Preparations for Kupaila Festival begin early - foreign guests expected to attend!
One of our oldest traditional festivals, the Kupaila - celebration of the Summer Solstice - is predicted to be larger than usual this year, as this will be the first year this festival is held after we have shed the curtain of isolationism and opened our borders to foreign visitors. As such, to present our rich culture to the world, local governments all over the Isles have come in agreement that organized festivities should be expanded to also include smaller towns, not just large metropolises. Traditionally, the smaller towns and villages would see residents come together to make their own celebration, while in larger cities the state funded authorities would prepare fairs, carnivals, city-wide decorations and the like. While not all towns are expected to receive the attention, those closest to large cities should expect a festive makeover.
Trade Agreements signed
Earlier last week, several envoys from several nations have visited the nation. After prolonged discussions among the Rada, a decision was made to enter trade agreements with the nations - which are yet to be disclosed. The incoming trade is expected to boost the growth of our economy to rates not seen for over 250 years. Top economists in Viden' University predict that over the next 10 years, citizens should see a decrease in most prices, and a sharp increase in goods available.
Automobile production license secured
Last Night the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that a production license for the Gaelian Studebaker Kubal Wagon has been purchased. While the Ministry of Industry claims that the design shall be modified to local production norms, the first domestically built car is expected to roll off the production line in 12 months - this projection includes the time needed to build said production line. The company that will take up the contract is yet to be determined.

Formal relations with Franerre restarted
Some may still remember, but many probably have long forgotten - Ashinara and Franerre use to be close friends several centuries ago, before the Hetmans of old have chosen a path of isolationism for our great nation. The effect of that, however, is still seen in South-Western part of the Oda Island, where many foxes are half human and bear Franerri names. Earlier, after prolonged deliberations, it has been chosen to rekindle this old time friendship, and trade relations have been opened as a first step.
South Touli Crisis
Reports have trickled in through Franerre that the nation in the South Touli - the Union - is in severe economic crisis. It is unknown what caused the crisis at this time, but according to some people fleeing the region, the nation is splitting at it's seams, with armed rebellions deemed a possibility.
War in Touli
Earlier reports from Union of South Touli have been confirmed not only by verifying information, but also by the latest developments. We have all heard the Princess's speech yesterday. The Union has shown itself to be an oppressive regime which de-facto is enslaving it's own people, as the Tafatu people of the North have cried for our help. Troops from the Royal Army have been sent onto the continent, getting to the frontlines through our friend Franerre. No mobilization of the reserves has been announced at this time.
War escalates: Mobilization announced
Reports from the frontlines appear solemn. In their bid to crush the free will of all around them, the Union has sent an unprecedented amount of troops. While the brave troops of the Ashinaran Royal Army is better trained and better equipped, no amount of superior skill and equipment can be enough to stand against a flood of bloodthirsty thugs who flood us by the hundreds of thousands. Remember the brave Cossack Mamoi of old - no matter his almost superhuman strength and legendary skill with a saber, he has still been bested by the Hozar horde with no skill armed with crude flint spears - simply because there were a hundred of them, and just one Mamoi. The UST thugs are the Hozars of today. Don't let the Mamois who are already fighting them to fight alone.

GREAT VICTORY IN THE SOUTH
The battle for the city of Le Troi, the first battle with our involvement, is finally over. A lot of our brave sons and daughters have sacrificed themselves for the glorious victory, as a result of which the entirety of our enemy's army - or, what remained of it - has routed. In a headlong retreat they have made their last stand in the city of Tarafan that they have raped and pillaged earlier, leaving them stranded and out of supplies there - until they were chased down by our ally Franerre, with the ensuing skirmish resulting in the surrender of most remaining enemy troops. The commander of the enemy army has shamed himself, his soldiers and his ancestors by fleeing the field of battle, and his location remains unknown.
CONSCRIPTION QUOTA ALMOST FILLED
A great build up to meet the enemy numbers has been underway for over 7 months. Over 70% of the quota of how much troops we need has been met by volunteers, the rest being left to conscription.
HARVEST FESTIVAL CANCELLED
Due to all efforts being turned to support our brave sons and daughters on the front lines, the great national harvest festival has been cancelled this year. The budget saved from not organizing nation-wide festivities shall instead be directed towards armament production.

BREAKTHROUGH ON THE FRONTLINES: BATTLE OF FERVILLE DRAWING TO A CLOSE, AND JUAZ CAPTURED WITHOUT A SINGLE SHOT FIRED Ministry of War has released an update on the progress of the Central Touli Liberation War. The battle of Ferville, which has lasted for over 8 months, appears to be drawing to a close. With the help of new weapons and equipment purchased from our North-Eastern friends over the ocean, the Ulster-Gaelians, our armies, along with our Franerri and Tafatu allies, manage to force the Union army to begin a retreat. Unfortunately, this feat has come at a great sacrifice - since the start of the battle last winter, it is estimated that 40,000 of brave Ashinaran souls have departed with the Spirits.
Events have unfolded much better another front. The Franerri army marching on Juaz - the strongest Union fortress - from Do'Rville, and thus around the Battle of Ferville, have managed to take it without a single shot fired as the demoralized enemy surrendered immediately. This news have inspired men on the frontline that victory is at hand, and the end of the war is drawing near.

Socialist plot thwarted!Yesterday evening the Socialist separatists, having been partially appeased by our fair Queen by granting them autonomy in Eyrie, have attempted to take over the rule of the entire nation. Through a cunning infiltration of the Royal Guard, their plan involved taking the Queen hostage. Luckily, due to the threat of Galra, the Royal Army has been present throughout the capital, including the Royal Palace, and have stopped the attempt dead in it's tracks. All of the Royal Guards have been arrested - at least all those who have not been killed while resisting arrest - and will be interrogated. Their role shall be temporarily taken over by the battalion of Major Denikin, who have been at the forefront of saving the Queen. Queen fallen ill!
Report out of Royal Palace. Over the last few weeks, the closest confidants of our beloved Queen have noticed her deteriorating health condition. After examination, the Royal Physician has declared the Queen has contracted pneumonia. Whether it is a worsening due to the Queen's refusal to seek treatment, or perhaps a sinister result of yesterday's coup attempt, investigation is still ongoin. Everything possible is being done to ensure her comfort and a speedy recovery, but the Royal Physician worries that complications of chronic nature might follow.
Minister Omelyan Scherbak will, in the meantime, take on the duty of public appearances for the Queen.
