Following an agreement where Xaspesh used Gaelic currency, allowed the Reserian settlers to retain their properties and install a democratic government the Federation of Xaspesh was founded. However, following the formation of the Federation immediate issues rose when Xagreau nationalist wanted to expel the Reserian settlers. The dispute erupted into the Xaspesh civil war 1901-1907 which resulted in the state of Xagreau forming as a Xaspeshi only ethno state.
