Harry entered the CEO's room with a dull thud as the large doors parted. He walked across the room carefully to avoid strewn notes and a few tools and parts on the floor. Not seeing anyone immediately he called out, "Mr. Rolbeck?" Buried beneath a mountain of paper and metal Edward poked his head out. "Yes, Harry? What is it?" "Your mails come in sir." "Bully! And I told you call me Eddie." He pushed aside some empty cups of coffee and sandwich rappers. It was a miracle the engineering pig sty he called his office hadn't gotten an ant infestation. Harry handed him the letter and he was greeted with this:

Mr. Rolbeck,

Due to developing situations, your expertise is requested among other manufacturers to develop a weapon for lend-lease in a very short amount of time. Requirements are listed below.

Resistance to jungle conditions.
Resistance to frigid conditions.
Ease of Production.
Ease of use.
Ability to easily be rechambered.

The design and prototype deadline is the 19th of Astilla 1931. Should all parties conclude early testing and selection will begin prematurely. Again I must stress the urgency of this bid, please attempt to ensure some form of quality but time is of the essence.

Edwards eyes lit up, reveling in the new challenge presented to him. He quickly scribbled out a response in as legible a quality as he could, "Harry quickly take this to the post boy, I've got work to do!" Though he wasn't the only one to acquire such a letter. Mira and Vikan, Higgins, and even Dylan would be invited to participate as the race for a new rifle began.

The Dylan R&D team was scrambling around their complex, the letter had come as a surprise and they weren't prepared for such a short notice order. The conglomerate workshop was a mess of ideas, paper scribbles, and gun parts. Finally, they settled on an old project gun that was abandoned a few years prior to resume work on. A simple lever action rifle originally meant for hunting, it's far from finished but it's something with more progress to work from.

The Mira and Vikan team was dead set on a simple and classic yet interesting design. A pump action rifle in the style of a varmint rifle, but firing a full rifle cartridge. Albeit a straight-walled round nose one but a rifle round nonetheless. With an idea in mind, they set about making their cryptic scrawls on blue paper, their hands like flashes leaving white traces as they went. It was going to be a long road ahead for all parties involved knowing what hair-brained functions the weapon could get up to.

After trial and error the rifle designs were finished. Tests were run but finally a clear winner was decided. Dylan's quite a peculiar design, the Pump Action Rifle has a internal mag capacity of 6 rounds plus 1 in the chamber. It's chambered in .45-30 and loads and ejects from the bottom loading gate. It is able to be slam fired. It is made quite cheaply and the iron sights are very cheaply made with no ability to adjust for windage only range via a small leaf. It initially seemed to fail the environment trials, but it was found the demo gun was a lemon and thankfully the test team had brought a backup gun. It is capable of being dipped in water, frozen, and even still it could fire and cycle. It has a maximum effective range of 210 meters, and a maximum range of 300 meters.



Following its selection, factories will be set aside for their production in the coming months.
The other rifles that were not selected will be released on the civilian market and will still be available albeit even further down the line as they will be a lower priority production item.
