The Marrlan police force is divided into 3 sections. Local Marshall, Regional Marshall, and State Marshall. These sections allow different levels of situational handling and measured responses to accordingly deal with incidents while mitigating the chance for issues between civilians and law enforcement. Marshalls undergo 2 years training. 1 Year for law, sociology, and mediation skills. The 2nd is for procedure, equipment familiarization, codes, situations, and conduct.
All Local Marshall Department's are required to be residents of their area for at minimum a year to know people in the vicinity of their station and have a connection with the community. They directly answer to a mayor or city governor. Their equipment is quite minimal on the officers person. A simple uniform and hat, a hand gun/carbine, webbing and belt with pouches, cuffs, a flashlight, a club and other small effects.
Regional Marshall's are like a semi centralized force partially directed by both the national government and governors or mayors. They usually fill the role of park rangers and game wardens, but are still able to carry out the duties of Local Marshall's if more are needed at a given time. Their equipment is similar but more geared to rougher terrain. A simple uniform and hat, a shotgun or hand gun, webbing and belt with pouches, cuffs, E-Tool, all terrain boots, a flashlight, and other small effects.
State Marshall's directly answer to the national government and partially ISO. They fulfill the roles of security for official government buildings and property, or extra muscle in times. They undergo an additional year of training in crisis response and a law refresher.
Their equipment consists of: A simple uniform and hat, a hand gun/carbine and rifle or shotgun, webbing and belt with pouches, cuffs, a flashlight, a club and other small effects.
The standard issue handgun/carbine of the Marrlan Marshall service is the Higgins Duty PDW. A .45 HPA pistol with a folding stock. It holds 10 rounds and has a inefficient gas tap recoil system that requires tweaking after purchase, otherwise the over gassed fire arm will push a blast of gas in the shooters face while in use. It can either be issued in the carbine configuration or the traditional pistol configuration. Both variants can be holstered.
The Rolbeck 200 Series shotgun is the staple of Marrish law enforcement and has remained so since its release in 1924. As traditional "sport speed loading" techniques are trained as standard practice, the top mounted tube gives the shooter a much easier time loading multiple shells at once. It can hold 7 shells of 8 Gauge + 1 in the chamber.
The Rolbeck Mountaineer Militia Rifle, or MMR, is a staple of civilian and law enforcement arsenals across Marrlan. It is a affordable and fair quality firearm that is easy to use and train on. It holds 8 rounds of .30-06 + 1 in the chamber.
