THE FOLLOWING IS A SHORT STORY EXPLAINING NIL'NOR CULTURAL VIEWS TOWARDS THEIR ARRIVAL VIA "THE FABLE OF THE DAY OF RISING"
Crossed out sections denote cultural discrepancies. The tale is told differently depending on which clan is being asked, and is mostly ambiguous in religious text.
The Elders tell this story every year, on the Day of Rising. To begin, the Day of Rising is a celebration of hope, born from our darkest moment after we fled the Old World. Tired of our traveling and struggles from place to place, when the Elders heard word of a land untouched by the hands the Ganglak's, we followed their command to seek our homes there. For nearly a generation we escaped to our new home, but it was only by the actions of the First we lived. They led the way on the Great Journey, across the endless waves to arrive here where they would build a new home. Four moons passed, life happy and joyful in the land of plenty, those first few free from the cruelty of the Ganglak. Once the first homes had been built, and enough food and water found, the Great Chief of ClanTolvaj Meiyo Gruvar led sent the ship that had brought them there back, hoping to inform the others back in the Old of the freedom found in the new.
But as the Allfather saw it, we must prove the worth to hold such a place. The sun, the home of our God and where our dead lain in eternal rest, left us. No longer would we see the light of it's burning majesty, and no longer would it warm us during the cold moons. The Great Dark had taken us, a test put upon the Mil'Nor to prove we were truly blessed by Falgyr, the Golden one. Our people grew fearful of the night, finding solace in one another and the protection granted by our Great Chief. For what felt like days, we saw little but darkness, an endless void reminding us of the fate who betrayed their kin and friends. It was only when our Great Chief confronted the the Golden One that he granted us absolution. The Allfather had planned this all along after all, knowing the Chief would prove both him and his clan, and choosing him and his kin to sit alongside him within the center of the Golden Palace.
Every year since, the Great Dark comes once again, and every night we end with our prayers to our ancestors for light to wade off the dark, and for our Great Chief to once again bring back the light once more. Thus, everyday must we live in the name of the Golden one, and bring light wherever there is darkness, and hope to those who have none. To show true strength as a chosen of the Allfather is toT:Bring hope to our people, M: Honor our Ancestors, G:To live life as the Allfather Willed. bring his light to all who may wish to listen.
