"Great," Kudasov said, as he began scribbling in a somewhat elaborate cursive on the paper. "I believe we should have enough stockpiled in the National Reserves to pay for those 30,000 machine guns in a single payment. I shall write everything else here in order of importance.
50,000 Helmets - free of charge 30,000 Light Machineguns - for the price of 90,000 Rubber - to be paid in full in first shipment
Prices to be discussed for the following: 500 long range artillery (at least 10 km range) 500,000 Helmets
20 Ground Attack Aircraft 10,000 Hand Grenades 10 Landships 50 Tankettes

"We can do 200 long range artillery, for 45,000 heavy equipment. 500,000 helmets for 30,000 units of luxury goods, 20 heavy trifighters that can ground attack for 7.3 million Pounds. 10 Landships for 100,000 units of rubber. 50 tankettes for 4500 units of silver, 40,000 rare minerals and 450,000 pounds."

Kudasov listened intently to what Walsh was listing off, while he pulled a manila folder out of the bag he brought with him, the same one he took the Kumo gun out of, and was comparing what Walsh was saying to what he had written in the files in his folder.
"We can pay for all the Landships in short order, perhaps, in just 2 seasons? The heavy equipment for the artillery would be a little harder. I think we'd be able to pay that one off in 4 seasons. The luxury goods would definitely be quite a bit harder... Even if we pull out of the international market entirely to direct all of our luxury goods towards this payment, it would take us... 6 seasons? For the tankettes, we can make the silver in a single payment, the rare minerals would have to be divided between 8 seasons.
Finally the Pounds for the planes and part of the payment for the tankettes. As you may have guessed by my position, I'm not exactly financially versed. How do you propose we pay you in a currency we don't have? The most obvious solution I can think of is we sell you some of our recourses directly for the Pounds, which then we would give right back to you as part of this payment. Other than that, looks like we'd be able to pay everything else off in just 2 years."

"Convert your currency to how much it would be to pounds and pay us that? I think that would be best. The other payment options for everything else sounds good though."

Several weeks later...
Hundreds of ships began a constant flow between UKUG territories and Ashinara, Gaelic sailors became accustomed to Ashinarian port towns and brought in their pounds to spend in shops for souvenirs and food. Work crews would begin work on the new factories. Cargo ships would bring in helmets, weapons and equipment. A clear flush of wealth and trade also invited Gaelic warships to patrol lanes in the Central Shawbalt.

As the influx of sailors venturing into the port towns began, as they were trying to buy things with Gaelic currency unfamiliar to the locals, they would first be refused, resorting to bartering, however the chaos of that would lead to an Edict being passed down from the Royal Palace within just a few days. Currency exchange booths manned by government employees would be set up in ports, with Gaelic signs pointing towards them. There the sailors would be able to exchange their Pounds for Hryvnias, and enjoy the ability to easily buy what they wanted, while Ashinaran government collected the Pounds that would later be payed back to UKUG as part of the earlier trade deal that brought in these sailors in the first place.

Ambassador Walsh requested to meet with her Ashinara counterpart in regard to the recent Tsunami and Earthquake as the UKUG pledged to provide assistance following the disaster.

An unfamiliar face would greet Walsh, as a young man entered her office in response to the invitation. Wearing a more modern style suit, the young fox had a slightly more subdued coat color, and white tips on his ears and tail rather than black.
"Good afternoon," he said, as he entered. "My name is Pavlo Tkachenko. I'll be the new secretary for UKUG-Ashinaran relations".

Walsh showed some slight confusion, but put it aside as maybe her old colleague was promoted. "It's wonderful to meet you! I am here to relay that United Kingdom wants to aid and support Ashinara following this tragedy."

Tkachenko took a seat in the chair. "The help would be greatly appreciated, Pani Walsh," he began. "Thankfully only one island - and not even the main one - has been affected. It has only two decently sized city, in addition to a number of villages."
"But, I believe, the question would be down to if we can afford your support. You better than anyone know, we're already indebted greatly to your nation."

Walsh tilted her head in confusion, "There is no price. It is free to support and relieve the misery inflicted on your people." She grabbed a letter signed by King Rufus McDonald, "7 million pounds, 200 tons of food, 200 tons of medical aid and 1000 tons of construction materials. Are all free to assist your nation."

Tkachenko's eyes widened and his tail froze still. Was this... for real? Were the Gaelians just offering free support? No, there had to be some caveat, some fine print in this. What do they gain from this?
"Of course..." he thought to himself, "this is one massive favor that they are no doubt to call in when they are in time of need as we are right now. Accepting it will no doubt draw us closer into the UKUG sphere of influence, undoing a number of pan-Toulian efforts. Rejecting it, however, is no doubt to show offence, risking them leaving us to the wolves of Kumo..."
Tkachenko accepted the letter with a bow. "Thank you, Pani Rozaivna," he said. "And our thanks to your government. The Ministry of Interior will, no doubt, quickly put these resources to quick recovery of the crisis."

Tkachenko requested a meeting with Walsh to discuss a deal on purchase of a small quantities of each type of most modern Gaelian smallarms.
