A few days later Sutherland would board the passenger liner siúlóir oighir for coastal Lusatia, he was a rather seasoned diplomat within the UKUG's ministry of foreign affairs having worked up the ladder during the McDonald's reign to earn a top spot in dealing with the nation's closest ally. The brisk cool air of Northern Reseria flowed across the liner the further North they traveled, he would wear long sleeves, trousers and his Clan tartan wrapped on his upper body. When the ship arrived, he would depart to meet with the Lusatians and follow their lead to the place where they would have the meeting.

The arrival of Ambassador Sutherland was greeted by aides of Foreign Minister Kaminski, who took him from the capital's harbor to the University District just east of the Old City and its dockyards. Along the way, the hustle and bustle of morning in the crowded city was well underway. Large scale renovations of the city during the Raszczyk and Gabara governments1 had turned much of the capital into a beautiful, modern city, and the University District was the culmination of their investments into the city, with Kazimierzgrad Polytechnic University and the surrounding shops and houses beautifully reconstructed into turn of the century architectural styles.
Arriving at the campus's library, which held multiple private meeting rooms, usually for students, but in this case reserved by the government, Ambassador Sutherland was led through the spacious entry halls of the library to the second floor, where the meeting room was situated. Entering, he would find Foreign Minister Kaminski and a couple of secretaries, one ready to write a transcript of the meeting in Lusatian, the other, in Caledonian. A translator was also on hand, should either the Foreign Minister or Ambassador require his aid. While Kaminski could understand Caledonian when spoken to him, his ability to speak the language was not as fluent.
Kaminski spoke when he saw Sutherland enter, "Dzień dobry2, Ambassador, I trust your trip was comfortable? It's always a pleasure to welcome our friends from across the channel."
As Kaminski spoke, he made his way over to a generously-sized table, where a cup of coffee, evidently his own, sat, gesturing for Sutherland to come and sit while they talked. As Sutherland approached, one of the aides who had led him to the room would ask if he preferred coffee, tea, or water for the meeting.
1 Prime Minister Eryk Raszczyk and his successor, Prime Minister Cyryl Gabara, were both Liberal Party predecessors of the current Conservative Prime Minister, Josef Pulaski 2 "Dzień dobry" is Polish for "good morning."

"The trip was pleasant as always" Sutherland said taking his seat and would gesture to one of the aides for a coffee with cream and sugar. "Thank you for meeting me here today, i've come to reinforce the old alliance between Ulster-Gaelia and Lusatia as the newly assigned chief diplomat of our embassy here. I've also come to expand a few things if you have the time."
When Sutherland received his coffee, he would thank the aide and start drinking it, he produced a few folders from his leather satchel that contained proposals for further trade between Lusatia and Ulster-Gaelia linking up several industries together and another folder detailing military technology exchanges be expanded beyond the usual small arms purchase here and there.

Kaminski nodded, "It'll be a pleasure to have you as the chief diplomat from Ulster-Gaelia, our friendship with our allies across the sea is of great importance in these dangerous times."
Skimming through the proposals, the Foreign Minister spoke, "These proposals look acceptable. We would both stand to gain from having our essential industries cooperate closely with each other and utilize each others' techniques, and Lusatia is always happy to cooperate with allied governments on military concerns. Your safety is our safety."
He paused to drink from his coffee before continuing, thinking for a moment, "Speaking of our collective safety, the issue of our southern neighbors continues to be of utmost priority to the government. The conflict in Touli offers a means for Galran adventurism if it lasts long enough. While Lusatia is against direct intervention, we should consider our options for if Galra gets involved."

Sutherland gave a surprised look, he was aware of the war in South Touli but his Lusatian counterpart seemed to imply something, "Heavens, do you mean, Galra getting involved in that spat?" He took a drink of coffee before leaning and placing it on a nearby table. "What are you suggesting if they do so?"

"We lack any evidence that they are currently seeking to intervene, but given their colony in Touli borders the conflict zone, it's hard to not see them intervening in some shape or form sooner or later. It would be foolish to respond with an intervention of our own, as it'd place invaluable forces far from home, but we could, with aid from our friends in Seleucidenia, apply pressure to Galra's borders to try and minimize their deployments to Touli, while also increasing our arms shipments to Franerre and Ashinara. Our best bet is to make the Galrans bleed for any efforts in Touli rather than join them in weakening ourselves."
The foreign minister paused, "Again, this is only if they get involved. As I said before, it's only hypothetical, but we believe the threat is there given Galra's strength and ambition."

Sutherland leaned in with a concerned look on his face, "to jest szaleństwo. To involve themselves in some petty squabble among the 'free' states of Touli?" It wasn't so much of Sutherland being skeptical of the claim, Galra had become more and more bold in the recent months, they were gearing up for something. The recent intrusion of the Gaelic channel rose some eyebrows but the stubbornness of Gaelic Parliament and some members of the courts still believed Kumosenkan to the be the threat. "If Galra intrudes in the war, Ulster-Gaelia will support Lusatia's move to arm the alliance against them. But it might be prudent we pressure them as well, we have the armament on their doorstep. So I also suggest we including the Shah if he ever tires of his posh life convene on improving the entente military."

"The Shah probably doesn't need much convincing to posture against the Galrans, and it's high-time we have another Entente Conference, anyway, I agree. After we're done here today, our governments can work out a mutually agreeable time to meet, along with the Shah, and discuss future military cooperation plans and the Galran menace. Is there anything else you wish to discuss, anything beyond the crisis in Touli or Entente commitments?"

"Nothing else, we should get progress on the Entente Conference soon. I will relay this back Baile Glas and get the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ready for it."
