Empress Shiraori Tetsu Kumo Called to the Living Stars
Last night, in the comfort of her home in Fuyonouso, Empress Shiraori Tetsu Kumo passed to the living stars in her sleep. Doctor Takemi declared the cause of death as a random aneurysm in her brain. “The Empress was the pinnacle of health.” The doctor declared. “The unfortunate truth of aneurysms is they can affect anyone at any time, regardless of health, age, or lifestyle.” The Empress's funeral will take place in one week, immediately followed by Princess Reito’s coronation. Both events will be open to the public and you are encouraged to attend. In lieu of flowers, the Princess has requested you treat your family to a nice dinner, and hold them close. In accordance with Imperial law, all flags shall be lowered to half-mast, regardless of military commercial, government, or civilian establishment. A period of mourning will take place in the coming days to allow Her Imperial Majesty to pay her respects, as well as provide the government with time to consolidate. During this time, banks and other select low-level government services such as postal services, bureaucratic offices, and national parks will be closed. Any and all affairs currently in processing will be resumed following the conclusion of the period of mourning. Hospitals, police stations, and other essential services will remain operational. |
