Summary: The Union of South Touli is a large conglomeration of various Touli states, cities, tribes and ethnic groups that united in the 1860's to defend against colonial expansion. The Union is rich with abundant resources that could create a wealthy state and empire, but the UST government has failed to centralize the nation, resulting in fragmentation and the rise of secessionist. The Union stands on the edge of a knife, it could become the economic power free Touli needs to compete with the colonials or it could collapse entirely.
Update: The UST is a nation in recovery following its defeat in the UST war, now a democratic Presidential Unitary State.

UST government
The UST government is a single party run government structured with the sole purpose of administrating the massive territory into a single state. In the last fifty years the UST has failed in that regard, with only the internal trade network keeping most of the 'Union' together along with the military enforcing government doctrine.
Southern Politics
The Southern region of the UST is the most developed region, several large cities line the coastal region where the few wealthy consolidate to live in large scale houses and manors. The South has a population of immigrants that are brought over to work over natives in the central regions as the UST became impatient with tribal integration. The Capital is located here on the Central Coast.
Central Politics
Most of Central UST is isolated villages, towns and tribals. The Central region is only relevant for the roads that transport goods from North to South, several military bases here are to suppress native revolts and extend the reach of the South.
Northwestern politics
The Northwest is the second most developed region of the UST, several rich mines, farms and other raw resources feed the UST economy much to the ire of the local population. Northwesterners are often verbally critical of the UST and refer to governance as 'Southerner' interference, there is a rising political movement here for secession from the Union.
Northeastern politics
The Northeast is extremely isolated but rich in resources, the UST pushes mining and extraction hard in this region to fund their ambitions in Touli. Due to its proximity to Galra a large military presence is placed here. Their are rumors of a Communist movement in this region.

TransportationBeside the railroads in the South, most of the Union of South Touli relies on horse and mule drawn carts or wagons for cross country travel. Citizens with a little money usually own a horse or mule to travel with, otherwise they have to walk anywhere North of Zaliboga. The Archambeau Railroad CompanyThe only Railroad institution in the UST, owned by a Seleucidenian millionaire named Rupert Archambeau, it serves in distribution of passengers and cargo within its rail network in the South. As a private company it charges rather high prices and faces no competition thanks to UST government officials keeping it as the only railroad company. Archambeau serves as a member of the UST inner circle and is one of the Oligarchs that controls politics in the country. AUST 78' Medium locomotive SS-69' Cargo/shunting tank engine SS-70' Light standard locomotive Restricted for use by the government, military and some companies. Important figures
Baraka OkeenaPresident of the Union of South Touli, Okeena was selected by the Umoja party as its fifth president of the Union in 1920 following the death of former president Rolo Gutakar. Okeena is largely responsible for the current crisis of the Union and the civil war, Okeena signed off on the loan from Seleucidinia with plans to use it for railway expansions and improvements to the UST infrastructure. Instead, the loan was tampered with by the UST oligarchy and military resulting in no improvements and the Union unable to pay the loan. Facing the crisis of the country falling apart, Okeena has resorted to violent and suppressive tactics that have only acerbated the situation from restless revolt to open war. General Tomka Taronki
A seasoned Union soldier and commander of all UST forces, Taronki is the iron fist that kept the Union together and leads the charge to suppress the rebels and foreign invasion. Taronki learned from Seleucdinian military veterans and often read up on tactics used on the main continent making him likely one of the few competent commanders of the UST military. Captain YakandaCommander of the 5th Army, Yakanda's role in the UST military is an enigma. At Captain he commands the entire 5th Army likely because of his financial connections back South that placed him at his role for social status. Yakanda is a prideful and cruel man that allowed his troops to murder and rape in the early days of the revolts and rebellion. Captain YeedaCaptain of the 16th Rifle Company, Yeeda is a carefree but competent soldier trying to navigate the politics of the UST. Yeeda is despised by Yakando for his blunt honesty and the fact the troops of the 5th Army look up to him over Yakando. Yeeda is a native to the South and believes in fragmentation of the UST will only allow for more war later on.
