Liberty Party:

Party Leader: Teddy H Roovent

The founding party of the modern Marrlan state, predominantly filled with independence war veterans and idealists. Its main policies are that of capitalism with consumer protections, international outreach/support, interventionism, and spreading democratic ideals to other countries.

Two Lane Party:

Party Leader: Carlton B Hoover

A middle of the road moderate party that is split between the younger and older generations. It focuses mainly on domestic issues, but wants to support some nations that are close in proximity. It's interventionist ideas are mainly through trade rather than military action.

Castle Party:

Party Leader: Langley Richardson
The Castle Party is very insular and advocates for less international presence and more focus on the home front, completely at odds with the Liberty Parties' interventionist ideals. They abhor most other nations, even Roskanans in some cases. They are very nationalistic.

Sailors Party:

Party Leader: Tom B Sanders
The Sailor Party advocates for workers rights. Not just that of Mariners but for all workers and helps protect unions. Although they are still roughly in touch with inlanders, they also advocate for laws that skew things in the favor of coastal peoples which at times has caused them to suffer during election seasons.

Pionarian History:
The Pionare is the head of our Republic and has been so since its founding. The name, in Marrish-Rossi, translates to "One who explores, and leads others to do so.". Below is a list of all past Pionare's since the nation's founding. This archive will be updated as terms come and go.

1st Pionare
Todd O'Rourke
Born 1843
1900-1908
Liberty Party

Originally the Governor of Harbaville and one of the signatories of the Constitution, Todd O'Rourke became Pionare during the first 1900 election after the Independence War. He was unanimously chosen by the the people as he was beloved by all. He lead diligently during the Border war of '04 and would have been reelected. He announced he would not run again in the 1908 election as he had hit the age of 65 and wished to retire after almost 45 years of public service, though he remains up to date on politics and is still an influential speaker. He laid ground work for construction of the Liberty Wall and its forts along with a grand defensive coastal array. His terms attitude was very cheery and warm as he truly was a man of the people. His foreign policy was an age of mingling and trade and built the foundation of many current agreements.



2nd Pionare
Helana "Helga" J. Kent
Born 1873
1908-1916
Two lane Party

After O'Rourke announced his retirement at the end of his term, the next candidate besides Teddy that had a chance of winning was the then Commander Helana of the 3rd "Helga's Hellfighters" Marine Division. It was a close cycle but eventually she won. She continued Todd's border defense project and would see that the wall was finished by the end of her term. She also expanded the Army's budget and lead a recruitment drive bolstered by her time within the service among militias to ensure the Army was overstaffed should Grinvel in her own words, "Get uppity again.". She has since returned to her command. Her overall attitude during her term was stern but fair. A woman not quick to judge and just, but direct and calm. Her foreign policy was partially isolationist as she almost entirely focused on internal issues, though continued to foster relationships in neighboring countries.



3rd Pionare
Wendy C. V. Kerss
Born 1881
1916-Present
Liberty Party

The Current Pionare with the longest running term having been re-elected in 1924. Pionare Kerss served in both the Independence War and Border War and prior to her running stepped down as Colonel of the 5th Infantry Division. Continuing the defense plan she has so far finished work on the coastal defense forts, and spent increasing amounts on R&D projects within the Army and the Beast Hunters. Her term has so far seen "The Trawler incident of '26" which caused the Beast Hunters formal formation. Her terms attitude has thus far been warm but direct. Her foreign policy thus far has been very outward, focusing on force projection and assistance of other Democracies needs.
