He stirred from the train coming to a stop, he fell asleep rather soundly despite the train just going from one station to another within the city. He stretched a bit looking around and getting his bearings looking out the window he was resting his head on, he could see the train station coming into view with several people on the platform waiting to board. A conductor walked into his coach briskly and sharply saying "We've come to South station, depart now if your destination! Stay for Gimble station." he would walk down the middle aisle making his way to the rear coach as people began to gather their things and depart onto the station. Ian Davidson grabbed his suitcase from the upper storage area and made his to the exit, the city of Baile Glas had several of these small trains transporting people on short routes throughout the capital. They filled in where the smaller trolleys couldn't and would connect to larger stations to outbound trains going to other towns and cities. Ian stepped onto the platform, it was already swelling with the sounds of people chattering and walking around. He walked by the blue tank engine as it hissed steam with some of the engineers looking it over before heading further South to the next station before turning back North. Ian entered a sidewalk that ran adjacent to the station, the streets were busy full of people as it was lunch rush, and many were taking a break from work to grab some food. Nearby restaurants, pubs and small stalls serving food would be swarmed by dozens. Ian was heading for a specific chip shop, the smells of cooked food tugged at him as he had been busy and couldn't fix himself some breakfast. After walking several minutes, he saw the sign, 'Old Tom's Fish and Chips' it was a humble but well-known chip shop in South Baile Glas. It had a decent crowd already inside; Ian walked up and saw some of the table outside with people sitting and eating their meals. The shop had maybe three tables inside and a good five tables outside, it was small and what space it did have was behind the counter where the shop workers rolled out deep fried cod fish and chips at a decent pace. Ian walked over to a table where a man sitting reading a newspaper was sitting, "you're a tad early, nothing wrong, just didn't order yet." The man lowered his paper and folded it onto the table, "leave the case, be a good lad and order for us? I'll hold the table." Ian placed the suitcase near one of the chairs of the table, "drink?" Ian asked, "they got some lemon water, and get me the coffee, extra sugar and cream foam." the man pulled out a money clip and placed some Gaelic Pounds on the table, "I want three strips, small chips. And don't forget the vinegar." Ian sighed taking the money, "Anything else Keith?" he said in a tired query, "Get whatever you want, there's enough in there little brother." Keith unfolded the paper and started reading another article as Ian walked into the shop and got in line. Ian always thought about the little intricacies and details some wouldn't think about, for example he pretty well knew as busy the shop kept even when he was a little boy it was this busy, he knew the family made a small fortune running it. All the workers were related, aged 50 to 13 working behind the counter or in the kitchen in the back, his turn came, and he placed the order. He paid upfront and after being given his change it took little to no time and two baskets filled with fish and chips were brought up from the back, "coffee will take some time, here's the two lemon waters." they handed him two glass cups full of water and diced lemons, he walked the two baskets and cups out to the table having done this very thing before quite clearly. He placed the items onto the table where Keith was still reading his paper, "be back, they working on the coffee." Keith folded his paper again putting it up as Ian walked back into the shop where two cups of foam topped coffee were waiting, "sorry bout that mate, busy day and all." said the owner, Ian nodded with a smile as he took the two cups outside and placed one by Keith who was tapping his finger, "you forgot something." Keith said, Ian rolled his eyes and walked back in "Sorry mate, can I get a bottle of vinegar?" the owner moved like automation as if it was something he heard all day producing a glass bottle of dark malted vinegar. Ian gabbed the glass bottle and placed it on the table outside finally taking his seat, he never cared for it but his older brother loved it. Keith was making short work of his food, dabbing the malt vinegar into the fish, "always weird you didn't like this" Keith fired at Ian but Ian just minded his own meal taking little breaks from eating to take a drink of coffee or water. After they finished their meals they stacked the baskets and cups together, they sat for a moment as people continued to walk inside with a few leaving their tables. A few of the younger family members would come out to collect the baskets and cups, cleaning the tables and were shortly taken afterward. "Okay, lets talk shop." Keith slapped the table, "You got the blueprints?" Ian nodded grabbing his suitcase and digging through it, "I think it'll work, i'm basing it off Faoileán. It's a matter of building it and well you know doing it." Ian pulled out a leather satchel with papers inside, "this fighter should outperform everything the RAF has currently." Keith pulled the blueprints out and saw the monoplane design his brother made. "Looks expensive" Keith retorted, "Won't matter, if the rumors are true Galra has a fighter already better than anything we got. And this can be implemented for the navy too, it's imperative we make this work." Keith kept looking through the specifications, Ian had a design down but what kind of materials, engine and if it could even be built would the RAF agree to the price. "Well...fuck it. Let's get to Ferris and see what they say." The two men left their table and began walking toward a covered bench near a road and waited for a double decker bus to pull up, they boarded it and rode it for half an hour before departing in a section of the city where several major banks, businesses and stores were. They approached a building that in steel lettering on the front say, "Ferris Combine" as they entered several people would walking frantically around in a large lobby. Light browns and dark green colors would make up the room which centered to a desk at the middle with a young woman sitting behind it. "Welcome to Ferris Combine gentlemen, how may I help you?" Keith did a polite wave before saying, "We're the Davidson brothers, we're expected with Case Ferris." The woman gave an alarmed look before searching a ledger to verify, "So you are! Please follow me." She stood up still slightly alarmed and waved the two brother to follow her, they entered an elevator and rode it up to the fourth floor. As they exited, they entered an area full of offices where engineers drawing on blueprint boards were at work on several gun designs or aircraft. "In here please, good luck" she left them in front of two dark wooden doors, Keith knocked on the door and looked to his younger brother giving him an encouraging nod, "Come in!" they heard, and they opened the door entering a lavish office filled with bookshelves, old guns, swords, a suit of armor and a few animal heads. "Davidsons! About time. Sit down, want a drink?" Keith raised his hand "I'll take gin" Ian shook his head, "No thanks sir". Keith swatted him in the stomach, "It's alright Mr. Keith. I didn't take offense. Man doesn't want to drink that's his prerogative." The man known as Case Ferris walked over and gave a glass of gin to Keith, he was balding and slightly overweight holding his own glass of Gaelic whiskey. "Sit down Sit down!" he instructed taking his own seat in a leather-bound chair as the brothers sat down in some cushioned seats. "You got a plane for me?" Ferris wasted little time, he knew what he ordered from them, Ian produced the blueprints handing them to Ferris who began to look them over. "Hmmmm Mhmmm, Holy shit. This looks good...but it's fucking expensive. Our boys are working to upgrade the Siskin by summer of next year, this ehhh won't be ready soon." He handed the blueprints back to Ian, "I asked for a supremacy fighter, what the fuck is that?" Ferris took drink as Ian replied, "you asked for an air supremacy fighter. I made you one. This is what we need right now." Keith had his mouth full of gin but was trying to not show his body temperature rising quickly. "It's good, not reasonable right now though. The RAF might not even pay for this." Ian put the blueprints into the bag feeling defeated, Keith then spoke up, "Sir with all due respect, we could make you a bi plane tonight. Something for tomorrow sure, but the thing is. We're behind, Galra has a dedicated monoplane fighter, we need something to compete with that. We also need an edge in the sea against Kumosenkan. This is it. Ferris Combine can give us the edge we need to build it, or...we just." Ferris placed his glass down on the table making a loud distinct 'clink' sound "Or?" he said annoyed now. "Perhaps McCarron would like to see it." Ferris slid his teeth and grinded them, he was visibly annoyed, "You got the balls to go walk to McCarron and offer them this?" Keith nodded, "I gotta put bread on the table, and this plane. Is the one that'll make me fat." Ferris rubbed his head, likely trying to get the sweat wiped that came from him getting angry, "you two, willing to put your entire careers at risk? For this?" they both nodded, Ferris shook his head "Okay. I'll get our team on this and see if we can start work on the prototype. But if you boys are wrong, and you cost me all this money for nothing. I'll end you." Ferris stood up causing the brother to stand up as well, Ferris shook their hands, "Congrats boys, if you're right. You'll be rich. IF not. Well, don't be." he waved them out and they left the office. "I think we fucked up" said Ian, Keith swatted him again "don't fucking say that! I just put everything on the line for this thing, will it work?" Ian paused for a moment before looking Keith in the eyes "It's going to be our best fighter plane."

"We have a month to present it to the RAF and Ministry of Defense." Arthur McCarron and his team were stewing over several designs brought forth, all of them far too expensive and would put them at a considerable delay at replacing any of the fighters currently in service. "None of these work, we need something that we can feasibly put out now." McCarron engineers put several monoplane designs out, only one engineer hadn't produced a design and held onto her blueprints, "You, ehhh" Arthur paused before being corrected by an engineer sitting next to him "Abercrombie, sir." Arthur nodded in appreciation, "Abercrombie, please, your design." With great hesitation she pulled herself together to get the the manilla folder she clutched at out and have it passed down by several others to the head of the long table they were all sitting at. Once Arthur received the folder, she began explaining it as he looked through it, "I call it the Starwolf, its a multi-wing fighter. It lacks the top speed of the prototype monoplane Ferris Combine has but ultimately this fighter can outperform most if not all our current biplane models." Arthur would have been annoyed if this was the first design he saw in the meeting, he asked his team to produce a monoplane fighter to begin work on, but after hitting the wall he faced all day this at least worked. The technology was achievable much sooner and the designs Abercrombie made did show an impressive close range fighter that would boast better performance than most monoplanes. "Are you able to make me a full report on this design?" asked Arthur, Abercrombie nervously nodded. "Have it ready by next week, you'll be going with me to the Ministry to present this. Congrats Ms. Abercrombie. Your design is going forth." A couple engineers clapped a few looked annoyed as her design was not the assignment and some felt she was getting a pass, in truth Arthur needed something and this was the best design. The Ministry of Defense was pushing hard to upgrade the air capabilities of the Royal Air Force, the push dubbed Project Iron Wing had several Gaelic air engineers wrapping their minds on developing new aircraft to receive grants and build prototypes, for the companies that employed the engineers millions of pounds were at stake, for the UKUG the future of their military development was being put into the development of aircraft. "Everyone, make sure you get a copy of this design and start working on this project with Ms. Abercrombie. You're all dismissed." The engineers all stood up and gathered their blueprints, some of them rather discouraged, "Next week, then we're at the Ministry. Be ready." Arthur reminded them as they left, he stayed in his seat rubbing the temple of his forehead, he was the sixth-generation leader of McCarron Arms. His clan's pride and joy. The McCarron Clan had made firearms, artillery, aircraft and other instruments of war for the UKUG well over 400 years going back to when his ancestors forged blades for the UKUG army. The new era was all about mechanical warfare, they had lagged behind their rivals Ferris Combine and needed to regain the edge. Meanwhile Shaeleigh Abercrombie was overwhelmed, she left her blueprints with the overnight staff to make copies and was making her way to the nearby train station to take a train to the North section of the city. Baile Glas was already illuminating its unnatural florescent glow as the sky darkened and people began making their way to nearby pubs and restaurants. She fought past the warm smells of food being cooked to the station platform, she would have loved nothing more than to grab some steak and potatoes, it was time for celebration but that could come later. Her wife was making Rumbled thumps and it was her favorite meal, she boarded the train with several others and took seat near the aisle. As the train began to pull the three coaches for the trip to the Northern station she began to smile, her design if approved by the Ministry meant a huge bonus and likely promotion, when she was hired into McCarron Arms as a design engineer in its aircraft division it was something of a surprise to her. She wanted to design civilian aircraft and dreamed of having planes provide travel. The small 0-4-4 tank engine came to a stop at the Northern station, after the conductor called out for people to depart or remain for the outer station. As she departed and made her way up several blocs she would approach a flat, after pulling out some keys and opening the door she was greeted by the aroma of cheeses and vegetables being cooked. Baile Glas cross city tank engine, Wallace Rail colors. "Hey hun! Welcome home, sorry I was late making dinner. The Cafe was overrun today!" Shaeleigh leaned forward and kissed her wife on the cheek, "it was a great day, they took my design Janet" her wife stopped working around the stove making overexaggerated motions, "That's amazing! I can't believe this!". Janet hugged her tightly proud of her wife's accomplishment, "Oh this is a good night! And on a friday! We have to go to that steakhouse near Culberry Street!" Shaeleigh smiled, she loved that steakhouse, and she loved the thought of her wife being proud of her. "I could shove this in the fridge tonight! And we go now!" Janet said still shaking with excitement, "No! This is my favorite; besides we have all weekend. Let's enjoy it." She kissed her wife softly and let her get back to the meal she was working on, Shaeleigh went to the bedroom to get into something more comfortable before looking at her reflection in the mirror. "Enjoy it...because then we have a week."

The UKUG Ministry of Defense building was located at the central square of Baile Glas, near the other ministries and not far from the Parliament. The old brown bricked building flew the UKUG flag on a cemented pole that stood before its concrete stairs leading into the building itself. Inside were dark marbled flooring and walls, at the center the green coat of arms of the United Kingdom. On the second floor of the building was a large conference room with a large table centered, on one side of the table was Ferris Combine and the other McCarron Arms. Minister of Defense Murray Pringle was looking over their two designs, next to him was Air Marshall Benjamin McIntyre who commanded all air forces of the United Kingdom.
The Davidson brothers were nervously waiting for the Minister to finish looking through the blueprints they brought as he was looking through them. The Minister then looked through Abercrombie's making her heart flutter rapidly, she thought her chest was going to explode till a warm hand grabbed hers, Arthur mouthed to her 'you'll be fine, relax' before letting go and looking back at the Minister. She blushed knowing she was visibly excited. Minister Pringle placed the blueprints side by side rubbing his chin and looking at the Air Marshall, "let's ask them a few more questions" said Marshall McIntyre, the Minister nodded.
"What's the purpose of the Star Wolf?" Asked McIntyre. McCarron scooted his chair back and stood up while giving Abercrombie a nod to give her confidence, "The Starwolf is a close range air superiority fighter, it would be equipped with four guns and its primary purpose would be engaging enemy fighters and bombers." The Minister nodded and McCarron took his seat, "What about the Fury?" McIntrye quipped as Case Ferris stood up, he didn't give the Davidsons the same reassurance. "The Fury is all about speed, she's to catch enemy aircraft and can handle herself in a fight." He gave a glaring look at McCarron with the last portion of his statement before sitting down.
Minister Pringle took a deep breathe, he thought it over and muttered, "Both." The parties leaned in, confused barely hearing him, "I apologize Minister...what did you say." Minister Pringle looked at McCarron who asked him and in his soft quiet voice said, "Both. We will take both." A silent anxiety filled the room as confusion settled in, "With all due respect. You said both? As in both fighters for the Ministry's project?" Case Ferris asked slightly annoyed. "We'll take both designs; we need everything we can muster for this project to improve the Royal Air Force. Have your prototypes prepared for testing, a time limit there is not just finish them." Minister Pringle began to gather himself and stood up, as he was gathering his things and Air Marshall McIntyre who was also getting ready to leave the conference room noticed the parties sitting there stunned with confusion said "You're good? Let's get to work gents and lasses." They both walked out leaving the two groups at the table.
"This is horseshit!" Case Ferris yelled, Arthur McCarron snickered at his rival's anger "We both win and you're still angry. Surprise." said Arthur as he started to grab his things which sent a chain reaction to his group to get ready. "Oh hohohohoho you can go fuck yourself McCarron! Our design will be finished first, right Davidson?" the two brothers tried to answer but Case interrupted them "yea! And then the Minister will see, you need to stay designing those little small arms and let us make the good shit. Just piss on off to your little HEY ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!?" Arthur and his party were already leaving the room, "Have a good night, Case, celebrate the new contract." Arthur said before taking his leave, Case's people and the Davidsons were still in the room listening to Case rant, "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Fuck that little shit! I'll show him, our plane is getting done first. D A V I D S O N! Where are those little? Oh you're here." The Davidson brothers were sweating bullets staring at their boss after he went off, "Get to work, i'll pay overtime, i'll pay bonuses, I'll pay god damn everything get it done!" Case awkwardly left the room in his anger dropping papers, clothing his fall coat etc as his assistants behind him picked them up. The Davidsons sat in the room alone, Ian broke the silence saying, "Yea you're right, we're fucked."

--Project Star Wolf-- Abercrombie's team began the process of building clay molds of what her fighter would look like physically, the first task in building this fighter would be finding an engine that was strong enough to carry the fighter, if one couldn't be found existing currently, they would have to buy one from the Roskana or build one. For now they focused on the general build using the models, the Star Wolf was a rear propeller-multi wing fighter that emphasized close range dogfighting. It would be equipped with four primary guns and some models would be equipped with rockets to give light ground support. Giving the fighter enough power with its staol fed engine could be the difference in it being a lasting fighter in the Royal Airforce or it being cycled out as soon as a monoplane came along. The Abercrombie thought to herself, 'if we can't outrun them in top speed, we'll out turn, out dive and outclimb them'. The drag from the multi-wing system simply would just drag the Star Wolf too much for a proper engagement where speed would be a priority, it would be in the close range of aerial combat where the fighter would have to excel. The team continued to nag her about getting the fighter better speed but for now they needed a final model. "This is the one, four guns, rear powered engine, we're going to sacrifice top speed for better maneuverability in close ranges. Since we're going to be slow anyway, we might as well consider armor, the main issue is power. We need an engine. Suggestions?" She looked across the room, the engineers stood quietly thinking of responses, one suggested buying from Roskana "That could work, they're supposed to be building one with another project overseas." Another engineer insisted on using Stewart or Callahan to build it, Abercrombie nodded. "We'll send inquires to them as well, whoever builds the lightest and most powerful engine gets our bid." The team went back to work looking for materials to assemble the prototype with as Abercrombie began making phone calls to Stewart and Callahan, she would also begin writing a letter to R&D to ask the Roskana for an engine built specifically for the Star Wolf. --Project Fury-- The Davidsons were done with their model, but already ran into a problem with their design. Fuel storage. It was something Ian didn't account for in its weight and with the fighter already weighed down by Stewart engine they wanted to use and the ammunition they now needed to find a way to store the Staol properly. "We might have to redesign it" said Ian. Keith was sickened, a redesign would further delay the fighter's progress, but in its current form it couldn't do much. Ian began redesigning the Fury giving it some kind of fuel capacity. He also increased the size of the engine compartment and placed the fuel in the middle, pushing the cockpit to the rear. "This looks nothing like what we brought to Ferris..." Keith complained, "It's still capable of doing what we want it to do, in fact it should be faster and still be able to hold the fuel we need. The issue, is weight." Ian responded. Keith looked over the redesign with a judgmental stare, "This looks...weird now." Ian rolled his eyes, "get it to the modeling team we got to move quickly." Ian also began pulling a catalog of engine makers, Stewart and Callahan were the domestic companies, but he had something catch his eye. Pomazanniki, they had just agreed to a recent trade deal and prior to their market crash they were making several groundbreaking engine designs. "Get inquires to Stewart and Callahan" he told an assistant, "And get R&D on the phone about Pomazanniki, see if they have anyone who can build us something large enough to power this plane." Star Wolf
Abercrombie's team settled on reaching out to Callahan and Roskana. They needed an engine powerful enough to perform the intense needs their fighter would have in a dogfight and give it the power to climb and outturn any enemy fighter. Correspondents would be sent to Roskana inquiring about the engine while Callahan sent in a powerful 24-liter engine. The engine was ideal but needed to be better to push the heavy fighter, Abercrombie then thought of an idea, "Send this engine to Roskana, see what they can add to it, maybe they can enhance it." The team would box up one of the Callahan engines and send it to Roskana for them to improve on with notes that the engine size is perfect for the fighter but that it needed more power, particularly in climbing ability.
The next step was armament, the Star Wolf used four 30. caliber machine guns but the Gaelic vickers was simply too heavy and needed a lot of space, they needed a smaller set of guns. So they sent correspondents to Lusatia to construct the guns. Added notes were placed that, if possible, upgrades to 50 caliber were preferred.
The team moved to start work on the initial build, orders were sent into the factories for parts and Abercrombie's team would begin assembly hopefully by winter's end.
Fury
The Davidson's team was working around the clock, they had finalized the design changed but now a huge issue presented itself. The Stewart and Callahan engines were simply not going to cut the Fury's needs. They sent in requests to Pomaz for an engine made specifically for the Fury. "It has to be large and generate a lot of power." said Ian. But now yet another problem, the fuel tank could only take so much Staol, the fuel storage problem persisted despite design changes. "Dammit, we can't delay any longer" bemoaned Keith. Ian kept thinking over and over in his head, what the solution could be. Then he thought, 'it's not how much we put into it, rather how it uses what can give it.' he began drawing on his board "remember when maw used that Nevarran pressure cooker?" he said to Keith, "remember? Yea, poor paw was terrified it would explode. Why?" Ian showed the design to Keith, "It always worked, it generated enough heat and pressure to cook meals so...what about Staol?" He drew a fuel feed system that would go into the engine where it would pressurize the Staol fed into it to generate more power while using less fuel. "Are you seriously suggesting making our engine a damn pressure cooker?" Keith asked.
"Think for a moment, if we can get the fighter lifted off somehow into a portion of the atmosphere where the air pressure is low we can safely activate this fuel feed. Once activated and the fighter descends the pressure from the lower atmosphere will dual pressurize the fuel tank creating the force needed to drive the aircraft to the desired speed. Fuel lasts longer and we have a damn fast plane." Keith stared at the madness his brother was proposing, "But?" he said knowing there had to be a catch. "But, if the fuel tank or the engine is hit just right the plane will explode, every time. We need more armor around the critical areas." Ian placed the drawing on a nearby table, "We can cut armament down to dual guns on the wings but the body will have to be armored." Keith didn't like it, he knew McCarron's team would now beat them in armament. "We do that and Case might be angry the McCarron's have more guns" Keith said as Ian went to sit at his desk and draw up a copy of his design to send to Pomazannikki. "We aren't making a close-range fighter like them, we're making an interceptor to catch the enemy and outrun them." He finished his sketch and letter, "trust me brother." Keith took the letter and walked out of the office to deliver it. Ian was nervous but felt this was the best chance they had.

Star Wolf
The Lusatians confirmed the Gaelian request, sending both a 30 caliber machine gun design schematic along with a 50 caliber design schematic for the Gaelians to better determine how to integrate them into potential designs. A 30 caliber armament and 50 caliber prototype were also delivered, for early test craft, though the Lusatians indicated their own concerns that the heavier armament had an alarming propensity to jam when fired in longer bursts, and it would likely be some time before that error could be corrected.

When the Gaelic embassy contacted the central sector of the Sarakhov starfort to discuss engine designs, the Maijistry of Defense called up their list of motor companies to discuss. Consisting of five different companies, within the day, the list, and the attributes of each, were forwarded to the Gaelic ambassador.
The first on the list block was the Arzachensk Design Bureau, or the ADB, a scientific think-tank dedicated to the art of motor creation based in Tikhovropol. Founded shortly after the 1917 Revolution, they are one of the few motor companies actively subsidized by Sarakhov. Their strength lies in efficiency and reliability, creating very fuel efficient engines that rarely break down. They've recently been tasked with designing and testing a new tankette model, which is still currently in development. The drawback is weight and size, however. While efficient, the weight can bog down any vehicle that doesn't use one-hundred-percent of it's power, and while it is reliable, the size of their standard engines require a significantly large chassis to successfully contain and defend. Additionally, while efficient and reliable, their engines perform at par levels, generally not out-performing other engines in power- while also not under-performing.
The second was the Svetlana Motor Company, known as the SMC, a carriage making and horse breeding company founded in the late 1800s, turned motor company during a major industrial boom that originated in the Oflyan region of the southern Slavic sphere of Granuras, they specialize in creating high-power and versatile engines. Recently tasked with designing a new landship model, the main drawbacks being in their fuel efficiency and size. Regardless of the engine type, be it Staol, Petrol or Diesel, their engines crew through fuel faster than an operator can feed it (hyperbole), and, similar to the ADB (Arzachensk Design Bureau), the pure size of their engines are utterly enormous. Their average horsepower, however, is almost unrivaled. The pure amount of torque and force they produce can easily take any vehicle to max speed and maintain it (assuming fuel provides), and the weathering of their equipment is unparalleled. Regardless of heat, lack thereof, mud, or snow, the engines will still perform admirably.
The third, Vorobeva-Kovalev Motors, or VKM, a motor company founded in the late 1900s by Pankratiy Vorobeva and Ioakim Kovalev, is one of the more luxurious brands of Pomaz engine designers. Their main selling point is their incredibly high-power and fuel efficient engines, matching (and at times, even surpassing) the ADB and SMC respectfully, but using immeasurably expensive design processes and materials that result in very complex and expensive engines. Usually requiring hundreds of parts, they are not easy to maintain and require specially trained operators to maintain. Additionally, all of the parts are patented (and the legal team for VKM is likely the largest on the planet), making them the exclusive sellers of every engine part they produce.
The fourth would be People's Motors, or PM, a company founded by Lusatian immigrant Anton Moszkowicz, is a largely union-based company residing in the western districts of Pomazanniki. Their largest selling points revolve around cheap and reliable engines, at the cost of below-average fuel efficiency and under-performing on most power tests. Their parts are widely available for reproduction at incredibly low license costs, and their engines are made with standard design principals adapted to a tightened budget.
The last on the list was North Tuamovsk Motors, or NTM. While usually they specialize in the creation of Staol-powered steam engines for trains, their talents have been found useful in creating engines for motorized vehicles (specifically logistical trucks). Easily out-performing every other company on the list in both pure power and reliability, a single NTM engine can push through nearly any environment and do it again without breaking down. The downside, however, is that the engine is enormous, much larger than any other engine company's mainstay listed.
For the specific design sent to Pomaz RND, they recommended North Tuamovsk Motors, due to the intent to create an interceptor, but suggest the Arzachensk Design Bureau as a backup if they are looking to conserve space.

Star Wolf
Abercrombie's unboxed the Lusatian guns, per usual their pristine quality was only matched by Marrlan or Roskanan builds, the smooth almost perfect Lusatian .30 caliber machine gun would have been the UKUG standard if not for the Vickers being able to sustain fire with its cooling tank. The prototype .50 cal would be tested as theory had it if enemy fighters had armor they would need the punch, Abercrombie's team now determined two variants, a light fighter and heavy fighter. The light fighter would use .30 caliber guns while the heavy used .50 cal.
The guns fit perfectly in the wing compartments, and they continued finishing the build, all that remained was the engine. "No word from Roskana yet, but Callahan sent this in." said a member of the engineer corps. Abercrombie walked over to inspect the large engine sent in by Callahan, it was a large hulk of metal heavy and would definitely be a snug fit in the plane's rear engine compartment. With the Callahan engine the Star Wolf would be able to do what it needed for now but the team left the inquiry open for the Roskanans if they sent in an engine.
Assembly would proceed from here, once completed all that was needed would be making sure the internal components functioned properly and begin testing.
Fury
The Pomaz didn't disappoint, the Davidson team spend hours mulling over their options before settling on Svetlana Motor Company. They continued framework and placing the Vicker guns into the wings where their weight wouldn't throw the fighter off too much. Once the SMC engine arrived as expected it was huge but was what they needed, "It's off a inch, she needs to be a tad smaller" Ian said as the engine couldn't fit in the long nose of the Fury. It was sent into Stewart for re-engineering, they would take the Pomaz technology and shrink it slightly, it still was large and was elongated to fit the unique shape of the fighter. When the team lowered the engine into the compartment it firmly fit in near perfectly. "Tell Stewart and SMC thank you, I believe that prototype design does belong to both of em" said Keith, Stewart would send blueprints of the combined engine tech to Pomaz per standards in the trade agreement between the UKUG and Pomazannikki.
"We're catching up a bit" said Ian, but they still had one major obstacle, making the fuel process work. If the fighter pressurized on the ground and took off it would burn too much fuel for the desired range of the interceptor. Ian began mulling it over, "what if it had disposable fuel tanks just for takeoff?" he drew two round tanks that would ride the wings, "these tanks feed directly into the engine to give the fighter the fuel needed to hit the upper atmosphere, once in the atmosphere the pilot drops them off, switches to the primary fuel tank which at that altitude performs the needed pressurization and once entering operational atmosphere she'll have all the fuel and power needed." Keith shuddered at the idea, "that means we have to design and build fuel tanks for it to drop off." The Fury was becoming rather expensive, but Ferris wanted their interceptor. Keith placed a phone call to Case Ferris inquiring about the fuel tanks and was cutoff mid-sentence, "Listen Davidson, whatever you need to get that damn thing flying. The RAF is covering some of the bill for R&D just don't fuck it up." he then would hear the receiver click loudly before turning to a designer, "Ok...get to working on the fuel tanks."
Ian was looking over it all, the Fury if it pulled off this takeoff would be extremely deadly as a fast and swift fighter but would be extremely vulnerable on the ground and during this procedure. In fact because of the fuel process, it meant it needed more time to reach the desired atmospheric pressure to engage enemy fighters. It was a headache but there was now something else that would help this handicap. He had learned about some new tech meteorologist were using to track weather, and if they could adapt this for tracking aircraft it would give the Fury all the time it needed to respond. He began writing a letter to R&D, it wouldn't be technology the UKUG could make on their own they'd need the Entente.

Star Wolf
The freezing cold air tried to invade the McCarron hanger as Abercrombie's team slowly tested the internal controls of their fighter. The grey metal fighter was finished but flight tests wouldn't happen as the snowfall outside had picked up considerably, Abercrombie came out holding two bottles of Faroe Whiskey in her hands. "Lads! Lasses! Thank you all for your hard work, but tonight let's celebrate!" A round of cheers filled the hanger, the annual Winter celebration was coming, and she wanted her crew to enjoy the holiday, McCarron had been very pleased with their progress and the installation of the Callahan engine for the first test flight would be done likely when the snow melted in the Spring. The first prototype Star Wolf fighter was ready to fly, the RAF had already commissioned a pilot for it and reports came in that the Royal Navy were inquiring about its carrier capabilities. It was as her wife told her, this one airplane could set her up for the rest of her life.
Fury
The Fury team was working around the clock again, installing the pressurized fuel tanks and the launching fuel pods. It was clear they would not make the Spring launch date. Ferris was displeased with their lack of progress with the redesigns, but the Davidsons were convinced the fighter now had everything it needed to succeed. The Pomaz engine on paper was perfect and if the fighter could achieve the altitude, it needed it would be able to get the speed it wanted. Ian looked at the fighter as the team worked diligently to put it together, "I still think those Vickers are too big on the wings." The Ferris team was instructed to use Ferris Combine Vickers guns likely as some sign of cathartic pride that the aircraft used most of their materials and ideas. Keith shrugged it off, "we can't delay anymore. This thing has to be ready by late Spring." Ian just kept staring at the fat guns, thinking about their weight. "The navy now wants us to think about carrier capability" Ian mumbled, Keith sighed exhausted from the months of work, "makes sense, the Minister of Defense thinks the next war will be with Kumosenkan." Ian broke his gaze from the gun emplacements and looked at his brother, he saw how tired he was, "Keith, go get some rest. When was the last time you saw Gladius and the kids?" Keith broke a rare smile, "when was the last time you saw them?" he chuckled, "They love their uncle Ian, especially Ron, that boy is smart." Ian smiled, his nephew at 10 already showed a natural ability to do math and interest in engineering. "I'll come over for the Solstice celebration, Gladius making that turkey she always does?" Ian asked, Keith nodded "Aye, bought a decent sized one the other day from the butcher. Even got some fish from Marrlan she wants to try from the fish market, might roast them with it, we're supposed to feast like kings this holiday you know." Ian finally smiled, it felt like years since he did, a nice warm meal with his family out of this damned hanger.

--Star Wolf--
The crash from the test flight devastated Abercrombie she and her team were investigating the cause of the crash, but it seemed the Callahan engine was simply not strong enough to lift the full metal frame. "Don't worry, the pilot will live." Abercrombie was startled from the sudden voice from behind her as she studied the blueprints over and over to find Arthur McCarron standing behind her at the doorway to her office. "Mr. McCarron! What brings you here!?" she asked in a slight panic.
He calmly walked over to the blueprints, "The pilot is hurt badly but they'll live, fix the engine and try again. The United Kingdom needs this fighter." Abercrombie felt relieved to hear Arthur's calm voice reassuring her, "I'm heading to Zarich for a weapons convention, no doubt our rivals will be there. If we secured a contract with them it'll be huge for the company. You and your team keep working on Star Wolf, I believe in it and I believe in you." he placed his hand lightly on her shoulder before smiling and walking out of the office, "Good luck Mrs. Abercrombie." And with that Arthur left the hanger where the crew were looking over the damaged prototype.
Abercrombie felt a new resolve, "I will get this to work." She began writing a letter to Callahan asking for a much more powerful engine, the best they could possibly make, her team meanwhile went over the frame trying to see what caused the damage and if they had rushed its build or if the metal was poor.
--Fury--
"DELAYED?!" Ferris was furious but didn't have time to scold the Davidson's as much as he wanted, given the accident McCarron had he wasn't in any hurry to copy them and crash his expensive interceptor. "Get this damn thing flight ready before I come back from Zarich!, I mean it!" Ferris left for his Stewart luxury car for the main port not even acknowledging the team any further.
"I...Is the fuel tank ready?" Keith asked, Ian nodded wiping his forehead nervously. "The two large fuel tanks go onto the wings and are fed directly to the engine itself, once she reaches optimal atmosphere they drop, and the pressurized fuel engages. This will give the fighter the speed and range needed with its large Staol engine." Keith and the team looked over everything as the two large pods were placed underneath the wings. "Where do the pods go?" Keith asked, "They'll have to be dropped at a designated area after liftoff, we have to recover them as they are quite expensive." Ian emphasized expensive when he said it.
The drop off fuel pods were an odd idea but if pulled off the Fury would be faster than any Galra fighter. "Lets run the engine and make sure the fuel transfer happens." The Ferris team would turn on the loud massive Pomaz engine, vibrating the hanger and causing several to grab their ears in pain, "OY SHE'S LOUD!" cried Keith. They would watch and make sure once the fuel pods were empty the mechanism to drop them worked and then the engine transfers to the pressurized tank.

--Star Wolf--
The next prototype boasted a much large Staol powered engine, Callahan had created a much more powerful engine, the metal was reinforced, and everything was looked over again, they were ready for another test flight. Abercrombie hoped this time she would fly and be able to show McCarron his faith in her wasn't ill spent.
--Fury--
The Fury was finally ready for its initial test flight, it would take off using the two disposable Staol fuel tanks to get to proper atmosphere before dropping them and using the internal fuel tank. The Davidson brothers were nerve shot and exhausted getting the fighter ready for this flight, though they did feel some relief that Ferris wasn't here to bother them.

--Star Wolf-- It finally came, a successful engine gave the Star Wolf the flight test it needed. The dual wing fighter plane soared through the skies with better speed and agility than any of the existing UKUG bi planes but would need work to catch up to anything Galra has. "Congratulations Mrs. Abercrombie" Abercrombie turned around to see McCarron standing behind her with a brimming smile on his face, "The Royal Air Force will be purchasing these to replace hundreds of existing fighters. Good job Abercrombie, expect a pay raise and promotion you are now our chief engineer for our air development division." Abercrombie had tears streaming down her face she tried to say thank you but her throat wouldn't say anything as the rush of emotions over took her. McCarron smiled as the Star Wolf flew over beginning a new age for the UKUG. The fighter plane took a final overpass roaring with its powerful MK1 Callahan engine lifting high into the air. --Fury--
OOC: Retconned to have standard Pomaz engine no fuel tank drops.
The Fury failed another test flight, the issue was stability for the monoplane. The Davidsons were being pressured hard by Ferris to finish especially with the news spreading fast that McCarron had beaten them to the punch delivering their Star Wolf multi wing fighter on time.

McCarron Arms was swimming in pounds following the Star Wolf deal going through, wanting to strike while the iron was hot they sent engineers to Lusatia for a new engine to help give the Star Wolf fighter more power in the air as well as some 50 caliber mounted guns. The Mark 2 would be expensive but well worth a price tag in combating the United Kingdom's enemies in the air. Improvements to the interior cockpit were also being planned, an internal radio system, oxygen support, sealed cabin, better reading instruments. Everything to help make the fighter plane better. ---Ferris--- The Davidsons had to scrap the Fury for now, they had been turned to build a new project, a new Gaelic bomber. The design was rather...off but the Davidson brothers were convinced it could work given time. The bomber would have a forward set of machine guns and a rear turret for protection. Theory held that the bomber could carry payloads that would make it operate between a light and medium bomber. Granna Ra would be the bomber project name, Ferris combine wouldn't make the same mistakes recruiting help from Lusatia for engine work, armaments and cross engineering per the Entente.

Project Granna Ra was progressing smoothly, the bomber carried its payload with ease and could man a crew of 9. The bombs it carried and dropped proved effective with devastating results, the bomber would also have several machine gun turrets for protection against enemy fighters. It did lack a severe fuel consumption issue as the twin Callahan engines ate Staol quickly to lift the heavy bomber meaning full speed runs were severely limited in range.
More tests were needed to complete it for mass production, but the Davidson brothers were confident in their machine to do its duty for the UKUG.

McCarron has released Star Wolf Mk3 a new variant of the Star Wolf that will fall under the heavy fighter category, using 6 Rolbeck 50 cal machine guns a longer nose and more powerful Callahan engine this fighter will be used to intercept enemy bombers and fighters with deadly results. While it lacks the climbing and turning advantage of the MK2 and MK1 models the MK3 is still a deadly fighter. Mass production is expected around 1936. Sea Wolf variants are now in production which are MK2 models made for carrier launches. Star Wolf Mark 3. More dakka for bomber inteception SWMK2 below for comparison
