UKUG reduces their debt hold over Xasesphi by 17%.
Debt default timeline moved to 1950.
Xaspeshi may begin using more nationalized currencies to avoid rampant inflation in its domestic markets.
Xaspeshi agrees to sell agricultural goods to UKUG at a reduced price fixed at 45% below market until 1945.
Reserian farmers are allowed to retain their holdings in the Federation. 
Xaspeshi will begin purchasing military arms from the UKUG ending a 20 year relationship with the Frannerri military.
Xaspeshi will exclusively use the Royal Merchant fleet to ship goods off Touli.
UKUG via GWR will expand railway networks from Jamestown into the Federation using standard gauge.
Xaspeshi agrees to buy its consumer goods, over 56% of their market need from the UKUG.
Xaspeshi agrees to continue buying Gaelic coal at a reduced price 14% below market value from UKUG.
Construction materials for the rebuilding of the Xagreau war will be sold at a fixed rate until 1935.
Xaspeshi will continue to use Gaelic pounds in the international market and use the Gaelic banking system.

The deal goes into effect in 1934, and will allow the Federation to avoid defaulting on their loans and boost the UKUG economy.

Historic meeting between UKUG and Kumo

King Rufus McDonald has become the first Gaelic monarch in the history of the United Kingdom to step foot in Kumosenkan and has successfully reopened talks with the Empire of Kumosenkan. Under a deal struck with Empress Reito the UKUG and Kumosenkan will open trade, cooperate in naval safety and procedures, and allow diplomatic processes to resume after almost 30 years. The deal has rocked the Gaelic world ending a Cold War with Kumosenkan seemingly overnight after SATO agreed to redirect itself from Kumo interest and focus on the pressing matter that is the Sovereign Union's expanse in Western Touli. 

Gaelic Parliament hailed McDonald's meeting as a monumental accomplishment stating it has brought peace to the realm and the Shawbalt ending what could have been a disastrous war. Several Gaelic markets are preparing to trade with Kumosenkan for the first time in over 30 years expecting to trade Yairen.



RGS Torix launches from Baile Glas

A new Boudica class battleship launched today, the RGS Torix becomes the newest battleship to join the Royal fleet, thousands of civilians watched as she entered the channel and will join the 4th Gaelic fleet in Northern Alba safeguarding the Northern Passage trade lane between Lusatia and Ulster Gaelia.
